just so you know, anon, YOUāRE A BILLION TIMES MORE AMAZING THANK YOU.Ā
btw i know some of these scenarios arenāt the mostĀ āparent-likeā but i just felt like little things that show comfort between an adult and a child who sees them as a guardian are the real dealbreakers for a s/o trying to build a relationship with their partnerās child(ren).
This is so long, Iām sorry. D:
Kuroko: As a date, the two of you, and Kurokoās daughter, were eating out at a fast food restaurant. It wasnāt anything special, but it was relaxed, and that was the best part.Ā
Youād come to realize that Kurokoās obsession with vanilla milkshakes had been passed down through the beauty of genetics. So had the round, blue eyes (though herās held more feeling). So it was slightly funny, watching Kuroko and his daughter stare forward with the same, blank expression, sipping on milkshakes.Ā
āAyumi-chan, here, make sure you eat your burger as well. You too, Tetsuya.ā You pushed their burgers forward, and they both sighed at them. You raised a brow.Ā āIf you donāt eat, you wonāt have enough energy for the park, later.ā
Surveying the burger with a look of mild distaste, Ayumi tugged on her fatherās shirt sleeve, asking him to lean down so that she could whisper in his ear. He nodded understandingly once she was done, and straightened to face you with a business-like expression. Ayumi mimicked her father.Ā
āAyumi-chan and I have a proposal.ā Kuroko announced.Ā
You folded your hands together and rested your chin on them, leaning forward with a grin.Ā āAh, and what would that be.ā
āIf we eat the burgers, you need to buy us each another vanilla shake.ā
Ayumi nodded earnestly.Ā
You bit your lip, pretending to think hard about the offer. In the end, you motioned for Ayumi to come to your side of the table. She did as she was told, taking a few seconds to slide off the bench, then climb onto yours. You bent down to whisper in her ear.Ā
āIf Ayumi-chan finishes her burger, Iāll take you on a boat ride tomorrow, and makeĀ āTou-san fight you in basketball.ā You then pulled back to gauge her reaction.
She thought about it for a bit, then copied your previous pose: hands folded, chin resting on them, leaning forward with a pleasantly amused expression.Ā āāTou-san needs to finish his burger right now. Please give me mine as well. Hurry,Ā āTou-san, we need to do it fast.ā
Kuroko tried to look as grumpy as possible. Normal people would call his look one of mild unhappiness. āYouāre a traitor, Ayumi-chan.ā
āLife isnāt fair.ā She shrugged, and took a bite of her burger. Both you and Kuroko had to turn the other way in order to muffle your laughs at what she had just said.Ā
Kise: Ever since Kiseās son had been able to walk, heād acted as his fatherās manager. Maybe it was innate, but Sora could sense that Kise was always flitting around from one thing to the next, and needed all the help he could get.Ā
When you came into the picture, Sora was about four years old, and was intensely distrustful of you, as any good manager would be, initially. And while it was two years later now, and Sora was at the healthy age of six, he still showed signs of distance.Ā
Today, Kise had invited you over to hang out. The three of you sat on the couch, watching animated movies of Soraās choice, with Sora sat between you two.Ā
āHey, Soracchi, can I use you as a pillow?ā Kise asked, smiling charmingly at his son.Ā
Sora fixed him with a deadpan look.Ā āYouāre too heavy for me, Otou-san. ____-san, please pass me a pillow.ā
You did as you were told, smiling teasingly at Kise. Kise pouted at Sora for a few seconds until he gave in and finally snuggled him a bit before he put his head against the armrest and took a nap. Then it was just the two of you, watching a small sheep going on an adventure.Ā
Once the movie was done, you saw a sleepy Sora barely being able to keep his head up.Ā āDo you want to lie down?ā You asked him, and he shook his head vehemently, glancing protectively at his father. Ah.
