Headcanons for how and where Karasuno would propose to their girlfriend please

mme-hajime:

My pleasure.

Sawamura Daichi

  • Daichi would want it to be intimate – he wants the proposal itself to be simple, at a place that means a lot to you; Maybe you’ve had your first date there, maybe a really memorable night. Whatever it was, when you go there, your heart is filled with love and you’re both smiling at the memory
  • With his heart pounding so hard he is afraid you’ll hear it, he waits for a moment; for a pause, for a second of peace before he starts to tell you all the things he loves about you and your time together
  • Of how much he wants to cherish you for the rest of his days, of how much he adores you and being with you makes him the best he can be; It sounds cheesy, but it is perfect, it is honest and it contains all his true feelings
  • And then he’ll propose. He’ll take your hand and go to one knee, and as you struggle to realize what he’s up to your eyes are already filled with tears of joy;

Sugawara Koushi

  • Suga loves the moments of daily life with you. The way you fit perfectly in his arms, your head resting at the crook of his neck, his fingers resting on your soft smooth skin.
  • Moments like those bring him so much happiness, and he just wants to live this happiness until he takes his last breath. The longer you’ve been together, the more he feels the urge to make you his, to let the world and everyone know that you belong
  • He picks a day, the day that is closest to the moment the realitation hits – a day you can both stay in bed, a special occasion, whatever comes up first. And he’ll snuggle up, nuzzle your neck, tease you and kiss you a lot. You start to wonder what has gotten into him lately as he got up and prepared breakfast
  • It’s a feast. Your favorites, sweet and savory, and flowers – where did they come from? It’s a moment full of happiness. And he will use that morning to ask you if you want to marry him, and he’ll make you promise yourself to him over and over again in a heated whisper all day.

Azumane Asahi

  • He is so nervous, he jumps every time you walk in on him as he looks at rings, places, inspiration for how he should propose. Someone recommended pinterest and he is browsing around, looking over his shoulder constantly so you won’t catch him
  • He really wants to marry you, and he really wants it to be special – but his nerves make him break a sweat just thinking about it and even more so when he has to fear you’re going to find it out before he gets the chance to make this perfect
  • But the universe aligns and Asahi will find a perfect ring when he expects it the least, just browsing through and seeing something that screams you; It’s like it all works out then, because he feels more at ease, feels like now he can do it – the ring giving him courage, knowing it will look so beautiful on you.
  • He takes you out on a date night, surprising you with tickets to the theatre. You look dashing, you always do, and he has to force himself not to stare at you all night. You notice him stealing glances though, and you find you enjoy the effect you still have on him
  • Once the night comes to an end and you find yourself in a more private setting, he’ll propose – he’ll be gentle and kind, his voice strong and shy both, as he asks you to spend the rest of your lifes with each other

Nishinoya Yuu

  • Noya just blurts his intentions out the moment his emotions overcome him; he holds you close and his heart is so full he could burst, so he tells you that he wants you to be his wife.
  • And at your giggle, he admits he is serious, that it would be marvellous – he’d go off, telling you all the amazing things he has experiences since he met you, confessing his love all over again as he looks you in the eyes, dead serious as he asks you if you would please be his wife
  • Once you say yes, Noya is so excited he can barely contain it. This is the best thing ever – and to celebrate it, and because it was such a spontanious proposal, he makes up for it by planning the perfect date with you. Going ice skating, having fun, holding hands and eating at your favorite place – and you’ll end up getting a ring too, a really shiney and pretty one.

Tanaka Ryuunosuke

  • Once he realizes he wants to spend his life with you, wants to call you his wife and be your husband, Tanaka keeps thinking about how to do it – he wants it to be special, something that would bring you to tears just remembering it for years to come.
  • He takes Noya with him to look for a ring that suits you and he keeps talking about the best way to propose to you – Noya lets Tanaka talk mostly, nodding and pushing him to find the right way that suits you both
  • Tanaka chooses to propose in private too – he will take you out for a two day vacation, a short trip to ease the strain of daily life and while you wonder what brought it on, you simply enjoy the love he gives to you
  • As you watch the sun set in silence, Tanaka knows this is his moment; he asks you to marry him, his voice a little high and his smile a shy one as he makes sure you know that it would be the best thing ever for him to spend his life with you.

