serves-up:

Who would Seijoh Fall For?

A/N: I wasn’t originally going to do the First and Second years but I did them anyway? Hopefully I pegged them right 🙂 enjoy!

Oikawa: He finds himself attracted to level-headed, down-to-Earth people who have a fun-loving side to them as well. He doesn’t really have a preference for introverts or extroverts, but it’d be best for whoever he dates to be accustomed to meeting other people and going to games or parties. Oikawa gets stressed easily because he overworks himself and bottles up this side of him/negative emotions in general in order to not distract from his cheery, popular side. Someone who’d be there for him at his worst and won’t judge him and also get him to vent would be great. They need to be sympathetic towards his issues, but strong-minded and won’t let him keep up with behaviors that hurt him or others around him. They also need to understand how important volleyball is to him and can work with his schedule. He’s a pretty affectionate guy too, so anyone receptive to that would be ideal.

Iwaizumi: He prefers people with personality traits similar to his (responsible, rational, mature) but are more animated and childlike (idealistic and inspiring, not immature and overly emotional) than he is. He would enjoy someone with an optimistic view on life and is loyal to the people they associate with. He also likes people who are strong-willed and take charge of situations instead of being a follower or pitying themself. A calm, caring spirit would suit him well, too.

Matsukawa: A chill person with a mischievous side is the perfect match for him. Mattsun just wants someone who’s low maintenance and can have deep conversations with, but can also pal around with him and crack dumb jokes with. He can also be a a tease, so he needs someone who won’t get offended at his comments easily.

Hanamaki: Similar to Matsukawa, Makki wants someone he can easily make jokes with and will tolerate his occasional teasing, however, he prefers more outgoing/louder people to calm people. He also likes people with loud or odd laughter, he really enjoys hearing it and it makes him crack up as well. Also he’s pretty keen on pranks, so someone good at them would be a huge plus in his book.

Kyoutani: Mad Dog-chan gravitates towards people quite unlike him. People who are helpful, kind, and sympathetic towards others catch his eye. His general awkwardness and “tsundere” personality requires whoever he falls for to be outspoken and understanding so they can catch on to the true feelings underlying his intimidating exterior and let him know how they feel.

Yahaba: Definitely more of an introvert man. He likes people who are more on the academic side but can appreciate his love for sports, and respects others. Straight-forward, mature people with a little fire to their personality really strike his fancy. Also someone willing to put him in his place and is unafraid to give others reality checks (without sounding patronizing) is fantastic to him.

Kindaichi: He is a fan of more reserved people who are direct and in control of themselves and their emotions. They must be independent and self-reliant, people who are overly needy or attempt to boss him around in a relationship will drive him away. He prefers those with knowledge of experience with volleyball or play other sports, but book smart people are not entirely unlikable in his eyes.

Another amazing assessment! These feel very true to these characters! Great job!!

First Family Dinner [Kasamatsu Yukio]

imagine-knb:

[Name] was sitting
in a chair at the station, watching as all sorts of people passed her by
and fidgeting with the hem of her dress. Subconsciously, she worried
about it being too short whenever the wind would cause it to flutter an
inch or two up her thigh and she would tug at the ends, trying
desperately to keep it down. Her mother had insisted on her wearing
tights underneath, but [Name] had quickly refused due to the heat of the
weather. Now she was regretting that decision.

Taking her phone
out of the purse she had resting on her hip, she checked the time before
opening up a game app. She had arrived at the station ten minutes
earlier than she should have, wanting to be on time for the special
occasion. She could only hope that Kasamatsu wanted to do the same.

They
had been sitting in the café where they had their first date, the
current one being their third lunch date. [Name] was rambling on about
her friends at school and the activities they were doing. Every so
often, Kasamatsu would grunt or reply to a comment he found interesting,
but for the most part he stayed silent, content with just listening as
he was left to his own thoughts. His cheeks had a very light tinge of
red to them and it was obvious that his mind was preoccupied with other
things, but [Name] merely brushed it off as his natural nervous
tendencies.

“H-hey,” he interrupted, steel blue eyes
meeting hers for a brief second before glancing away. Instead of idly
shaking, his hands played with the napkin on the table in front of him,
picking at it and tearing off pieces. “My parents were wondering… U-uh,
dinner. W-would you like to come over for d-dinner?”

[Name]
felt heat rise to her face and her eyes widened at the offer, staring
at him with slight shock. She opened her mouth, blurting out a few
incoherent words before she could get out a comprehensible sentence.

“D-dinner?
I mean, isn’t it a bit early? W-we’ve only been dating for a week
a-and, I mean, w-we’re not even official…” She trailed off, noticing how
Kasamatsu clenched his teeth at her words, like she was force feeding
him something bitter. Looking down towards her empty plate, the heat on
her cheeks intensified. “But… If you don’t mind, I guess we could. Have
dinner, I mean. Y-yeah, dinner with your family sounds nice.”

She
heard what she thought was a sigh of relief from her companion at the
table and, braving a glance, she found that he was staring at her with
determined eyes and a redder face.

“G-good. It’ll be next week Saturday then.”

Cursing
as she lost yet another life in her game, [Name] pressed the button to
restart from the checkpoint, hoping she could avoid her character’s
inevitable doom.

“H-hey, [Name]-san.”

[Name] looked up from
her phone, mentally cursing as she heard the sound of her character’s
death play through the small speaker. Walking towards her was Kasamatsu,
his hand up in a small greeting as he quickly closed the distance
between them. [Name] smiled and walked towards him after putting her
phone away to close the distance faster, lacing her hand with his once
they were close enough. In turn, this caused Kasamatsu to sputter at her
open display of affection, trying desperately to shake her off at first
before settling into the feeling of her smaller hand in his.