You crouched down so that you were eye-to-eye with him.Ā āSora-kun, you know Iād never do anything to hurt your Otou-san, right?ā
He sniffed, as if a little insulted.Ā āOf course. I wouldnāt have let you stay around here if you were dangerous.ā
You bit back a laugh, and kept a serious face on.Ā āI want to help him as much as you do. And, I want to help Sora-kun as well, because I know you want more cuddles, even if you donāt want to bother Otou-san, right?ā
Narrowing his eyes at you, he crossed his arms.Ā āI donāt need cuddles.ā
āAh, I said want, not need. Sora-kun is such a good boy, heās really mature.ā You took his hand and squeezed it lovingly.Ā āBut if you let me, I could help make more time so that you could hang out with Otou-san. Would you like that?ā
After a few moments of consideration, he nodded hesitantly.Ā
āOkay, then itās a deal. Iāll take care of both Otou-san and Sora-kun, so that you could have more fun with Otou-san. Sound good?ā You grinned at him, and he gave you a small smile back.Ā āFor now, letās just have you lie down, okay?ā You helped him arrange himself so that he was fully in his fatherās embrace, and then drew a blanket over them both.Ā
āā¦āNight, ____-san.ā He whispered.Ā
Midorima:Ā āNatsumi! Your lucky item is a stuffed walrus toy, nanodayo. We have one in the basement, please go and grab it. Itās in the wooden box next to the shelf.ā
Once Natsumi ran off to go get it, he joined you in the living room, where you were putting together Natsumiās school bag, and sticking necessary files into Midorimaās briefcase.Ā
āYour lucky item is a steel water bottle. Take one from the kitchen.ā He informed you.Ā
You nodded, and pulled Midorima down for a quick kiss.Ā āHave a nice day.ā
His face flushed, even after all these years, and you giggled as he grabbed the briefcase, and glanced at his watch. His eyes widened.Ā āToday⦠daylight savings⦠Iām late.ā
You pushed him towards the door.Ā āGo, then! Go!ā
āNatsumiā¦ā He trailed off, a little unsure.Ā āIām supposed to drop her off to school.āĀ
You waved him off.Ā āWork doesnāt start until the afternoon for me, today, so Iāll just drop her off.ā
He still seemed a little uneasy, especially when she came bounding up the steps with a wide grin on her face, showcasing the stuffed walrus.Ā āI got it, I got it!ā
Sighing, he knelt down and ushered his daughter towards him.Ā ā____ will drop you off to school today. Is that alright?ā
Natsumi fell quiet, but peeked at you. You gave her a smile. She then nodded.Ā āGo save lives,Ā āTou-san, hurry!ā
Midorimaās shoulderās relaxed, and he hurriedly pulled Natsumi forward to place the tiniest of kisses on her forehead, before saying goodbye and rushing out the door.Ā
She then turned to you.Ā ā____-san, I would like breakfast now. Then please put a bow on the walrus.ā She paused,Ā āOh, and then can we listen to my favourite song in the car?ā
You nodded, and patted her head, then leading her to the kitchen. She sat down on her seat, then gasped dramatically at the food.Ā
āY-you made it exactly how I like it! EvenĀ āTou-san canāt do it!ā Natsumi stared at you in wonderment.Ā āWhy havenāt you made this before?ā
āNatsumi-chan only told me that this was her favourite last night.ā You reminded her, laughing.
