Bokuto and Tendou friendship headcanons
One word. Loud. These two are so loud and if they were ever studying in a library together, it would be the picture perfect upset librarian whisper yelling “SHHHHHHHH’ at them at least 9 times before just just tells them to leave.
You know how Tendou is sad that no one wants to talk about Shounen Jump? You know who will talk his ear off about Shounen Jump? Bokuto. These two can talk about SJ for hours on end.
That’s actually how they probably met. They were both buying SJ and Tendou flipped through to the chapter he wanted to read the most. Bokuto just happened to be standing next to him and saw that he was going to his favorite manga as well and welp. A friendship has blossomed.
They hoot together.
They do tend to butt heads just a little bit at times though.
Sometimes Bokuto can’t tell when Satori is being sarcastic and he may or may not go into a slight dejected mode and ignore him for a while. He’ll do that thing, “What’s that noise? I can’t really make it out? Wait is someone talking to me?”
He makes up with Tendou after he says he’ll buy him lunch.
They play video games together when they have the time. Whether it’s at their homes or online it’s fine. Tendou likes Overwatch a little more then COD. He digs Genji’s butt
They take so many dumb selfies together. So many dumb selfies.
Iwaizumi is definitely the “responsible one” trope in relationships. He is very protective of you, often speaking for you, standing up for you, and doing most physical labor for you. He doesn’t mean this to be disrespectful or anything, it’s just in his nature to take charge and do things for them. If his you don’t feel comfortable with this, he will stop if asked.
In the beginning of your relationship, things are a little awkward. He’s not very experienced with romance, so most “romantic” things he does are from movies or recommended to him by Oikawa. It doesn’t always go off as planned, but it’s endearing nonetheless. He’s pretty bad at initiating PDA as well. He does not want to push your boundaries or make you uncomfortable. As time goes on, he starts loosening up and will start easing into general relationship things.
He’s oddly very receptive to affection. If you hug or kiss him in public he’s not really embarrassed and will return the gesture. He may blush a little bit, but other than that, there is no real reaction from him, especially if you are one to spark PDA often. He’s just neutral to it. It is a completely different scenario in front of his team, though. He gets so embarrassed when they witness him doing anything slightly romantic with you (He knows it will follow with relentless teasing from his fellow third years).
Iwaizumi takes care of you just as well as he takes care of himself. He usually buys groceries (or gives you a grocery list) with lots of healthy food and likes to cook most nights. If you guys go shopping together, he tries to be the adult, but he can’t resist being a little childish with you. If you load the cart up with sweets, he will give you a look, but he won’t say anything against it (because he wants some too tbh). He’d also be our workout buddy (but more like your own personal trainer tbh). He will do his best to get you to work out with him, and if you do, he will spend a lot of time showing you how to do things properly. Even i you already know how to do them, you just sit quietly and listen. It’s so cute when he he’s excited to teach you something new.
He won’t say it out loud, but you definitely need to come to his games every once in awhile. It gives him a little bit of comfort and an extra drive to do his best when you’re in the stands, cheering him on loudly or silently. He looks so cute when he’s focused and it’s amazing to see how strong he is on the court. Also, his arms are on great display, and you can’t pass up an opportunity to see that.
Movie nights are definitely a big thing between you guys! He not very picky, any movie you want to watch he just complies with. However, he likes Disaster/Action/Adventure movies, and would like to watch some of those with you. He makes some mean kettle corn (but he won’t tell you how he makes it smh)!!