“W-we should get going,” Kasamatsu grunted as he led her in the direction of his house.

“Okay,” [Name] agreed, following his pace as they walked together.

The
walk to his house was a silent one, neither of them saying anything for
the most part of it. Every so often, Kasamatsu would cast a glance down
to [Name], memorizing the facial features she made as she thought about
the dinner to come. Her brows were furrowed slightly and her eyes
shined with a certain worry. Her lips, shinier than usual—was she
wearing makeup?—were placed in a slight pout and Kasamatsu couldn’t help
but think she looked cute in that moment. He cursed himself for
allowing his blush to reappear at the thought, his eyes quickly darting
away so he could calm himself down. He didn’t want to become a trembling
mess this early into the evening.

“I’m nervous.”

The sudden
confession caused both Kasamatsu and [Name] to stop in their tracks on
the sidewalk. Letting go of his hand and moving off to the side, [Name]
leaned against a wall nearby as she closed her eyes to take calming
breaths. It was at that moment Kasamatsu could notice the slight shaking
in her hands and the subtle waver in her voice. It was strange watching
her suffer through the nervous habits he would often be victim to. He
felt bad for thinking that he would be the only nervous one at this
dinner. Instinctively, his hand reached out to her own and he squeezed
it once, hoping to calm her down.

“What about?” He asked, forcing himself not to stutter as he tried to be a pillar of support.

“A
lot of things,” she admitted, opening her eyes to stare at the
sidewalk, “Do I look okay? Am I dressed okay? Will they like me? Will
they hate me? I really want tonight to go well. I really want it to
work, for us to work. I… I really like you…”

The last part of her
confession, though spoken quietly, resounded in Kasamatsu’s mind. He
felt the need to comfort her in her time of worry, but his inexperience
with these types of situations caused him to pull a blank on what to do.
After a silent moment, Kasamatsu found himself taking her face into his
shaking hands. Mustering up as much courage as humanely possible, he
looked her straight in the eyes before quickly bending down to place a
chaste kiss on her lips. It was clumsy and their teeth knocked together
slightly from the sudden impact, but when he pulled away he found that
it had the effect he was hoping for. Her eyes, which had been so worried
before, held no trace of that emotion as she looked at him in slight
shock and amazement, her cheeks flushing red at the surprise.

“They’ll
like you,” he said quietly as he dropped his hands from her face, going
to hold hers once more. “B-because I… like you.”

[Name] found
herself smiling as the pesky heat in her cheeks persisted on staying.
After another silent moment, the two resumed walking towards Kasamatsu’s
household, hands intertwined.

“What about my dress?” She asked after a beat, tugging at it with her free hand. “Is it decent for dinner?”

“Tch,”
Kasamatsu scoffed, avoiding looking at her, “It’s too damn short. Wear
something longer next time if you want to be decent.”

Truthfully, he just wanted to stop the ever increasing blush he got every time the wind lifted her dress.

{EXTRA}

After
a successful dinner with his family, [Name] waved a goodbye to them as
Kasamatsu walked her back to the station. The walk back was livelier
than their previous venture as [Name] commented on his family and the
conversations that had happened at dinner. Kasamatsu would reply every
so often, voicing his own opinion. Once they had arrived at the station,
all conversations about dinner had been exhausted and a comfortable
silence consumed the air around them.

“Hey…” Kasamatsu started after a minute, looking away from [Name]. “I-I was wondering… D-do you want to make it o-official?”

“Huh? What do you mean Kasamatsu-senpai?”

Collecting his resolve, Kasamatsu closed his eyes to avoid an emotional meltdown. “[Name]-san, please be my girlfriend!”

His only response was a happy giggle and a sweet kiss to the lips.

He’s too cute!!

First Kiss [Kasamatsu Yukio]

imagine-knb:

Sprint forward, fake
to the left, then bolt to the right, finishing it all off with a mad
dash for the net before creating the perfect arch between the ball and
its destination. In theory, [Name] thought it would have been simple to
mimic the things she had seen many of her friends do on the basketball
court. In practice, however, it only proved to be much more difficult.

“A-ah,
sorry!” [Name] stuttered out an apology as she missed the net
completely, the ball landing just in front of it before bouncing away
and off the courts. Running after it, she rattled off a string of
excuses. After retrieving the basketball from its nesting spot in the
grass beside the outside court, she brought it back to the three point
line, dribbling clumsily. “I thought I could get it that time…”

Kasamatsu
mentally groaned as he watched [Name] bring the ball back to where he
was trying to teach her how to shoot. They had been going at it for
nearly an hour now and she had made little to no progress. Honestly, he
believed she showed no signs of ever getting better at his beloved
sport. He was starting to think she had no athletic talent whatsoever.

“Maybe
we should try getting closer to the net,” he suggested, grunting as he
caught the ball after she sloppily passed it to him.

The pair
walked closer to the basketball hoop, stopping once they were only a few
feet away from it. Kasamatsu hoped she would at least be able to make a
basket from where they stood now. Bouncing the ball a few times where
he stood, he went into a small rant as he tried to explain what she
should be doing and how she should do it. His arms brought that
basketball up as if he were about to shoot it, showing her the motions
she should try to follow. The entire time, his steel blue eyes were
focused on the net, not once wavering from it.

“You didn’t put enough force into that last attempt, so maybe being closer to the net will be better for you…”

As
he spoke, [Name] found herself staring at him in admiration. His
determination towards the sport had been what initially attracted her to
him, but hearing him talk about it in person was a totally different
experience for the young first year. She could practically feel his love
for the game rolling off of him in waves as he tried his best to
explain it to her. As he spoke about it, his face would often form a
grin and he would clench his fists in excitement, the muscles in his
arms tensing along with it. [Name] couldn’t help but admire what she
deemed to be the perfect physique of the older male, her mind traveling
to places not safe to mention in public.

