Sentence prompt requests:
Daichi please with “Well. Say something. Yell. Anything .”
Please, some Daichi with the prompt “Not again. I’m not losing you again.” Thank you very much! Keep up the good work and good luck with March Madness!
I felt like these would go well together so I hope you guys don’t mind a combo! Also, this is in a Psycho Pass AU because that’s what popped in my head. If you’re unfamiliar that anime, I highly recommend it. Enjoy!
Looking at the clock, Daichi drew a deep breath. They’d be here any minute. Suddenly his tie felt too tight but he willed himself to let it be. It wouldn’t do to show nerves; not that he ever really should but especially here. Still, he was unable to keep himself from pacing slowly back and forth, the click of his patent leather shoes echoing in the almost empty room. Its door opened, drawing his attention to the bleed of bright hall light momentarily stinging his eyes before it slammed to again shutting him in with who he’d been waiting for.
After a moment he said, rather lamely, “So you made it ok,” blinking to dispel the white spots floating in his vision.
Silence returned as she leaned against the wall in shadow; he couldn’t even tell if she was looking at him. Not that he could blame her if she wasn’t.
“I wanted to pick you up myself but, well,” he shrugged, “duties didn’t permit.”
More silence. His tie felt too tight again but he ignored it in favor of taking a seat at the small table between them, gesturing towards the opposite chair in invitation to join him.
She ignored it.
Ignored him.
The room felt heavy, the weight of a thousand words, a million, that he wanted to say but couldn’t. Not here anyway, though he doubted she would hear them even if he tried. Still, knowing they wouldn’t get anywhere like this Daichi said, “Well, say something. Yell. Anything.”
An intake of breath and then, “Sorry, I left my copy of ‘How to Talk to Backstabbing Bastards for Dummies’ in my cell.” She stepped forward, eyes shining hard with hate despite the low light.
Daichi took a quiet deep breath through his nose and though it was difficult staring at the wish of death in her eyes managed to produce what he hoped was a disarming smile. “Seems like you’re doing just fine without it.”
The mirthless smirk fell from her lips. “Don’t be coy, Sawamura.” She spat his name out like a bad taste in her mouth.
His own lips fell back, setting in a grim line. “It doesn’t have to be like this you know. Now that you’re here, we’ll be working together-“
“If you think for one second I’m raising even a pinkyfinger for this fucking tyranny-“
“It’s reality!” he snapped, slamming his fists on the table as he stood to meet her glare head on. “This is the best of a fucked up situation and you know it. Shit, when are you gonna realize I did what I did to save your life?”
“Save my life? You ruined it! You and your rose colored glasses, more like blinders!”
“And if I hadn’t made a move you would have ended up dead!”
“Better that than betrayed by the one person I loved in this god forsaken world!”
Daichi took a deep breath, collapsing in his seat. “You don’t mean that,” he said softly.
“Stop assuming you know anything about me at all!” She turned on her heel, banging against the door and shouting, “We’re done here! Take me back!”
Daichi surged forward, yanking her aside and pushing her against the wall. Her eyes never wavered, boring up into his own. “You have no idea what I had to pull to get you out. Not just out but here with me, with my team!”
A sneer over took her face, harsh and ugly. “Fuck you and your team! I’m not going to be a bitch of the P.S.B.-“
“Not again!” His outburst shocked her to silence. He tightened his hold, but lowered his voice as he said, “I’m not losing you again.”
She pushed against his chest, crying out, “You didn’t lose me, you gave me up!”
Despite their strength differences, Daichi stepped back, but it was too late, the damage was done. Her scent lingered in his nose, light and airy, almost like citrus. It’d been so long since he’d even seen her let alone touched or smelled her and now…now his lips burned to taste her too.
She’d probably snap his neck if he tried.
Sighing he took another step back. “Just, take a look. See what your options are,” he said, eyes imploring. “What have you got left to lose?”
“Oh nothing much, I guess. My principles, my morals, my pride.”
“Please,” he said, at a loss at what else to say.
