Kise and Kuroko (separate) enjoying the winter season with their s/o

We don’t have much of a winter where I am, so it’s always fun to write about it! I hope you enjoy! – Admin Jade

Kise

Exhaling a cloud of steam, Kise rubbed his hands rapidly in efforts to warm them despite the gloves. He looked about, taking in the city park which had been transformed into a winter wonderland with unmarred snow covering every inch of it, the only disturbance his own footsteps that led him to this particular spot.

“Kise-kun!”

Smiling, he turned, eyes shining as you made your way towards him, two presumably hot drinks in your hands. You extended one to him with a sweet smile. “Light on sugar and cream, just how you like it.”

Kise took it, the frost melting from his fingers and sighed as he lifted the cup, closed his eyes and inhaled the lovely caffeinated scent. He’d not thought he would like coffee but you’d convinced him to try it and now it was one of his favorite treats. The steam warmed his face but being with you warmed his heart.

Opening his eyes, he moved to your side, wrapped his arm about your shoulders and pecked the top of your head. “This was a great idea, _____-cchi, it’s so peaceful in the morning!”

You snuggled into his side, shivering a bit. “Yes, but I hadn’t realized just how cold it was going to be!”

Kise chuckled, rubbing your arm. “That just means we have to stay close, right?”

A playful pinch of his side had him yelping as you teased, “Like you need any excuse.”

“So mean,” he pouted, but didn’t move away.

After a few moments of standing enjoying your drinks, the hot liquid warming from the inside out, Kise tugged you forward. As you walked arm in arm, the gentle crunch of snow beneath your feet, the sun began to crest the horizon, sending tendrils of light cascading off the fresh white powder. Looking up, you gasped and pointed.

Kise followed your line of sight, inhaling his own sharp breath when he saw hundreds of icicles hanging in the trees with the sun’s rays creating bursts of color in their refraction. He looked back down to you, watching your eyes sparkle with excitement and drew closer to your face. “I think we have a new yearly tradition,” he said, planting a kiss to your cheek. He drew back, enjoying the pink tinging your face before leaning back down to kiss your lips.

Kuroko

The sound of holiday tunes and children’s laughter grew louder the closer you and your boyfriend drew to the ice rink. As it came into view, Kuroko stopped abruptly, squeezing your hand. “Kuroko-kun, what’s wrong?”

He swallowed, keeping his eyes fixed on the frozen water encased by support walls, images of coach’s latest training brain scheme flashing through his mind, his backside pulsing at the painful memory. “Eh, just…not a fan of ice,” he said lamely, ashamed he was so afraid to go back out there.

But you squeezed his hand back and smiled. “It’ll be fine, you can hang onto me if you want,” you offered sweetly, tugging him forward gently.

Still resistant, Kuroko nonetheless followed your lead as you made way to the rental booth, but he drew the line at letting you pay for him.

Together you found an empty bench and switch out shoes for skates, fingertips feeling the bite of the cold winter air. After putting your gloves back on, you offered a hand once more to Kuroko. “Come on, we’ll stay on the edge until you feel more comfortable.”

“Won’t we be in the way?” he asked nervously.

“No, experienced skaters go into the center more, we’ll be fine there.” And taking his hand you pulled him up and into the rink, giving instruction as you went.

Soon enough, though still quite wobbly, Kuroko was managing to skate with his hand just hovering above the wall. “I’m fine for now, _____-chan, why don’t you go out and do some real skating? I don’t want this to be boring for you,” he said.

Frowning, you stopped in front of him, hands on his shoulders. “As long as I’m with you, I’m happy, I don’t need to be speeding around if it means leaving you by yourself.”

Kuroko couldn’t stop the flush to his cheeks at your earnest words, still unused to someone paying so much attention to him for anything besides basketball. Smiling softly, he replied, “And I won’t be happy until you’ve gotten some proper skating in. Go on, I’ll have more fun watching you, I’m sure.”

You sighed but nodded, leaning forward to peck his cheek.

Then you were off in a burst of speed that had him catching his breath. How could anyone move that quickly and gracefully on ice? Sure, you were using skates and not shoes, but with the ease of which you moved about Kuroko had no doubt you would have ran literal circles around the team if you’d been with them that day. His smile widened as he leaned his elbows against the wall but a second later his feet slid out from under him and he found himself smacking his butt to the ice hard. Groaning, he tilted his head back, thumping it against the wall as you hurried towards him asking loudly if he was ok.

When you reached his side and knelt to help him up, he asked, “Now can we go get hot chocolate?”

Laughing, you nodded, hefting him to his feet and made your way off the ice.