“Hey, Kasamatsu-senpai,” [Name] murmured, interrupting his instruction.

Kasamatsu
paused midsentence when [Name] interrupted him, facing her with an
expression that said he was all seriousness. Why had she interrupted
him? The only plausible answer he could think of was that maybe she was
getting bored of learning to play. Kasamatsu hoped this wasn’t the
truth.

“You don’t stutter when you talk to me about basketball.”

Heat
found its way to his cheeks and Kasamatsu found himself choking on his
own saliva when he heard her words. “S-sh-shut up,” he huffed after he
took a moment to catch his breath. Throwing the basketball a bit harshly
in her direction, he watched as she caught it with a grunt, nearly
dropping it. “Have you even been paying attention to what I’ve been
saying?!”

“Not exactly,” [Name] admitted, bouncing the orange ball
in place a bit before taking aim towards the basket. “But all I really
need to do is aim and shoot, right? Shouldn’t be that hard.”

Kasamatsu
couldn’t bring it in himself to remind her that she had missed every
basket she aimed and shot for so far. Taking a calming breath in order
to sooth his still reddening cheeks, he watched as she missed yet
another basket. [Name] cursed under her breath as she was forced to
retrieve the ball yet again. As he watched her try over and over to make
a basket, Kasamatsu couldn’t help but think that what she had said was
sort of true. The day before, he had been a stuttering mess when
conversing with her, but as soon as [Name] asked him to teach her how to
shoot a basket, a newfound determination had sparked in his soul. He
found himself shaking less as they discussed a topic he was extremely
familiar and comfortable with. Suddenly, he could talk to her as if she
were one of his own first year teammates. Instead of being a pretty girl
that could make him into a fool, she had become a student he could
teach—albeit a pretty, female student, but a student nonetheless.

As
he thought, Kasamatsu’s eyes traveled along her body, watching her form
as she positioned herself to shoot. Muscles tensed slightly, eyebrows
furrowed above focused eyes, and a pink tongue poking out of the corner
of her lips. Every so often [Name] would replace her tongue with teeth
as she bit and chewed on her lips in concentration. Kasamatsu soon found
his mind wandering to less appropriate places as he continued to stare
at her and he found that pesky blush of his to be coming back with a
vengeance. He cursed himself, realizing that as soon as his mind left
the thought of basketball and wandered towards the thought of her, his
hands started to shake slightly again. In order to avoid another awkward
situation, Kasamatsu averted his eyes from her, nearly missing the
familiar swish of the basket as he did so.

“Oh. Oh!
Kasamatsu-senpai, I did it!” [Name] turned towards him with an excited
smile, pointing towards the basket as if she could show him an instant
replay. She hopped lightly in place, looking towards him for approval.

“Congratulations,” Kasamatsu grunted, nodding to her. He was actually pretty impressed. Maybe she could make progress after all.

“Congratulations? What, I don’t get a prize?” [Name] pouted.

“H-huh? W-What do you want?” Kasamatsu asked, baffled at what he could possibly give her as an award.

Thinking
for a moment, [Name] put a finger to her lips as she hummed in thought.
A few seconds passed before she made a sound that told him she had come
to a decision. Taking a few steps toward the taller male, she latched
her hands onto his bigger ones before looking at him. In turn, he tensed
up completely, his arms and legs ever so slowly starting to vibrate in
place as he became nervous. As their eyes met, Kasamatsu couldn’t help
but flush in embarrassment at the physical contact. It wasn’t until he
noticed her eyes flutter shut and her body shift to lean up towards him
that he truly realized what she had wanted. He found himself stuttering,
staring at her slightly puckered lips.

“Come on, Kasamatsu-senpai, no need to be shy,” [Name] mumbled, eyes still closed after he still hadn’t closed the distance.

Swallowing
the lump in his throat and ignoring his erratic heartbeat, Kasamatsu
leaned down towards her, refusing to close his eyes until he was sure he
wouldn’t miss completely. A few tense milliseconds later and his lips
finally landed upon hers. He allowed his own eyes to shut as he felt the
blush consume his entire face. Seconds later, they both retreated from
the simple first kiss, red adorning both their faces.

They hoped it would be the first of many.

{EXTRA}

“I-I-I
should w-walk you home n-now,” Kasamatsu stuttered as he escaped from
[Name]’s hold, reverting back to his awkward and nervous habit.

“Wait,
I want to try for one more basket!” [Name] ran to retrieve the
basketball before returning to her previous spot and shooting. Secretly,
she hoped another basket would earn her another kiss, but when neither
the sound of the net nor the sound of a ball bouncing reached their ears
after a moment, [Name] found herself looking towards the hoop. “O-oh… I
think it’s stuck up there.”

“Hey! That’s my favorite basketball!”

So cute!!

GABBY my bby! How are you doing? Can I get a Kasamatsu and Aomine scenario (separate) where their S/O is incredibly frustrated with everything to the point she wants to quit her job and stop being nice to people? (she’s reached her breaking point and doesn’t know what to do..) fluff ending would be preferable please? :D

baesketballers:

AOMINE

He watches as you sluggishly make way to your shared bedroom in your modest apartment, eyes wide when he sees you slump face-first on the soft surface of the sheets. He meant to offer you some popcorn with the bowl he has in hand—an NBA game is playing on TV—but he ditches the idea, placing the bowl on the nearest counter top before pacing to get to where you are.

