for my best friend @guessmonsta who is having a bad day. love you fam,  stay strong. ((never have i written for tendou and be warned i am nowhere near as good as you are writing him. also i rushed so you could read before bed)) some are screenshots of the first time i tried posting it cos mobile is being shiz rn

also i think tendou would do this

“The drums are four on the floor! She’s back to the bedroom for one more! I’m the invisible man, who can’t stop staring at the mirror! AT THE M I R R O R!!!”  Tendou yell-sang entering his apartment. What a great day! His afternoon class was cancelled, he had managed to swipe his professor’s blueberry muffin without him noticing, and now he got to come home early to his fantastic, wise-ass girlfriend. It was 2pm, she should be home right?

“Sabrina!” Tendou called out, removing his headphones and throwing his keys to the rack on the wall. He missed the hook as usual, but as a university student who miraculously had a free night alone with his girlfriend, he had one thing on his mind:

Shonen Jump anime marathons in bed.

She had not answered yet. Strange. He walked into the hallway, whistling the tune to the song. “Sabrina! Guess who doesn’t have classes today?” Still no reply. He knocked on their bedroom door, and did not wait for an invitation before entering. “Ben? You alive in here?”

He noticed his girlfriend in bed with the blanket wrapped around her burrito style. Tendou beamed as he saw her. “Hey, Genius! What’s—woah.” He paused as he noticed how red and blotchy her face was. Her eyes were puffy like she had been crying for a while. Sabrina covered her face up instantly.

Happy, Fall Out Boy-singing Tendou was immediately replaced by Whose-Body-Am-I-Going-to-be-Burying-in-the-Woods-Tonight Tendou.

“Sabrina,” Tendou approached her slowly, “is…everything okay?”

“Do I look okay, Satori?” Sabrina snapped back immediately, sniffling and trying to regain control of her breathing. Tendou felt a bit hurt, but he knew she was just upset about…whatever she was upset about.

“Ben, what happened?” He asked her calmly, sitting by her side on the mattress.

“Nothing,” she said bitterly, holding her Giant Isopod plushie tightly.

    “Something is very clearly wrong.”

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Please, come on Sabrina. I just want to help.”

“Well right now you can help by leaving me alone!” she yelled at him, more tears forming in her eyes. This took Tendou by surprise, since Sabrina rarely snapped at him like that. But he nodded slowly.

“Okay, if you want that, then-then sure,” he said patiently. “Call if you need me. I’m just going to the corner market to pick up some things, alright?” Sabrina looked at him with murderous eyes.

“Then leave already.” Tendou, not wanting to anger her more, went out, closing the door behind him and leaving her alone with her Isopod.

He had to do something to help. As the “World’s Best Boyfriend” mug that he had bought himself for Christmas last year so clearly stated: he was the world’s best boyfriend. As such, he had to do something to help his world’s best girlfriend.

Tendou rushed out to the campus library to print out some photos. Afterward, he went to the market and bought all of the supplies needed.

When he got home, Sabrina was still in their room. ‘Good,’ Tendou thought. ‘Stay in there for like the next two hours.’ Tendou went into the kitchen and cracked his knuckles.

“Time to get down to business,” he said to his arranged ingredients on the counter. He got eye level with all of the items. “If you mess this up, I will take all of you outside and set you on fire,” he warned them in a hushed tone. Tendou picked up his cell phone and scrolled through it until he found what he was looking for.

“‘Preheat the oven to 350 F or 177 C’. Okay.” Tendou turned the knob on the oven and went to start putting actual food into the bowl before remembering the oven was full of pots and pans, and panickingly taking them out.

After 2 ½ painstaking hours, a flour covered boy, and somehow managing to get flour on the ceiling, Tendou’s creation was complete. He went and knocked on the bedroom door again.

“Hey, Ben? I got some dinner in case you’re hungry,” he said helpfully. He stood outside the door, proudly holding the fruits of his labor and waiting for her to see. He waited a minute, two minutes, three minutes…

Finally the doorknob turned slowly and the door creaked as it opened up. Sabrina’s red, puffy face made an appearance and Tendou smiled sadly. He held up the cake to her.

“For you, beautiful lady,” he said kindly. Sabrina looked down at the cake, and Tendou caught her smiling a little bit. That, right there, was what he did all of this for. Sabrina smiled back up at him a little bit.

“Did you just Rick Roll me with a cake?” she asked. “I can’t believe you, Satori.”

“The good news is, you don’t have to believe me to eat the cake,” Tendou smiled. He took her hand and, carefully balancing the cake on the other hand, he walked with her to the table, where he already had the plates set up for them. He served her a slice right away. “Wait, wait,” Tendou said before she took a bite. Sabrina watched him press a button on a remote, and she heard the magic, familiar bassline. Tendou smirked.

