Soooooo, this was for the 500 follower crossover celebration…you
are a lovebug for being so patient with me taking my sweet ass time and it’s
not even that great. So, apologies if this is lame but I hope it isn’t and that
you like it!
Aomine flashes you a flirtatious grin as he lays up another
flawless shot.“Good job, Aomine-kun!” He hears your voice above the din of
the crowd, his ears finely tuned to the pitch of your voice. He’s pretty sure
he’s never fallen this hard for someone before and though he breathes
confidence, the idea of confessing to you makes his chest tighten uncomfortably.
He’s not used to feeling doubt.“Get your head in the game Aomine,” Imayoshi comments lowly.
“Tch, I could win this with my eyes closed by myself,” he
snaps back, running further down the court. The game ends in Too’s favor, not really surprising anyone.
After cooling down and the team meeting, Aomine is out of the locker room, eyes
eagerly seeking for your form. But when he finds you, his face sets into an
even deeper scowl than normal. Who the hell is the giant looming over you and
why do you have that starry look in your eyes?He quickens his pace, calling out, “Hey, _____-chan!”
You look up, smile just as bright as before and he doesn’t
know whether to feel thankful or irritated that you’re giving him the same look
you just gave the male standing next to you.“Aomine-kun, you were great!” you say.
“You know I know that already, right?” he teases earning a
sock to his arm. “Geez, you hit like a girl,” he rumbles ruffling your hair. He’s
completely ignoring the other presence, clearly showing he’s not interested in
who he is, just waiting for him to leave you and he alone. But you’re too polite for that kind of behavior.
“Aomine-kun, this,” you say stretching your hands towards
the other male, “Is Ushijima Wakatoshi, one of my friends from junior high.”Aomine finally looks at the brunette, tilting his chin up in
a slight greeting, only doing so because he doesn’t want to be rude to you.“Nice to meet you,” Ushijima rumbles sticking out his hand.
Aomine grips it tightly, shaking once then dropping it.“So, you ready to go?” Aomine asks looking back at you.
You bite your bottom lip which almost has Aomine groaning
for two reasons. One, you look damn sexy when you do that and two, it’s your
tell that you’re about to say something he isn’t going to like.“I’m sorry, Aomine-kun,” you say softly, “but Ushijima-kun
is only in town for tonight and we haven’t seen each other in such a long time.
Can we do a rain check?”“Why don’t we all just go out together?” Imayoshi’s voice
draws all of your attention. “It isn’t every day we meet such an astute
representation of our country, at least in terms of volleyball.”Ushijima bows slightly to the compliment before looking back
at you. “It’s your call, _____-chan,” he says.“Um, sure! Let’s go,” you reply and the whole basketball team
plus one volleyball player and you head off to a local restaurant. The evening
goes fairly well, despite Aomine’s irritated glares sent to Ushijima whenever
he seems to get a little too close to you. It’s clear to the ace he’s
interested in you but you seem just as oblivious to his advances as you are to
Aomine’s.At the end of dinner, while you’re in the restroom and the
rest of the guys are paying their bills, Aomine leans toward Ushijima saying
lowly, “Let’s get one thing clear. You’re a part of _____-chan’s past, I’m part
of her present and her future. So
back off.”Ushijima, unruffled as ever, meets the hard stare of the
basketball prodigy and shrugs. “At the end of the day, it’s _____-chan’s
choice. But we have history, so don’t think you’ve got this in the bag,” he
replies.“What’s in the bag?” you ask stepping out of the door.
“Nothing,” they both reply then look at you. And in that
moment, a lingering apprehension forms in the back of your mind; just what were
these two talking about anyway?

Isn’t it? She did amazing!
I love it! Thanks! Not my creation of course, but I have the credit in my description. 😄
-making the facial expression your character’s making and trying to describe it
-writing entire scenes in your head as you shower and not remembering most of it by the time you get to your computer
-deciding you can’t do something you’ve been looking forward to until you write what you told yourself you were going to write, resulting in you laying in your bed doing nothing
-having two completely different ideas for your story to go in and both seem equally good but you can’t do both and you also can’t choose
-having docs with stories you know you’ll never finish but not deleting them anyway, even if they’re only a couple sentences long
-getting random bursts of productivity that could go towards homework or cleaning your room or writing and you know you’ll only be able to do one
-getting inspiration from the most random things
-writing at inopportune times because a perfect line or dialogue just popped into your head and you have to get it down before you forget it
-“what are you writing?” “……..a story”
– “what do you want to do when you grow up?” “uunnghnnggguughhhhh”
-reveling in the embarrassment you put your characters through
Also all of this is me right now 😂

Thank you sweetie! I’ve just been consuming anime lately so I’m hoping for inspiration to strike! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement!
a little known fact is that 75% of the reason i started this blog was that somewhere along the way, someone would ask me for this ballroom/latin!au. when i brought may on and we started talking to get to know each other, i found out she also loves dancing with the stars as much as i do. we knew we had to write this au or else we’d only screech to each other about it with no other outlet
if you like what i do and want to show your support, consider supporting me on ko-fi! money is tight right now, and i could use the help!

- Heather Morris’s rumba with Maks Chmerkovskiy is my inspiration for Ukai’s and your dancing so definitely check it out. It’s, like, pitch perfect, the chemistry is all there, I could go on. I’d like to think that good songs for a rumba with him are Amy Winehouse’s slow-downed BBC Live Lounge version of “Valerie” or “Crystallized” by Young the Giant
- The two of you have been partnered up since you were kids, and it shows. There’s just something so effortless in your dancing and your partnership. It makes even the most serious of dance styles look like fun.
- Needless to say, it took a lot of work (and a little falling in love) to make that happen. Your personalities clashed a lot in the beginning, but something clicked after a particularly bad day in competition and things took a turn for the better from there.
- Since he buzzed his hair in his youth, he never had to slick back his hair for competition. The headband he wears all the time now to push his hair back is a sort of middle ground for that when he’s instructing.
- The boys love it when Ukai calls you into help with classes. Partially because, hey, a pretty lady is coming to see them, but also because you can give their partners insight that they’re more receptive to since you’re in their position
- Plus, the demos from you two are either really
hothelpful or lead to some hilarious bickering after- Has a soft spot for the Viennese waltz and foxtrot, even though he’s a latin guy himself. You often joke about him liking those standard dances–as opposed to the tango–because of his delinquent-like appearance.
- (This is where I direct you to another dance from Maks Chmerkovskiy, but this time it’s his Viennese waltz with Meryl Davis because I have not shut up to May for days already about this being the perfect VWaltz for Ukai and his partner. I get really emotional about it)
- His favorite outside of the ten dance styles in competition is the Argentine tango. Dancing in close embrace with you is just so romantic for him.
So cool! Thanks for a new obsession!
Thank you luv!!