“Welcome home,” he says warily as he observes you from the doorway. You look dead if not for your garbled, incorrigible response. He approaches you, sitting slowly on the bed next to you, a large palm on your shoulders. You are still carrying your backpack.

“Hey,” he calls out again, “you okay?”

“I want to sleep forever,” you murmur back, and that is when he knows it is more than just a bad day. He scoops you from behind by your underarms like someone would handle a kitten, easily lifting you up to a sitting position facing him. Deft hands help you get rid of your backpack, which ends up sliding down the bed and to the floor with a light thump. Warm arms wrap around you, and you realize that your face is buried against his chest—a position in which you feel complete protected.

He hears your light sobs and brings you impossibly closer as he gently strokes your hair, a behavior that juxtaposes his gruff self so strongly that your heart wrenches even more.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

“I’m tired,” you whisper, “so tired, Daiki, I just wish I could quit.”

He kisses the top of your head, making you want to sob into his chest all the more, but then he tips your head up to look him in the eyes before planting a soft kiss on your lips. You feel his breath against you, sending pleasant shivers down your spine, but the pain you have endured the whole day is not yet forgettable.

“I don’t want to go tomorrow,” you say defeatedly, “I don’t want to meet them ever again.”

And then he descends again, sapphire eyes seemingly glowing in the dark room before he closes his eyes as he kisses you again, this time with more passion.

“Don’t worry, babe, I’m going to make you forget about them,” you hear him say as the hand around your waist caresses the skin under your shirt, “and then I’ll call you in sick tomorrow so we can figure this out.” You gasp when he moves to nip at your neck instead—Aomine might not be so eloquent in sweet things, but his methods of distraction are as equally effective.

“Just relax for now. I’ll take care of you.”

KASAMATSU

The sound of your bag hitting the side of the couch is the first thing he hears after the slam of the front door, and seconds later he spots your figure rushing to the bathroom before he hears another slam and a click. His previously relaxed temperament turns into that of murky worry and anxiety, but he has a clue as to what is making you so upset.

With a slight frown on his face—it hurts him to see you like this—he approaches the bathroom door, trying to detect sounds of anything going on beyond the slab of wood, but upon hearing none, he knocks slowly.

You hear him call out your name, his voice gentle and slightly muffled from outside the bathroom, and you lift your head only to see your horrible reflection in the mirror. Your hair a mess, your face… well, you have looked better, but the day took a toll on you, and it seems like it is not just mentally. You sigh, washing your face as quick as possible before stepping out. You hate worrying him, but you cannot take back that dramatic entrance you executed a minute ago—there is no way you can pretend it is nothing now.

Maybe you can lie that you really wanted to pee.

No, you shake your head in disdain. There is no escaping him.

“Hey,” you meekly call out once you open the door, slightly embarrassed at your outburst and what you did with the entrance door. He cups your cheek with a hand, his thumb stroking you so gently that you feel the burden on your shoulders vaporize almost immediately.

“Hey,” he echoes, “what happened?”

You slowly close the distance between your bodies in a hug, one that he instantly reciprocates. With the reassurance of his hand on your back, you reply, “They’re horrible,” and then after a long sigh, “they’re all horrible.”

Kasamatsu ushers you towards the couch, where you are sat comfortably before you find yourself in his arms again.

“You don’t deserve this,” he quietly says, leaving loving strokes on your back to calm you down. “I think talking about it is only going to make you worse, though,” he continues, and you nod.

“I’ll fix you a drink and we can relax for a bit, okay? Don’t worry about tomorrow, I’ll let your boss know that you need some time off.” Your boyfriend pecks your temple before standing up to make his way to the kitchen, but you tug at his hand and he understands, trying not to let the smugness get to you at the sight of his blushing checks.

“I get it, I get it,” he murmurs, resorting to litter kisses against the skin of your neck, conveniently hiding his reddening face from you.

I won’t leave you.

Sweet supportive boys!

First Date [Kasamatsu Yukio]

imagine-knb:

I hope you guys like Kasamatsu because you’re about to get a lot of him.

Sitting alone at the
top of a play set’s slide, [Name] idly played games on her cellphone as
she waited. Clouds had started to blow in from the East, covering the
sun every so often and casting shadows on the ground below. [Name] hoped
it wasn’t a bad omen.

Turning her game off, [Name] glanced at the time displayed on the glowing screen before heaving a sigh of disappointment. 12:30.

“He’s half an hour late…” [Name] muttered as she felt her stomach rumble.

After
Kasamatsu had accepted her offer of going on a date, the two had
discussed what days they would both be free. Well, more like she had
discussed while he simply grunted in response, shaking in his shoes.
Eventually, the two had agreed upon a lunch date that Sunday evening.
Something simple that the both of them could handle which would also
allow the two of them to get to know each other better. They had agreed
to meet in the park where the basketball teams often met and [Name] had
arrived twenty minutes early, excited to see the older male. However, as
time crawled on, she was finding it difficult to stay patient.

“I can’t believe he stood me up…”

Pushing
off and sliding down to the bottom of the play set, [Name] resolved to
just go home. As she walked, she bit the side of her cheek to stop the
tears that were prickling at her eyes from flowing. Blinking back her
emotions proved to be a tad difficult as she brushed past strangers
walking through the park. She grumbled to herself and glared at the
ground while making her way towards the park’s exit. It was ridiculous
of her to think she could have a happy time with the guy she liked for
so long.

Finally reaching the sidewalk outside the park, she took
the first few steps that would take her home. By now her tears had
receded and the only emotion left was borderline apathy towards the
situation. She barely noticed the dark haired male that ran passed her.
If he hadn’t accidently bumped shoulders with her, muttering an apology
as he hurried past, she would’ve mistaken him for someone else.