“PRESSURE!” he sang dramatically as she giggled. “Pushing down on me, pushing down on you, no man ask for!” He sat next to her as she started to eat her cake, and he started having some too. He knew she loved chocolate cake just as much as he loved chocolate ice cream.

“This is actually really good,” Sabrina said through bites of pastry.

“Weird, right? But thanks. By the way—” Tendou pulled out the photos he printed earlier. “These are for you. Some less beautiful than me eye candy for you.” Sabrina smiled as she looked through them.

“Are these all photos of Slash from Guns N’ Roses?”

“Indeed. Also I made you a list,” Satori said with his mouth spilling crumbs everywhere. Sabrina cleared her nose before reading it.

“‘A list of super awesome things, by Tendou Satori,’” she began. “ ‘

  1. Sabrina
  2. my smart-ass girlfriend
  3. Tendou Satori (when in the presence of numbers 1 and 2
  4. scented candles
  5. chocolate (all kinds)
  6. that weird girl who lives w/ me idk I think her name is like Sabrina or something?
  7. Ben
  8. the B in apt 23 (the apt I share w/ 1, 2, 6 & 7)
  9. my girlfriend
  10. outer space ‘’

Sabrina smiled at him, almost ready to cry again judging by the literal tears in her eyes. “Thank you, Satori. This means a lot. I’m sorry I snapped at you before.” He shrugged.

“It wasn’t the first time someone got pissed at me for being annoying. It’s not even the 12th time. Whatever happened to make you upset…I just hope you get better soon,” Tendou answered.

“It’s just…really really stupid.”

“Look, nothing is stupid if it makes you feel, well, anything actually.”

“Okay, well, you remember Noelle, right?”

“Is she the one with the small…?” Tendou cupped his hands in front of his chest. Sabrina nodded.

“Yeah, Pancake Noelle. Anyway she has been treating me like nothing lately. I mean literal garbage gets better treatment than she has been giving me.”

‘I know how that feels,’ Tendou thought silently. He listened intently to his girlfriend’s rant. He felt horrible for her. He knew exactly what it was like to be treated poorly by your own peers. No one should have to go through that kind of bullying and neglect.

“And that’s the story,” Sabrina sighed. “I have to say, I do feel a lot better after saying it out loud.”

“I understand,” Tendou said, holding her hand. “You guys are supposed to be friends and she’s treating you like crap. Just remember you have people who care about you. You have me. What does the Pancake have? She’s named after freaking Santa Claus.”

Sabrina laughed and sniffled. “Did you know Christmas started as a pagan Roman feast involving the sacrificing of children?”

“Ho, Ho, Ho,” he replied sarcastically. Satori kissed the corner of her mouth, catching the frosting that was there. “I love you, Genius.”

“I love you too, Nerd.”

Tendou looked down at his plate, then the cake tray. “Did-did we eat all of that?”

“I had two slices, you ate the rest. I’m good with that though,” Sabrina started to clear the plates.

“Jesus. We’re going to die of sugar intake aren’t we?” She kissed his forehead as she walked to put the plates in the sink.

“It was a small cake,” she said dismissively.

“You know, I heard about a website where you can anonymously send like a whole bucket of gorilla poop to someone…” Tendou suggested.

“Satori! That’s sick!”

“So no?”

“I didn’t say that. Where’s your laptop?”

“Would you like to move in with me?”

The question lands like a pebble in still water. It’s late morning when Ukai asks this; you’ve both only woken up a while ago and are still working on your first cups of coffee. You spent the night as his again—the third time this week–the same as other weeks too. But he’s far from complaining.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Three nights a week is four too short for his liking. He’s starting to notice how quiet it really is the nights you aren’t there. Something’s off in how big his mattress is without you and how he can’t expect your giggling as he’s trying to fall asleep because you thought about that dopey seal video again.

“What?”

Your question is like when the next pebble falls in not three seconds after the first. The ripples in the water are already there, now interrupted with competing waves. He’d barely thought about this before prompting the discussion. Ukai chides himself a little for asking something so important with such a non-chalant approach. You said you always liked that about him, but this wasn’t just your regular old chat to pass the time together.

A little embarrassed, he starts to explain, “Well, we’ve been together for a while now and you’re always over anyway. I think…I think I’ve really taken to the idea of getting to see you here all the time when I come home.”

Your eyes widen at his explanation, but soften only moments later. From a small “o,” your lips curve into a smile.

“I really like that idea too, having you come home to me every night,” you say.

Ukai can hardly contain his grin. When you lean in to kiss him, he pulls you into his lap. This earns a laugh from you, which settles into a giggle when he presses your lips to yours.

He can’t wait for this every day.

Rachel Lauren you beauty! This is so sweet and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you taking time to do this and make me smile.