Ennoshita Chikara

  • Ennoshita will be very creative about it; He collects pictures and movie strips he made from you, short clips whenever you were out together. He makes a little movie of all the years you’ve spent together and he is proud of the result.
  • Once your anniversary comes around, that’s the perfect time to do this – you wouldn’t suspect his motive watching a movie about your years together on your anniversary. He has prepared your favorite dessert, the apartment smelling really nice and clean, and he looks very handsome and biteable in just his simple jeans and shirt.
  • The movie will bring you to tears and he’ll hug you, holding you a little longer than expected – when you try to move he pulls you back, kissing your head and taking a deep breath before taking half a step back, looking into your eyes. It’s now or never.

Kinoshita Hisashi

  • It happens when you’ve been together for a while – the topic has never come up, but once he sees a show on tv with a beautiful bride he can’t help but see you in a wedding gown
  • The image makes him stare at you and you blush, his gaze intense. He turns away once he realizes he has been staring, his ears turning pink as well. It feels like when you started out dating, when he was a shy mess yet unsure of how to date
  • He takes you on a spontanious trip, a romantic one – not cliché, but very you. You enjoy dinner, have fun and joke around, and you don’t see it coming. He asks you to go for a walk, to settle your stomachs since you ate so much
  • And once you arrive under a big tree, he turns to you with the most gentle expression, a shy smile playing around his lips as he goes down on one knee.

Narita Kazuhito

  • Has been paying a lot of attention to you always; He knows what you like and dislike, and he has become your greatest supporter in such a loving way, you can’t help but look for him whenever you get nervous.
  • It happens one day, when your friends start asking you about marriage and children; You haven’t been thinking much about it before, everything just felt good the way it was.
  • Narita notices your thoughts wandering, sees you watching bridal shows and when he asks you about it, you laugh it off nervously. He sees you wondering and he gets curious himself, talking to a friend about his thoughts on the matter
  • He decides to ask for your parents permission – he knows this to be old-fashioned, but he likes to do it in order, likes to know that you have your parents blessings.
  • He takes you to a festival, rides the ferris wheel with you – your eyes shine just like the stars as you marvel at the view, your gaze flying all over town. You look so beautiful, and he knows right then and there that there is no joy greater than to have you by his side forever. So he asks you, giving you a soft kiss and a smile, sharing his feelings before he proposes formally to you, holding out the ring your mother gave to him for you.

Kageyama Tobio

  • Kageyama wants to marry you. He really does. But he has no idea how to spring that idea on you. While he has gotten used to being intimate with you, he is still the awkward blueberry everyone knows and loves
  • So he keeps trying to educate himself on the matter – what do women expect from a proposal? How is he supposed to do it? Until Hinata finds one of the magazines Kageyama bought.
  • Kageyama is almost ready to give up on the perfect proposal when he suddenly sees the perfect ring. Delicate, reminding him of you the instant he sees it. He just has to get it, and he does.
  • And everything comes together nicely. He picks you up from club/classes/pracitce/work and he still has the ring right there in his pocket. He still hasn’t come up with a perfect scenery
  • But when you stop mid-stride and stare at the setting sun, the warm orange light making the angles of your face shine with your natural beauty he can’t help it.
  • He takes your hand and tugs at it until you turn, looking at him. He wears an honest and warm smile, his eyes full of love as he asks you “Will you please marry me?”

Hinata Shouyou

  • When you’re out on a date with Hinata, wherever you go he just holds your hand. He can’t help it, he loves it – the soft feel of your hand in his. He tugs at it, wanting to show you the baby cubs at the zoo, too adorable not to show you. And as you watch them with a smile, Hinata watches you, his cheeks turning a bright pink as his thoughts wander to your future, to the mental image of having children with you.
  • You turn, quizzical look on your face at seeing him blush in such a deep pink; But he just shakes his head, mumbling something about having to get married first.
  • You wonder what that was all about, but you know better than to push. He’ll tell you once he is ready, and you enjoy the rest of the date. Little did you know that Hinata was already planning out the whole thing.
  • Later that same day, as he takes you out to get ice cream he can’t help it anymore. He is bad at keeping things from you as it was, and his feelings just spill over. So as you were about to take another lick of your favorite ice cream flavor he tugs at your hand, eyes wide as he tells you that he wants to marry you. That he wants to spend his life with you. Would you… want that too?