“Kasamatsu-senpai?”

Hearing
his name, the hurrying male came to a stuttering stop as he turned
towards the voice that had called out to him. He was panting hard from
running all the way from the station and a thin layer of sweat had
started to break out on his skin. He cursed whoever had stopped him on
the sidewalk, knowing full well that he was more than half an hour late
for his rendezvous by now. When his eyes landed on the Seirin female
however, he knew instantly that he had already screwed up.

“[Name]-san,
I-I thought we were going to m-meet in the p-park,” Kasamatsu said
through his heavy breathing. Inwardly, he awarded himself for not
stuttering as much as usual, but chalked it up to the fact he was trying
hard to catch his breath.

“You’re late.”

Her near apathetic
response shocked the third year. Lifting his shaking hand to rub at the
back of his neck, he felt a shameful heat reach towards his cheeks as
he avoided her gaze.

“Y-y-yeah… S-sorry…”

He gave no excuse
for his tardiness, wondering to himself if it would even make a
difference if he had. She was upset with him. He had screwed up majorly
and she probably didn’t want anything to do with him now. Silence
consumed the both of them as they stood on the sidewalk, the people
passing by giving them small glances. Two minutes passed with them
standing there in silence before Kasamatsu decided to open his mouth and
apologize again, but a low rumbling cut him off before he could get a
word out.

“A-ah…” He looked down at the younger girl and watched
as her cheeks reddened. Her eyes refused to meet his as she placed her
hands around her stomach in a vain attempt to hush the organ.
Sheepishly, she glanced at him after her stomach had settled once more.
“I-I’ve been waiting for our lunch date all day.”

Kasamatsu made a noise of understanding as he scratched at his cheek. “I-If you want, we can still g-go… To l-lunch, I mean.”

The
offer was left hanging in the air for a tense moment as [Name] thought
over his offer. Kasamatsu could practically hear his own heart beating,
reminding him of the adrenaline rush he got from being on a basketball
court. Only the feeling he was getting now was more sickening, making
him want to run. Part of him wished she would reject his proposal so he
could go home and save himself from further embarrassment, but the
majority of him knew that if that happened, he would be emotionally
crushed.

“Sure,” [Name] answered quietly. Suddenly, she put her
hands on her hips as she looked away with a slight pout. “But you’re
paying since you’re the one who was late for our date.” Her cheeks
reddened as she reminded him of their date, in turn causing his own
cheeks to redden.

“A-ah, y-yeah,” Kasamatsu agreed, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders.

Nodding
to each other in agreement, the two started making their way to town
where most of the restaurants and cafés were located. They walked side
by side in silence, not looking at each other as they turned corners and
crossed streets. It wasn’t until the sun had been completely covered by
unnoticed clouds and the first few fat drops of rain had started
falling that either of them had made a sound. In a panic to get out of
the rain and stay close together, Kasamatsu instinctively latched his
hand onto [Name]’s smaller one, setting the pace as they ran for cover.
[Name] felt a heated blush make its way towards her cheeks as she
noticed their intertwined hands. She had to fight the urge to comment on
how adorable she found the action.

“Oh man, my hair is going to
get all frizzy,” [Name] whined, tugging at a strand of hair with her
unoccupied hand as the two of them made their way under the veranda of
the nearest café. Though they hadn’t been in the rain for long, water
still dripped slowly from their hair and clothing. As they both stared
out into the downpour, they wondered how each of them would be getting
home safely today. “After lunch, I can call my mom to come pick us up.
We’ll drive you to the station.”

“S-sure.” Kasamatsu said, thankful that he wouldn’t have to brave more of the rain in order to make it home.

[Name]
smiled up at him, her eyes meeting his nervous steel blue ones as she
nodded her head towards the café behind them. Catching the hint,
Kasamatsu stiffly nodded as he led her inside, standing with her in line
so that they’re lunch date could begin. The smile on her face stayed
there the entire time as she looked around the quaint café they had
stumbled upon. Slowly, his own small smile made its way onto his face as
he watched her.

Maybe he hadn’t screwed up so bad after all.

{EXTRA}

“Hey, Kasamatsu-senpai?”

The older teen looked towards his younger companion as they waited in line to be seated, his eyes asking his unspoken question.

“I think it’s really cute that you’re still holding my hand.”

Letting
go of her hand, a string of broken apologies sputtered out of his lips
as Kasamatsu flushed red, shaking from more than just the cold rain now.
[Name] could only grin before she burst out laughing at his reaction,
causing him to yell in embarrassed frustration.

No, he hadn’t screwed up the date after all.

I love Kasamatsu-senpai!

serves-up:

Who would Karasuno fall for?

A/N: Here is something I made on a whim lmao. I hope it can help you guys with how I do matchups, and it can help you do them as well. Also, these are just my HC and they are pretty broad. I’m sure any of these boys can make it work w/ anyone as long as there is love.

Lemme know if you want another one for a different school!

Daichi: Someone driven, ambitious, and/or focused. He likes people who are passionate and know what they’re about, but are humble and caring towards others. He doesn’t really mind whether they are outgoing or not, but overly shy people wouldn’t work out well with him (he’s just very social due to being a captain and his partner will most likely have to meet a lot of people through him) Also, someone with sass or spunk is a huge plus in his book.

Suga: Like Daichi, he is drawn towards people who have a sass to them but are caring. Suga tends to go for shyer, “bookwormish” people who have a more extroverted side to them when you get to know them. Suga tends to be a nurturer too, so anyone he can take care of (and will also take care of him in return) would be great.