He puts off introducing you to the team for a while, but eventually, the time comes. You became familiar with Oikawa when you first started dating. He was a little annoying at first and he constantly teased Iwazumi about “finally getting a girlfriend” but after speaking to him for a few minutes, you could tell he really cared about his friend and was a nice person (and then he made his exit by saying “Ciao you guys, remember to use protection!~” You had to stop Iwaizumi from throwing his shoe at him). His teammates either take a liking to you or act very respectful. The underclassmen (even Kyoutani) treat you with the utmost respect, it’s a little embarrassing. You get along well with the other third years, they are all pretty nice and invite you to attend a game! (What you don’t know is after you leave they all sing the K-I-S-S-I-N-G song to Iwaizumi and he almost combusts)
Iwaizumi has a little bit of an anger issue, and it’s really up to you to calm him down. He can get worked up and stressed over things easily, too. It’s best to just give him space when he’s upset and just come back to him after he’s cooled off. It’s really easy to talk to him about it though and he’s not above apologizing for scaring you or making you uncomfortable.
He definitely keeps a chore log and makes sure you two are doing a fair share of work around the house. He thinks the way your house looks shows who you are as a person and he likes to keep a clean environment. But you guys still have lazy sundays.
He definitely wants at least one or two dogs around the house. He thinks they are good training buddies and family pets, it would be fun to have a couple of pups to hang out with around and outside the house. Also, he read an article about how they can help prepare you for the responsibility of having a baby. If you guys get some, he will definitely spoil them like they are children. Sometimes he even feeds them off his plate. Stop him before he starts fixing them a seat at the dining room table.

You let out a groan as your girlfriends all gushed over the one and only: Oikawa Tooru. It was currently after school and they were waiting near the gym to see said boy after his volleyball practice. It was gross how they seemed to have his schedule memorized and followed him like little puppy dogs.
"You know, all you guys talk about is Oikawa. There are other cute guys at Aoba Jousai besides him.“ you begin to tell them, but they quickly retaliate.
"Oh really? And who here is cuter than Oikawa?” one of them piped up with her eyebrow raising in question.
"Well for starters, the entire volleyball team is pretty cute. But have you seen his best friend Iwaizumi?“ you closed your eyes and let out a frustrated groan. “Oh my god Iwaizumi.”
The girls chuckled a little but you only thought it was because they were poking fun at you since you thought that his friend was cuter. “What about Iwaizumi?”
"What do you mean, ‘What about Iwaizumi?’ Have you not seen him??“ you asked in an astonished and even a bit offended tone. "That boy is going to be the death of me I swear! His arms specifically- you must be blind if you don’t think that his arms are perfect. Oikawa wouldn’t stand a chance against him in an arm wrestling match and you all know it. Oikawa’s arms would snap in half under those beautiful, tan, perfect arms.” you pointed at them, knowing that they had to agree.
"Yeah yeah yeah…“ one waved you off with a roll of her eyes.
"So (F/N)~” another friend started with a small smirk. “Would you like his ‘beautiful, tan, perfect arms’ around you?” she quoted your description.
"You already know the answer to that! It’s a yes from me.“ you chuckled lightly, a small blush appeared on the apples of your cheeks thinking about them and once again, a frustrated groan left your lips.
”(Y/N)-Chaaaan~ Is that really what you think??“ you could practically hear the mocking and fake pout in his voice as he spoke but it made you freeze completely. You knew that whiney voice belonged to and where he was- Iwaizumi was. "You don’t think I could beat Iwa-chan arm wrestling?? Iwa-chan what do you think??”
But before Iwaizumi even had a chance to speak, even though he probably wasn’t-he was too embarrassed and flustered by what he had heard you say about him- you spoke up quickly. “Okay. I’m going to go home now because if I don’t look behind me and I don’t see them that means they aren’t there and they didn’t hear a single word. So with that being said-” you gave your friends a small wave and started to walk off. “Goodbye.”
You knew that he heard everything and you heard your friends giggling behind you. “I hate you all!” you called to them, not turning around.
"Love you too~!“ they all laugh one or two louder than the others with an annoying male laugh mixed in.
"H-Hey!” a voice calls out to you and quick footsteps follow in suit. You try to walk a bit faster knowing that it was Iwaizumi. You were already embarrassed enough as it was and you didn’t particularly want to face him. “Wait!”
Reluctantly though, you slow your pace and let him catch up to you, twiddling with your bag strap that you have a tight grip on. Your eyes dart around, anywhere that isn’t in the green eyes of the boy standing next to you.