She quickly gobbled up the food, then jumped off her seat to shove the walrus at you.Ā āCan I help you put the bow on it?ā
Aomine:Ā āRepeat after me.ā Aomine instructed.Ā āāTou-sanāā
āāTou-sanā¦ā
āā Is the best.ā
ā⦠Ith the betht.āĀ
āThatās my Tadashi.ā Aomine said proudly, ruffling his sonās hair. āDid you see that, ___? He thinks Iām the best.ā
You tapped Aomineās head with your knuckles.Ā āThatās called manipulation, Dai. Wait till Momoi hears about it.ā
Aomineās eyes widened in panic for a moment, before he snorted.Ā āShe canāt do anything to me.ā
āMomo oba-chan ith gonna kick your butt!ā Tadashi cheered, throwing his arms up, then breaking into some fighting moves.Ā
Scowling at Momoiās own brainwashing sheād done on poor Tadashi, Aomine got up from his crouched position and wrapped an arm around your shoulder as the two of you walked down a path in the park, while Tadashi ran around the two of you.Ā
āSo, did youā Tadashi!ā Aomine broke off, turning around immediately when he heard the tiny shriek coming from his son.Ā
Tadashi lay on the ground, face first, obviously crying. The two of you ran over and knelt on either side of his tiny body. Aomine helped him up into a sitting position.Ā āWhat hurts, Dashi? Whereā ohh⦠itās not so bad, Tadashi, really. Shh.ā
There was a gash on Tadashiās shin, that was beginning to bleed. Aomine worked hard to distract Tadashi and stop him from crying, while making sure that he didnāt look at the wound. You immediately got to work, going into the backpack youād packed, and pulling out a first aid kit. Silently, you swiftly poured some water on a cotton ball and swiped the wound clean, then wrapped a quick bandage over it.Ā āDone!ā
Aomine leaned over to look at your work, and Tadashi copied him.Ā āOhh, whatāth that?ā Tadashi asked.Ā
āItās a badge!ā You proclaimed, taking out a pen and drawing a star on the white fabric of the bandage.Ā āThere we go! A badge for being really brave!ā
Giggling, he spread his arms out wide, inviting you into a hug that you accepted immediately. Once Tadashi was back on his feet, Aomine gave you a look of love.Ā
āTh-thanks for that.ā He mumbled, scratching the back of his head.Ā āIāve never brought a first aid kit, itās good that you did.āĀ
You smiled and pecked him on the cheek.Ā āItās my job to take care of the both of you!ā
Murasakibara: Murasakibara had been blessed with triplets, before his partner had died of cancer when the triplets turned eight years old.Ā
Almost immediately, Himuro and his old Generation of Miracles teammates, as well as Murasakibaraās large family had gone into action, making sure both Murasakibara and the triplets were taken care of during such a trying time.Ā
Now, theyād settled into a comfortable routine, and all was somewhat well. Besides the fact that the triplets had managed to chase away any partner Murasakibara brought home, if they deemed them unworthy. Which was all of them. But thereād only been two before you.Ā
You were the third, and had held out the longest so farā two months. Murasakibara had invited you over to spend the night with him and his girls, and you were slightly terrified, but ready.Ā
The night had gone surprisingly well, and just before bed, the girls were combing their fatherās hair, painting his nails, and putting jewelry on him while you fed him snacks every once in a while, so that he wouldnāt ruin the nail polish. Finally, Murasakibara yawned widely and stood up, a child hanging from both his arms and neck.Ā āTime for bed~.ā He sleepily announced, easily taking the three of them to their bedroom.Ā
He turned back for only a second to shoot you aĀ āBe right backā smile. You waved at him.Ā
Once he came back, the two of you cuddled on the couch, until the both of you fell asleep. At around two A.M., you woke up, suddenly extremely thirsty. Maybe it was all those salty snacks. Sleepily, you got up and stumbled over to the kitchen.Ā
When you flicked on the light, three girls dressed as demons stood in a line, grinning at you. You shrieked and fell into a wall.Ā āWha- wha⦠what are you guys doing?ā
āScaring you.ā They said at once, smiling creepily. You laughed, rolling your eyes and patting each one on the head.Ā
āWell, you achieved your goal. Do you want some hot chocolate?ā
They looked at you suspiciously.Ā āWe might.ā, one of the girls finally said.