Asahi: He can go two ways. Someone loud, proud, and basically the total opposite of him (yet is kind and can encourage him) is pretty much a perfect match for Asahi. They would keep him on his toes and prevent him from succumbing to his own anxiety at times. However, someone who seems meek and sweet but doesn’t take shit of any caliber would work just as fine.

Hinata: He really doesn’t need much from a partner? Just someone to engage in his hype for volleyball and just be supportive of him. However, he does need someone who is mature(ish) and can “keep him in check”. He’s more of a beneficial person to date, though. His enthusiasm and optimism is infectious.

Kageyama: Kags isn’t a very needy person and he’s focused on his sport. So someone who can support him and either plays or has knowledge about volleyball would be best for him. He can be awkward and cold at times, so someone who can take charge of conversations and PDA and make him see the brighter sides of things would be great too. He’d feel more comfortable around them and unafraid to share his true feelings instead of closing them off.

Tanaka: Tanaka has a innate attraction to shyer girls, like Suga. Although, that aspect doesn’t really matter. Anyone who’s willing to have a “best-friend” type of relationship with him and engage in his antics will do him well. Also, someone who isn’t easily intimidated and can see past his rough exterior would make him SO HAPPY. He also really likes stereotypically “cute” people (but who isn’t cute in Tanaka’s eyes lmao). He also wants someone he can care for/protect? He just wants to feel like a necessity in a relationship.

Nishinoya: Like Tanaka, Noya tends to fall for cute people and prefers a “best friend” type of relationship. He can also go two ways with a partner as well. Shyer people can benefit from him since he’s so loving and encouraging, and he’ll enjoy the quiet moments and conversation they give him. And they can easily be attracted to him since he can be pretty introspective and observant too. But on the other hand, Noya can do just as well with someone similar to him. Yeah he’d be pretty loud/outgoing with this person, but all around it’s an adorable, supportive relationship.

Tsukishima: Idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I don’t see Tsukki falling for anyone very outgoing, unless they were more on the quiet side. Tsukishima would quickly find himself falling for someone with a strong mind (not necessarily smart? Just isn’t easily manipulated and has good common sense) and quick wit, who genuinely cares about whatever they do and is honest. Someone materialistic or superficial would instantly make him dislike the person. Also someone with thick skin who doesn’t mind some teasing coming their way from time to time would suit him.

Yamaguchi: This boy…I’m sure he could fall for pretty much anyone on the introvert/extrovert spectrum as long as they weren’t overly extroverted or overly introverted (like “i wanna stay in the house all day” type of introvert). Someone with a sweet disposition would attract him immediately and could be tender towards him. Like Tsukishima, superficial people would drive him away. He’s insecure about people liking him (since usually people want his friend’s number) so someone who would encourage him and give him validation would be great. Yamaguchi is a great inspiration as well, so someone dating him can expect to be encouraged by him too in their low moments.

I loved all of these and I think you nailed them perfectly!

Ask box open? So excited! Can you add Ukai to your ballroom/latin dance AU? I’m thinking Rachel will want to write it because he’s her husband? I wasn’t sure what to ask for in relation to the AU since I’m sure you have an idea of what you want to write (and I’m clueless when it comes to dance) but if you want more details I can try to come up with something?

imagine-that-haikyuu:

a little known fact is that 75% of the reason i started this blog was that somewhere along the way, someone would ask me for this ballroom/latin!au. when i brought may on and we started talking to get to know each other, i found out she also loves dancing with the stars as much as i do. we knew we had to write this au or else we’d only screech to each other about it with no other outlet

  • Heather Morris’s rumba with Maks Chmerkovskiy is my inspiration for Ukai’s and your dancing so definitely check it out. It’s, like, pitch perfect, the chemistry is all there, I could go on. I’d like to think that good songs for a rumba with him are Amy Winehouse’s slow-downed BBC Live Lounge version of “Valerie” or “Crystallized” by Young the Giant
  • The two of you have been partnered up since you were kids, and it shows. There’s just something so effortless in your dancing and your partnership. It makes even the most serious of dance styles look like fun.
    • Needless to say, it took a lot of work (and a little falling in love) to make that happen. Your personalities clashed a lot in the beginning, but something clicked after a particularly bad day in competition and things took a turn for the better from there.
  • Since he buzzed his hair in his youth, he never had to slick back his hair for competition. The headband he wears all the time now to push his hair back  is a sort of middle ground for that when he’s instructing.
  • The boys love it when Ukai calls you into help with classes. Partially because, hey, a pretty lady is coming to see them, but also because you can give their partners insight that they’re more receptive to since you’re in their position
    • Plus, the demos from you two are either really hot helpful or lead to some hilarious bickering after
  • Has a soft spot for the Viennese waltz and foxtrot, even though he’s a latin guy himself. You often joke about him liking those standard dances–as opposed to the tango–because of his delinquent-like appearance.
    • (This is where I direct you to another dance from Maks Chmerkovskiy, but this time it’s his Viennese waltz with Meryl Davis because I have not shut up to May for days already about this being the perfect VWaltz for Ukai and his partner. I get really emotional about it)
  • His favorite outside of the ten dance styles in competition is the Argentine tango. Dancing in close embrace with you is just so romantic for him.

So cool! Thanks for a new obsession!

Futakuchi Kenji or Goshiki Tsutomu (either is fine!) for what they’d do around their crush to get them to notice him, and what happens when they find out their crush has the same feelings for him as well!

imagine-that-haikyuu:

eeyyyyy so im busting out the other request i recently finished!

i’m probably gonna alternate posting the halloween requests and my other ones. i was blocked like, the whole of september so that sucked.

