I did this in a reactions/scenario free flow that I’ve grown immensely fond of. Thanks again to @sfw-haikyuu-nsfw for introducing me to this type of writing and for being so cool with me using it too! Warning, this is somewhat gruesome.
Kuroo had heard rumors of these
creatures, but initially thought it was an elaborate prank. Those videos
couldn’t have possibly been real. But now, looking at the creature before him,
he has no doubt. And he knows he’s about to die. His fight or flight circuits
somehow cross, leaving him stranded with fear, like a bird who can fly stays
still waiting for the snake to strike. “Oh god,” he whimpers, voice cracking.
“Such
a sweet looking treat,” hisses the ghoul, striding forward slowly. It takes a
deep breath in. “I can smell your fear and it’s soooooo tasty.”
Just
as it springs, Kuroo covers his eyes but the impact never comes. Opening them
again, he’s startled to see _________ has jumped in front of him, her hands
grasping the wrists of the creature.
He
still can’t move, can’t make a sound when his crush, the girl he’s been pining
after all year, bites his former attacker.
At first,
he thinks he imagined it, there’s no way she-
But the
sound of rending flesh and a horrid scream of pain snaps him to the reality
that this is really happening. Sugawara
falls to his knees, eyes wide with horror as ________ easily overpowers the
ghoul, taking another huge chunk of its flesh. Her lips smack, tongue licking
the trailing blood from her mouth before she goes in for another bite and all
the while his attacker now turned victim writhes and twitches on the ground
shrieking.
“Shut
up,” she hisses, tearing its throat to render it soundless. “That’s better,”
she coos before going back to feeding.
A
sound of retching, Sugawara no doubt, hits her ears but she’s so starved she
can’t stop now. She’s been holding back for far too long and there were way too
many close calls where she almost ate the one she cares about.
Finishing
her meal, she stands, wiping the remnants of her consumption from her teeth
before turning around. She’s a gruesome sight to behold, clothing saturated
with blood, eyes still black and red as a result of her excitement during the
kill.
“Tsukishima-kun,” her voice calls gently. When the blonde looks up it’s to find
her eyes returning to their normal color but it does little to stem the shiver
of horror that racks his body. He falls backwards, landing hard on his ass and
skirting away as fast as he can.
“What…what
the hell are you?” he rasps, throat coated with the evidence of his expulsion.
She
sighs, rubbing her hands upon her skirt in an attempt to clean them, the end
result merely being a smearing of more blood upon her person. “I think you know
the answer to that, Tsukishima-kun.”
“But
you, you’re…you go to my school! You sit in class, right next to me! How…how
could you be…be…this the whole
time?!” His voice is rising, hysterics taking over despite his usually calm
nature.
“That’s
true, I do those things. But it’s also true that I’m this.” She pauses, tilting
her head. “And what do you propose to do now? Are you going to tell the
authorities?” Her voice is even, no trace of a threat but he knows it’s there.
How could it not be? And how could he do that? After all, she did save him. And as far as he knows,
she hasn’t eaten any humans.
At
least not anyone he knows.
Swallowing
down more bile, he shakes his head. “I won’t tell them. I won’t tell anyone.”
She
smiles, kneeling to his level. “Thank you, Tsukishima-kun. I promise, as long
as I’m around, you won’t have to worry something like that,” she points behind
her to the mass of flesh and bone left, “ever hurting you.”
“But…you
are something like that. How…how can
you be sure you won’t-“
“Because
I could have eaten you more than a hundred times over since we met and I
haven’t.”
“Why?”
he can’t help asking.
She
smiles again. “Because I like you, Tsukishima-kun.”