"Um.. so..I..can I walk you home?“ the taller boy asked you awkwardly, scratching his blushing cheek.
"If you want to…” you replied clearly just as awkwardly but there was a slight stutter in your words that was unintentional.
The silence was broken soon by the volleyball ace. “So I hear you really like my arms?”

Matchup? I’m outgoing, I’m the person at a party who will try to make sure everyone is having a good time and that no one is being ignored. I love having people over to enjoy good food, games and laughs with. But I can also be quite the homebody when my energy is drained from work or too many social activities in a row (it’s a delicate balance I guess). I love to make people happy and try to listen to their needs as well as their wants so I can make that happen. If it’s not possible, then I’ll just be there for you. I’ve often been told I’m faithful, a friend you can count on even if the two of us haven’t seen or even spoken to each other in a long time. I try not to burn bridges but if I feel a person is toxic to my health I’ve grown better at letting them go rather than constantly trying to “fix” the relationship. I’m protective of my friends and tend to “mother” or “big sister” them a lot but it’s never seemed to garner negative reactions, people tend to like to be taken care of every once in a while. I can be explosive in my feelings, whether they are good or bad but I work hard to balance and not become a crazy person. As much as I love being surrounded by friends or family, I value one on one time with the people closest to me because that is really where relationships are fostered and solidified. I’m the person you can call at any hour of the day or night and if I’m able to help you, I will.

Ushijima likes people who have their lives in order, whether it be with sports, academics, or merely just social interaction. Although he wouldn’t admit it, he does like it when somebody watches over him, especially since he isn’t always the most careful with his life. He isn’t used to being worried about- his mother not knowing much about volleyball to help and the people around him are too caught up in his abilities to realize that he is, in fact, a human being too. It would be the faithful side of you that made him fall, the side that treats him like a person rather than a machine.
He likes that you’re more sociable than he is, since he can’t really strike a conversation himself. He’s more of a listener than a speaker, regardless. You seem like the kind of person that always takes on the problems of the world before you even realize your own, and Ushijima would understand that more than you do. When you ask for your alone time, he gives you your alone time- in relationships with Ushijima, respect always comes first.

Okay so this is a mess. Tendou would work well with Ushijima (obviously) Kuroo (since they have similar personalities, provocation wise) and Oikawa (he gets a long with anyone). Although, Oikawa and Ushijima wouldn’t get along very well, at first. Ushijima is willing to work with Oikawa and accepts his talents, but Oikawa still holds a childish grudge against him. At first Oikawa would only ever set to Iwaizumi, but it would take Iwaizumi to force Oikawa into getting along with the rest of the team and drop his petty grudge. After a while, Oikawa would warm up to Ushijima as a teammate, but will always set to Iwaizumi if he’s given the chance. I would put Nishinoya and Asahi on the same team, since they’re the most over looked, best working team out there. Nishinoya pretty much gets along with everyone, and would be a bit excited that he’s on the same team as his biggest high school competitor. Tendou and Kuroo become partners in crime, and the most dangerous part of the team. Sure Ushijima’s hits are impeccable, Oikawa’s sets are always precise, and Nishinoya never misses a save, but its almost impossible to get passed the wall these two build.

Bokuto sighed, relaxing, in his opinion, in the fluffiest, most comfortable seat in the house. It was the prime position in the whole café to get a view of everything. He could clearly see who was going through the door, the café menu, all the people talking to each other, and of course, the owls.
what’s more romantic than a proposal scenario on valentine’s day? and with my husband too! this is so self-indulgent and i swooned the entire time i wrote it. i made the reader a teacher at karasuno for the sake of ease regarding the last part and also because i referenced this scenario in it too.
i had no idea how to decorate the gym forgive me so it’s very understated but the boys didn’t have a big budget
and that’s it for valentine’s day updates! even though i didn’t get to finish as much as i would have liked for the occasion, i was able to carve out some good chunks for some other request so expect them in the next few days!