Tsukishima Kei

  • It has come to a point were you felt comfortable enough to tease the hell out of Tsukishima – he may act all salty and nonchalant, but it seems you could always get him to be flustered.
  • You tackle him, sitting on his arms as you tried to tickle him. You laugh just bubbles out of you and you lean down, placing a kiss on his lips. “I wouldn’t mind doing this always and forever” you say as you lift yourself up, straightening your closes and wiping your eyes.
  • He gets up next to you, looking at you, golden eyes boring into you with an intensity you’ve barely seen before. A smirk comes to his face as you become clearly more flustered, aware of what you just said. You think about how to redeem yourself or take it back, but you meant it – you could really do this forever.
  • And so could he. “Then let’s”
  • Your eyes widen involuntarily and he let’s out a laugh, tackling you before he gently tucks your hair behind your ear. “Let’s spend forever like this”

Yamaguchi Tadashi

  • Yamaguchi’s parents are the first to broach the subject. They don’t mean to pressure you, they are simply curious, but the conversation had you both blushing and stuttering
  • Later that night, Yamaguchi will ask you if you’re still awake – and what you think. He is afraid you’ve been feeling scared or pressured and when he finds out that you actually like the thought, he feels relief wash over him
  • Because he, too, likes the thought. This is when he starts to collect ideas, when he makes mental notes on things you liked and places you mentioned you’d like to visit. He gathers all the things you seem to have been enjoying lately and plans the perfect dates in a row
  • He has been doing things like this occasionally, showering you with all his love and pampering you, that’s why you don’t realize it sooner. That’s why when you really do find a ring in your dessert your hands fly to your mouth and you can just stare at him, your heart hammering
  • His smile is shy as he nods, as he tells you how much he loves you – as he asks you to spend the rest of your life with him

Ukai Keishin

  • He takes you out to vacation, thinking you both can use a time off – relaxing, enjoying life with just the two of you. And it feels so perfect and nice, to have you in his arms, to play with your hair and just do nothing but laugh with you all day.
  • “I wish we could just stay here” you mutter the words as you press your face into his chest, fingers digging into him as you try to scoot closer. This is pure happiness. And you think you couldn’t possibly be any happier.
  • That’s when he takes a deep breath too, giving your head a kiss. That’s when he starts to tell you all he has been thinking about. About how much happier he is with you. How life becomes just more colorful and radiant as he experiences it with you. How he wants to spend every day waking up to you.
  • It is not a formal proposal. But it is one nonetheless. A silent question, asking you to be there for him forever, a promise, of him to always be your pillar, of always loving you till the day he takes the last breath and even after, if possible.

Takeda Ittetsu

  • Takeda wants everything to go right. He asks your parents for permission, prepares a wonderful dinner, dances with you to your favorite songs. It is a night to remember, a night that makes you feel special and you wonder if you have forgotten an anniversary because this just feels to perfect for a normal date.
  • But it is just him, just him loving you, the ring of his grandmother in his pocket, ready to be presented to you. He kisses you, small pecks everywhere, tells you how beautiful you are – how he has been the happiest ever since you gracefully swooped into his life and made him whole.
  • Takeda is a romantic. He believes in true love, and he knows he found it, knew the moment he laid eyes on you. So he goes to one knee, his smile warming your heart, your soul already knowing what is to come. And it’s the happiest moment you’ve ever experienced.

Shimizu Kiyoko

  • Kiyoko has been waiting to ask you for a while now. Her nerves have been getting to her and she tries to swallow them down, wondering if this was the right way to go. But she refuses to back out now.
  • She planned this night, a violin in her hand as she takes a deep breath. It’s a play organized by friends of hers, and she practiced just for you. Practiced your favorite song just to play it here, in front of so many people, with you sitting in the first row.
  • It goes by smoothly, tears prickling in your eyes. The gesture not lost on you – shy Kiyoko, beautiful radiant Kiyoko, being on stage performing just for you. You knew it was for you, knew she hit every note just to reach your ears.
  • It was the perfect night to propose. The song was her serenade of love to you.

Yachi Hitoka

  • Yachi has been thinking about it for a long time. And she decides that she wants to make it unique and beautiful. She decides that she wants it to be playful – because she loves your laugh, can’t get enough of it.
  • So she asks you for a date, and she doesn’t tell you where you’re going. She just leaves a flyer for you on your dresser, telling you to wear something pretty and comfortable, something you feel good in and to go to a certain spot.
  • She has hung flyers everywhere, drawings of you, of her, of your pets – of anything that connects the two of you, and she made little quizzes to lead you the way. She sends you around town, to beautiful spots, places you’ve visited. It is fun, her quizzes are filled with insiders, with jokes and memories.
  • And when you arrive at the little bakery, the one where you shared a piece of strawberry pie for the very first time, sharing a fork and feeding each other, your smile couldn’t be more radiant. It’s the perfect moment.