ANYWAY! i have a soft spot for these two dorks so i immediately jumped at the chance to write this one hahaha. it’s easier doing these with headcanons, so i went with that.

hope you guys like it!

FUTAKUCHI KEIJI

               TRYING TO GET
THEIR CRUSH’S ATTENTION

  • If his crush is in some way affiliated with the
volleyball club, he’d ask her to do ridiculous stuff in the name of “school
spirit” or “for the promotion of the volleyball club, Y/N, come on,” so it’s
    mostly teasing you.
  • If his crush is just a classmate or a school
mate, he’d actually do the same, but more timid.
  • Futakuchi feels like the type of guy who asks
his crush’s friends for what she’s into and what she’s not, or like, ask for
their class schedule and “casually” bumps into the at lunch time and be like,
“oh hey, so you have your lunch here too that’s weird what a coincidence!!!”
  • He’s especially flashy during matches where he
knows his crush is attending, like jumping extra high during the three-man
blocks (and thanking the coach for those jumping exercises he made all of them
    do)

               REACTIONS TO
FINDING OUT THEIR CRUSH FEELS THE SAME

  • Internally, he’s like, exploding. His brain just
exploded because aRE YOU SERIOUS??? YOU LIKE HIM TOO??? WHAT ARE THE EFFING
CHANCES and he half-believes that your friend was just joking when they told
    him
  • And after that he just goes full-on teasing you,
like seriously asking you on a date that one time and then he ended up
chickening out before you answered and told you it was a joke
  • Bruh, he was miserable after that and kept
hitting himself with a volleyball on the head for being an idiot
  • You were actually the one to confess because you
were getting tired of Futakuchi inviting you out on dates and chickening out
because he was scared you might decline
  • Needless to say, Futakuchi turned red as a
    tomato after you left

TSUTOMU GOSHIKI

               TRYING TO GET
THEIR CRUSH’S ATTENTION

  • Him trying to get your attention is almost like
him trying to get Ushijima’s attention tbh
  • But like. In a more excited and overt way
  • He would boldly come up to you, intending to
talk to you, but as soon as he’s standing in front of you he ends up
    stuttering, and he’s so adorable???
  • There would be some talking, but he’s so stiff
and you feel kind of sorry for intimidating him, but at the same time you’re
    wondering why???
  • If you’re affiliated with the club (like a
manager or for documentation or something) he would give it all of his all, if
you get what I mean, because he really wants to show off
  • Sometimes he ends up being told off by
    Washijo-sensei, though
  • After games he would sometimes come up to you
and be all like, “Did you see that super straight I did??!??!?!! THAT WAS MY
BEST ONE YET!!!!!” and you find it so endearing because you know he’s doing his
    very best in every game

               REACTIONS TO
FINDING OUT THEIR CRUSH FEELS THE SAME

  • His face would turn red, I mean, really red when he first finds out.
  • Spends a few days wondering if it was a joke and
often gets hit in the face with a ball because of it
  • Even went to Ushijima for advice—and he felt so
uncomfortable through the whole exchange because Tendou was just sneering in
the corner—but Ushijima was just like, “Conviction is important in becoming an
ace. If you don’t have that in everyday life, then how can you hope to inspire
    such in your team?”
  • Amazingly, Goshiki took his advice and finally
    asked you out
  • He was stuttering like crazy and his face was so
warm you thought he had a fever, but you accepted, thank god
  • And when you did he stood comically still like a
statue for a minute, trying to process what you said, and when he finally
registered it, he almost fainted with relief

Precious beans!!! These are so cute, I love Ushijima’s advice, very apt!

Halloween ask: Ukai being dragged to a cornfield maze by the boys and he ends up separated from them only to find his old crush from high school lost and helps her. I’ll leave it to you on whether you want to make it spookier by there being a real (but not malevolent) ghost in the maze or if it’s just hokey and they laugh together while trying to get out or maybe work together to scare the boys? However you want to do it! Thanks and Happy Halloween!

imagine-that-haikyuu:

happy halloween, everyone!

i LOVE corn mazes and i LOVE ukai. jade, girl, you are speaking my language. this is the last of my requests for the halloween event. thanks to everyone who submitted requests for the occasion!

Ukai thinks himself a total hypocrite. Before entering this corn maze with the team, he made sure to instruct them all to stay together. Yet, here he was on his own with nothing but a dim flashlight in hand.

Only fifteen minutes or so into their journey in, something spooked the kids. He doesn’t know exactly what, since he and Takeda trailed behind the pack. But out of nowhere someone screamed (probably Hinata) and sent the rest of the team already on edge into a scramble.

Except for Tsukishima, who seemed rather unphased by this. He only started running when Yamaguchi called out to him in fear that “it’s gonna get you!”, to which the tall blonde clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes before groaning, “Fine” and heading off.

“Those idiots,” Ukai grumbled.

“They’ll be fine,” Takeda said. “They all have maps of the maze with them.”

“We should probably try to keep an eye on them, though. I’d rather not deal with angry parents later.”

So he an Takeda split up. Not their brightest idea–literally–as Ukai’s flashlight now seems to dim and flicker more by the minute. He put in fresh batteries before leaving for the maze too. When the light cuts completely, he slaps it a few times to try and restore it, but to no avail.

After a string of muttered curses, he throws his head back. Now would be the perfect time to light a cigarette, but the last thing he wants to do is to accidentally set the place ablaze. Well, the only thing left to do is to try and find another group wandering through the maze to help him out. In the dark, he can barely make out the path before him nor the cornstalk boundaries; it’ll be a slow process. Ukai sighs, lifts his arms up to out in front of him, and takes his first steps.