This should have been easy. Ukai’s at a loss at what to do now. He’s been keeping that box in his pocket all week long, anticipating the right moment to pop the question to you.
The whole point of a casual yet intimate proposal is that, unless he really screws up the lead-in, it would go without a hitch. There’s no need to depend on others and potentially embarrass you in the process. Not that either of you like those over-the-top proposals anyway.

If there was one thing Tendou hated, it was his self-consciousness that always kicked in at worst time possible. He meddled with his fingers, biting his lower lip as he stared at the exit where people were coming from. He was waiting and the longer he waited, worse he felt. He was waiting for you to step into his vision somewhere after you told him you will go to Japan for a vacation.
But what if you changed your mind?
What if you decided to lead him on only to leave him waiting for you?
What if you didn’t want anything with him?
What if you saw he was called ‘monster’?
“You’re making that face again.”
Tendou blinked and almost screamed if it weren’t for your soft expression that he saw in front of him. He held his breath that he let out when you smiled and reached out for his hand. He relaxed.
“You’re here…” He murmured like he couldn’t believe it. “I…I though you’d…”
“I told you I’ll come even if I have to row.” Your cheeks heated up at your confession and looked away.
Tendou smiled when he saw just how your cheeks darkened, how your eyes tried to focus on anything else and how your lips moved as you mumbled to yourself. Everything felt so different, so…so much more alive as you stood in front of him instead of being behind camera and on the other side of the globe. Now you were within his arms reach and there was no way he was letting you go.
“You’re cute.” Tendou blurted out.
Your eyes widened and you turned to him only to see his face dark, almost matching with his red hair. You weren’t sure if you should laugh at his expression or hide your face as you felt it heat up once more.
“Y-you’re not being fair!” Your lips turned into a pout and this time it was Tendou, who laughed, pulling you in his embrace without a second thought. You buried your face in his chest and closed your eyes, feeling how warm he was and how nice he smelt of freshness and ocean. You took in a breath and smiled, nuzzling your nose before realizing.
Pulling away before Tendou even had a chance to hug you completely, you grinned. Tendou narrowed his eyebrows, but widened his eyes when you grabbed him for collar and pulled him down into a kiss. You didn’t care if there were people watching you, you weren’t letting the chance go by. You wanted to surprise him.
Tendou gasped into the kiss with eyes looking at your closed ones, but didn’t hesitate to kiss you back. You felt one of his arms wrapping around your lower back and pulling you closer to his chest while with other he caressed your cheek, his eyes closing.
You felt your smile growing until you pulled away, your eyes still closed. Tendou rested his forehead against yours and let out the breath he unknowingly held. Feeling his warm breath on your skin, you sighed.
“I wanted to do this…” You admitted.
“Heh,” Tendou laughed and pulled away, tugging a strain of hair behind your ear. “I have lots of things planned for us.” His thumb caressed your lower lip, his eyes focused on them completely.
“Yeah? I have too.” You grinned. “I searched a bit on internet and there’s one place I really wanna see.”
“Oh?” He raised an eyebrow as he reached for your luggage. He held your hand with his other and smiled as the two of you began walking towards exit. “Which one is it?”
“You’ll see~” You sang and tilted head to the side, laughing when he whined. “I wanna see you play before!” You pouted. “I saw it on youtube, but it’s nothing like real deal!”
“First we need to go to my house and then we can do what you wish.” Tendou smiled.
You gaped and stopped. He looked at you in confusion. “Tendou I know would go around the town without a second thought!” Taking a step away, you glared at him. “Who are you and what have you done to my Tendou?”
Tendou blinked in surprise. You barely held back your laughter at his expression. Seeing that you were teasing him, he snorted before you both burst into laughter.
You had no doubt that this will be the best vacation you ever had.