Ittetsu Takeda – Prompt #58 – “I’ve been in love with you my
entire life. Ever since the day I first met you.”

Takeda-san? It’s so
nice to meet you, I’m ____ , ______.” He’d never met someone so immediately
friendly and welcoming.

“Takeda-san! Let’s
play house! You be the dad and I’ll be the mom!” Ittetsu blushed furiously but
couldn’t deny you anything so agreed to the embarrassing game despite the rest
of the neighborhood boys teasing him.

“Let’s sit next to
each other on the bus, Takeda-san. I always feel better when you’re close by.”
Words spoken so innocently yet they filled the bespectacled boy’s heart with
pride. Now if only he felt brave enough to tell you how he felt. But, he
reasoned, I have three years, surely before then…

“Can you believe it,
Takeda-san? I got into my dream school! I’m going to America!” Your news
shattered his heart that day but he smiled as brightly as possible, allowing
himself a little bit longer hug to “celebrate”. Now he couldn’t tell you how he felt.

Ittetsu’s hands shook
reading the invitation. A part of him he’d rather not focus on was glad he’d
have to decline; he just couldn’t afford the time or money to go to America for
your wedding. But he made sure to buy one of the more expensive items on your registry,
reasoning he was making up for all the birthdays and holidays he missed sending
you anything.

The day of your
wedding, Takeda-sensei is throwing himself more into work and trying to help at
practice with the boys more to distract himself. This was it, a lifetime’s
amount of love wasted because he was too chicken to ever tell you how he felt.

These memories come flooding back the moment Takeda lays
eyes on you. He’d no idea you’d returned to Japan, much less that you’d be working
at the same school as him. Stepping out of his haze, his hand reaches forward
of its own accord, his voice asking, “_____-san?” as he touches your shoulder.

Turning, your eyes go wide at the sight of your childhood
best friend. For a moment, you’re frozen but then forgetting where you are
spring into his arms, hugging him tightly. Your fellow teachers either scoff or
snicker at the very public display of affection between two people who they,
until a few seconds ago, presumed were strangers.

Stammering in shock and slight embarrassment, Takeda pulls
back to look at your face, forcing his hands to release your arms. “What are
you doing here?” he asks bewildered.

“I came back!” you say cheerfully, eyes shining.

There’s not really time to get the whole story, not when
both of you have classes to teach but Takeda gets enough of his wits about him
to acquire your phone number, promising to call at the end of the work day so
you can make plans to catch up.

The day seems to crawl from that point on but eventually its
duties are done and Takeda is nervously dialing your number.

Hello?” your soft
voice says.

Hello, _____-san, it’s
Takeda. I wanted to see if you’d still like to get together tonight?”

Your enthusiastic affirmative response makes him smile but
it drops away when you add, “I’m so
excited for you to meet Paul!”
It takes him a second to realize you’re
talking about your husband. Feigning his own enthusiasm, Takeda suggests a
simple dinner at a small café in town. Agreeing you get the location from him
and ring off, saying you can’t wait to see him. Hanging up from the call, he
lets out a long sigh. What else did he expect? Of course you would bring your
husband!

Later that evening, Takeda arrives a little early, getting a
table for three near the back for privacy. Not too long after he’s situated you
arrive, pulling behind you a tall, imposing looking man. How in the world did
you end up with someone so…serious?

Standing, Takeda bows his greeting, then extends his hand. “Good
evening, you must be Paul, I’m Takeda Ittetsu, it’s very nice to finally meet
you,” he offers. Paul shakes his hand firmly, murmuring a similar sentiment but
the Japanese teacher can tell he’s just saying what’s expected of him. Which he
can’t exactly fault him for, since Takeda is doing the same thing.

As you settle into your seat, you and Takeda begin talking,
catching up on all the years of events and happenings since you last saw each
other. You’d tried to stay in contact after you left for America but both of
you had fallen short on your promise to stay best friends forever. However, as
he sits reminiscing with you and laughing, Takeda feels like no time has gone
by at all. Which is both great and awful, because he feels his long-buried
feelings for you bubbling to the surface.