Awwwwww!!!!! I love it!! I’m so glad you liked my choice of character and situation and I LOVE your interpretation of it!!

Twenty Question [Kasamatsu Yukio]

imagine-knb:

Originally posted on my personal writing blog (along with another various accounts I have elsewhere). This is an extra chapter I couldn’t quite fit into a series I once wrote for Kasamatsu! I hope you enjoy! (I’m contemplating posting the other chapters to the Kasamatsu fic I wrote; let me know if you guys like this idea)
-Neon

There’s a tense
moment of silence as ____ glances back and forth between her companion
and the direction their waitress had just left in. With their orders
already taken, an opportunity for conversation should have been
initiated, but neither teen was seizing the chance. In a nervous habit,
she starts nibbling on her bottom lip, wracking her brain for any topic
that would be of interest.

“So,” she starts eventually, noticing how the boy across from her flinches ever so slightly. “Basketball?”

In
her mind, ____ is chastising herself for the lame start of a
conversation. Of course her date would want to talk about basketball—he
was Kasamatsu Yukio, after all—but she didn’t know the first thing about
the sport save for the few things her friends back at Seirin had told
her. Needless to say, she’d already dived headfirst into a topic she had
no experience in.

“Y-Yeah,” Kasamatsu answers back.

He’s
cursing at himself inwardly for the short response, unable to find the
words to express himself. Even if he could, he doesn’t really know what ____ means. Did she want to know why he played basketball? Or maybe
she wanted to talk about his last game? It was possible she was leaving
it open for his interpretation so he could take the conversation in
whatever direction he chose, but that plan would only work if he could
get the jumbled vocabulary in his mind to make coherent phrases longer
than a syllable. This date was a bad idea.

When Kasamatsu fails to
elaborate further on his answer another silence starts to linger in the
air. ____ finds herself glancing around the cafe, looking for another
source of inspiration for their conversation. When none presents
itself, she goes back to the previous topic, albeit hesitantly.

“I
don’t know much about it myself. Maybe you could teach me a few
things?” She leaves the question hanging in the air, hoping her voice
didn’t sound overly hopeful.

There’s another beat before Kasamatsu answers with a quick, “S-Sure.”

____ feels her heart sink when, once again, Kasamatsu ends his answer short.
She hadn’t expected him to be so closed off and, for a brief second,
she wonders if it’s something about her that’s putting him off.

“I’m
sorry this is really awkward,” she apologizes suddenly, catching
Kasamatsu slightly off guard. ____ couldn’t remember the last time a
first date had gone this badly; maybe it was a bad omen? “If you want,
we can call this date off. I wouldn’t mind—”

“N-No!”

The
quick outburst startles ____ and she reels back in her seat for a
second, staring at Kasamatsu with wide, curious eyes. Despite the fact
that he’s turning his head in every direction other than hers, she can
still see the red flush that’s begun to creep its way onto his face. It
tints his ears ever so slightly before he finally opens his mouth to
speak once more.

“Stay,” he murmurs, proud of himself for not
stuttering for once. “I…” Once again and far too soon, he’s at a loss
for words. Just how hard could it be to explain that he really wanted
this date to work out? “I want to know… you?”

Even though he’s
ended it like a question, the fact that he’d said something more than
one word at a time has brought an accomplished smile to ____’s face.
Still, she knows it must have taken a lot of courage for him to do so
and it’s more than likely that he’ll return to his one syllable answers
once again. It takes her a moment, but a plan comes to her mind that may
take use of his short replies. This date might just be a good idea
after all.

“I want to get to know you too,” she confesses. The
words cause a tinge of pink to dash onto her cheeks and she tries to
shake it off before continuing. “Why don’t we play twenty questions?”

“H-Huh?”

There’s confusion laced in Kasamatsu’s voice, something ____ was betting would happen.

“We’ll
ask each other a series of yes or no questions,” she elaborates, making
a two with one hand and a zero with the other. “Things like ‘do you
like the school you’re in’ or ‘do you like eating seafood’ and stuff,
okay?” When Kasamatsu hesitantly nods, ____ smiles. “Great. Uh, I’ll
start.”

She takes her time to think of a good first question, her
thinking process showing on her face as she glances around the room.
Every so often, ____ would lock eyes with Kasamatsu, though he never
held the gaze for long. Finally, after a dragged out minute, ____
snaps her fingers together in a gesture that says she’s finally thought
of one.

“Do you play any instruments?”

The questions was simple enough and Kasamatsu easily finds himself nodding as he mutters out a quick, “Yeah.”

And
for a second, ____ forgets the rules to the game. “That’s so cool!
What kind of instrument do you play? Do you know how to play any modern
songs, or just classical stuff? Can you play something for me one day?
I’d really like to hear it. Oh, have you ever—”

There’s a certain
panic in Kasamatsu’s eyes as the onslaught of questions assault him.
Noticing the overwhelmed expression, ____ brings her inquiries to a
screeching halt. She smiles sheepishly at him as a form of apology
before gesturing for him to take his turn. Unfortunately, it only lands
the two of them right back at square one.

“D-Do… Do you, uh…”

____ doesn’t even bother to count the minutes it takes for Kasamatsu to finally finish his question.

{EXTRA}

“Okay,” ____ says, her voice holding a tone of finality. “This is the twentieth question I have for you.”

She
pauses for dramatic effect, making Kasamatsu feel rather nervous. What
if she asked something that would inevitably embarrass him? He didn’t
want to have to lie.

“Will you,” she starts off slowly. “Teach me how to shoot a basket?”

His answer his immediate. “Yes.”

Super cute awkward Kasamatsu!