A relationship with Oikawa comes with its ups and downs, yet it’s worth it. If you’re one that gets easily bored without some sort of challenge,, a relationship with him would be ideal for you. If you aren’t willing to make some sacrifices, it won’t end well. If you’re willing to be devoted to him,however, then he will pay you back tenfold with loyalty, some material things (if you’re into that), and lots of love.
He’s generally very good in a relationship. While Oikawa enjoys the status and perks being in a relationship, he enjoys the smaller things as well. Having someone to hold hands with, hang out with,kiss. Small intimate things make him very giddy, it’s almost like he’s never been in a relationship before. He doesn’t always make a huge show of your relationship either. He may do it as a joke in front of friends, but he really prefers to be serious when he’s alone with you. In the beginning of your relationship, he pays a lot of attention to you and maintaining your relationship. As time goes on, he loosens the reins and gives you more space, but he doesn’t ever completely ignore you.
The only exception being when he’s focused on volleyball. Usually Oikawa can handle himself, but as we all know, he has the tendency to overdo it. Oikawa is very focused on school and volleyball, and he will neglect his own needs and your relationship’s needs. If you’re not willing to accept this provocation, this can easily lead to a few fights and a potential break up. If you are willing to fix this, it’s up to you to let him know when enough is enough and talk to him about it. Iwaizumi can only do so much, and Oikawa needs your second opinion to realize when he’s overworking himself and stressing your relationship. Oikawa may be a little defensive at first, depending on how stressed he is, but he will eventually come around and apologize to you. This will definitely be a huge milestone in your relationship and bring the two of you closer together.
Oikawa will put up a personality for you at first during a relationship. He’s very insecure about you finding his weak points and negative aspects, he just wants you to think he’s perfect in every way out of fear of you leaving him. This persona drops once he starts getting comfortable in your relationship and he no longer feels vulnerable in your presence. He’ll joke around more, be more childish (in a good way, like being very curious about random things and unafraid to share his interests).
Intimacy with him really just depends on his mood. Generally, he is a pretty affectionate person and enjoys being touched or touching you. But sometimes he really just isn’t in the mood for cuddling, but will hold your hand or lean against you if you are really in the mood for cuddling.
Oikawa is very, very good at remembering important moments and dates. He has a whole Pinterest folder of unique date and gift ideas to surprise you with. His favorite would be one he surprised you with a picnic! It was pretty late at night and in the middle of nowhere, so you were pretty scared he was going to kill you or something. To your relief, he just had a regular date planned. However, he had found out about a recent meteor shower happening where you two were at. It was truly a memorable moment to see all of them shooting across the sky on a warm spring night with your equally as gorgeous boyfriend.
However, dates between you two don’t always need to be elaborate. Oftentimes the best moments are spent when you guys make dinner together after a long day and just listen to chill/relaxing music and just enjoying each other’s company. Oikawa WILL throw flour at you, you’ll respond by flicking some potatoes at him, and things just escalate from there. At least he will help you clean up, too.
He will talk your ears off about space, conspiracies, and everything in between. Once you’ve been dating for a while, his real personality shines through and he becomes unhinged. It’s actually quite adorable, and he has such a childlike wonder or intense seriousness in his eyes depending on the topic. If you ever add something to the conversation, he is thrilled.
He thinks it is very important he gets the team’s, but mainly Iwaizumi’s, approval of you once things start getting pretty serious. You’ll know when he’s serious about your relationship if he nervously introduces you to them. They are all pretty easygoing and think you’re a good person though, so he didn’t have much to worry about in the first place.There’s a likely chance you’ll become good friends with Hanamaki and Matsukawa, making Oikawa jealous (but also he’s super happy they like you). Iwaizumi is pretty easy to get along with as well, and he will thank you for making his best friend so happy.
He will still be friendly to fangirls when in a relationship, but he never flirts with them or even implies anything romantic. If they bully, harass, or hurt you in any way, he will not be afraid to step in and tell them off. You likely won’t run into that issue, though. Most of them are either surprisingly friendly to you (Oikawa has just been in such a good mood since beginning dating you and they have to thank you for it) or avoid you.