Taking it as a yes, you walked over to a cabinet and opened up the one that carried the mugs, taking down four. Each of them had a different design on it. The girls sat themselves on the kitchen table, watching your every move.Ā
Once the hot chocolate was done, you poured some into each cup, put them on a tray, and brought it to the table. Before they reached out for them, you stuck a hand out.Ā
āWait, Iāll give them to each of yours. This oneāā the mug with the cats with heart eyes,Ā āis yours, Yuko. This is Yumiāsāā the mug with the galaxy pattern,Ā āand finally, this is Yumikoās.ā The last mug was printed with dragons. You took your own mug and sipped the drink peacefully.Ā
The girls stared at you.Ā āYouā¦ā
ā⦠got ourā¦ā
ā⦠names right! And the mugs too!ā
They were shocked. But you finished up your drink and ruffled Yukoās hair.Ā āWhy wouldnāt I get it right? Hurry and finish so that I can put you three back to bed.ā
Akashi: You smiled as you watched Akashi and his son, Hajime, sift through a large pile of books in their home library. They were picking out all of next weekās bedtime stories, as per usual.Ā
Once they were done, Hajime put the pile of books in his small wagon and started to trek back towards his bedroom, whereād heād stack them on this bedside table.Ā
Akashi approached you, running a hand through his hair tiredly.Ā āSorry about that, ____, Iād forgotten that we had to pick out books today.ā
You shook you head, smiling.Ā āI think it was really cute. But⦠you do seem tired. And you never forget book day. Are you okay?ā
He glanced over your shoulder to make sure Hajime was far enough before taking your hand and finally letting all of his exhaustion show. You had him sit down immediately.Ā āSeijuurou! You look so tired! Did something happen?ā
āI know I shouldnāt be sharing my worries when they have nothing to do with you, but⦠some business partner of mine has found his way in the middle of a scandal, and it might affect the company if I donāt do damage control. However, I donāt want to neglect Hajime either, Iām away from him enough as it is. I really donāt know what to do. Hiring a babysitter would be like giving away my responsibilities, and I donāt want that.Ā ā
Pulling Akashi into a hug, you murmured words of comfort, rubbing his back. You felt him melt into your embrace, and his breathing slow down slightly. He was relaxing, finally.Ā āSeijuurou, if the problem affects you, then itās my problem as well. Donāt hide these things from me, okay? Let me take care of Hajime, at least for tonight. You can get some work done then go to sleep right away. You need it.ā
āI want to take care of Hajime. Youāre my partner, not Hajimeās babysitter.ā He weakly protested, voice muffled by the fabric of your shirt.
You pulled back and fixed Akashi with a stern look.Ā āAs your partner, Iām automatically Hajimeās co-caretaker. I love the kid to bits, I want to take care of him. Please let me. I want to take care of both of you. Please.ā
Sighing, he nodded.Ā āJust for tonight. If anything goes wrong, tell me immediately.ā
And so you played with Hajime, as you usually did, and Akashi went back to work, after some insistence from you. The real test was during bed time. Once Hajime was all tucked in, he held Sundayās book and stared at the door expectantly.Ā
āHaji⦠would it be okay if I read you your story tonight?ā You asked quietly, smoothing out his blankets.Ā
He shook his head.Ā āThank you, ___-san, but Otou-san always reads me my stories. Iāll wait for him.ā
You tried to think up a different tactic. Slowly, you sat down next to him on the bed, and glanced at the book.Ā āWhatās the book called?ā
āThe Blue Bug Makes Friends With the Purple Turtle.ā Hajime stated, still staring at the door.Ā
āAh⦠may I see it? Just for a bit?āĀ
Narrowing his eyes at you, he reluctantly handed the book over. You flipped through the pages, grinning and laughing slightly.Ā
Hajimeās straightened his back and tried to peek over your arm, at the book.Ā āWhat? What?ā
You shut the book, smiling at the small boy.Ā āAh, itās nothing. The book is really funny, is all.ā
āHow is it funny? Tell me.ā He demanded.Ā
You shook your head.Ā āThatāll ruin the story. You should just wait till your Otou-san reads it to you.ā
Fidgeting, Hajime went back to staring at the door for a few seconds before turning to you almost desperately.Ā āOkay, fine, read me the story. But you better have different voices for all the characters.ā
At three A.M., Akashi walked into his sonās room, exhausted, only to find Hajime and you cuddled up together, sleeping, book still in your hand. Smiling fondly, he took the book from you and grabbed a blanket, draping it over your body before getting into the other side of the bed, arm thrown over both his son and the love of his life.Ā