Across the table, he can see out of the corner of his eye
Paul sitting back, arms crossed with a scowl on his face and wonders again how
someone as bright and loving as you could be tied to someone so obviously
negative.

To your credit, you’re trying to draw him into the
conversation but Paul isn’t making it easy, offering one word answers or grunts
in response to your questions or requests for opinions. Takeda works hard not
to frown at the man but it’s getting increasingly difficult. He keeps his focus
on you, your eyes, your face, the lovely lilt of your laughter, all of it
pushing his heart more into a blender.

Suddenly, in the middle of his story about Hinata and
Kageyama’s fight, Paul leans his forearm on the table, other arm wrapping
around your waist as he says bluntly, “You know, I finally figured you out. You’re
in love with my wife, aren’t you?”

It’s so unexpected that both you and Takeda sit staring with
wide eyes and slightly gapping mouths.

You’re the first to recover, smacking Paul’s arm, tone split
between incredulity and embarrassment, “What are you talking about Paul?
Takeda-san and I are just friends!” Your emphasis on the word “friends” causes
Ittetsu to flinch, an action not missed by the hyper aware husband.

“Ha, friends my ass, he wants you so much and you’re just
feeding him, the poor bastard,” he goes on.

Now your tone is angry as you reply, “Paul, stop it! This is
not the time or the place or the person to be jealous of!”

Your words make Takeda believe this isn’t the first time
Paul has accused someone of being interested in his wife but he oddly hopes it’s
the first time he’s been right.

You’re going on but Paul cuts you off, “Are you really so
stupid as to not see when someone wants you? Or do you just not care and like to
lead them on and piss me off by playing dumb?”

Clenching his firsts, Takeda stands up, slamming them on the
table. “That’s enough!” he says firmly, drawing your gaze away from your
husband to his face. Paul’s expression is smug satisfaction. Looking at you,
Takeda takes a shaky breath. “I’m sorry, _____-san, but I won’t say it’s not
true. I’ve been lying to you for so long but I won’t lie anymore. I’ve been in love with you my entire life.
Ever since the first day I met you.
” He glances back at Paul, eyes
hardening, “You don’t deserve her and how she ended up with someone so arrogant
and selfish I’ll never know.”

Throwing down some money, he steps away from the table.
Bowing low to you he says, “My apologies, ______-san, but I’ll be going now. It
was lovely to see you again.”

Walking purposefully, other patrons’ eyes following him,
Takeda makes it outside before his entire body starts shaking. How could he do
that? It’s obvious Paul has jealousy issues and now any problems in your marriage
resulting from them are just going to get worse because the two of you work
together and-

“Takeda-san?”

Ittetsu whirls around at the sound of your voice, eyes
widening at your face drenched in tears. He doesn’t hesitate, surging forward
and gathering you in his arms. “I’m so sorry,” he whispers in your hair.

“Don’t be,” you hiccup, pulling back to look at him. “Things
have been going downhill with Paul for a while now. He…he cheated on me and
even though we’ve been going to counseling he keeps waiting for me to retaliate
by cheating on him. So any man who shows even the remotest interest in me,
whether I’m aware of it or not, he harps on. I had hoped coming to Japan would
help, you know, like a fresh start?”

You shake your head, more tears falling which Takeda thumbs
away. When had he moved his hands to your face? But you don’t seem to mind, leaning
into his touch. “Tonight was just the last straw. He…he’s going back to America
to file for the divorce.”

“Oh, ______-san, I’m so sorry,” Takeda says and he means it.
He may not like Paul but he can see this is hurting you badly.

“It…it wasn’t all bad, you know?” you choke out, fresh tears
pouring down. “We…we were really happy for a while. But I wasn’t enough…I tried
so hard…but I’m not enough.”

Takeda leans down, pressing his lips to your forehead before
murmuring against your skin, “You are more
than enough, you’re perfect.”

Sighing, you wrap your arms around his waist, face nuzzling
into his chest. Takeda almost stops breathing at the action but pulls you
closer. You stay like that for a few moments before drawing back, arms still
gripping one another’s.

“Takeda-san, I…I don’t know if…if you’re willing to wait
but-“

His finger covers your lips, eyes focused on yours. Smiling
he says, “I’ve already waited my whole life, a little bit longer is nothing.”
