So I know your only taking certain asks, and I hope this is okay. But like I cannot seem to like Oikawa. And so many people do. And so many fanfics have him (I’ve ignored them all) and I just…I don’t want to ignore them anymore. But I don’t see why people like him. Could you try explaining why you do/if you do? I’d really greatly appreciate it.

Hi Anon! This is totally ok, I love discussing characters of
one of my fave animes.

Oh my Oikawa, lol, the little brat, right?

So, first off, I have NEVER read the manga, so if there is
more revealed about him in it I am not aware of it. All of my opinion is based
off watching the anime and reading him in fic.

I’ll put a spoiler warning here since I am going to be
talking specifics. Anon, I’m assuming you’ve seen all the anime as well.

I was like you when I was first introduced to his character.
I thought, “Ok, here’s the “villain” of this season.” And in a way, he was. But
so was all of Aobajosai. They were the obstacle to our precious crows succeeding
and when they lost against them I was pretty much crying. When they won, I was
cheering.

That was my first watch through of seasons 1 and 2.

Then, after the third season emotional rollercoaster, I went
back because I’m addicted and watched from season 1 again.

And I started to like Oikawa a little more.

I saw more how he’s so in tune with his team, how amazing he
is but how it’s bred from freaking hard work and not “natural” talent like
Kageyama. His backstory, instead of revealing the villain to me, exposed a
scared and very much still young boy, unable to handle responsibly the pressure
being put on him.

He had a breaking point, we all do, and yes, it shocking to
see him almost strike Kageyama, but I understood it a bit better. Did it excuse
it? No! But it made a little more sense to me.

Oikawa, for all his control on the court, is still immature
and annoying. But somehow, that’s become part of his appeal.

In my next point, we’re getting into the realm of reading
between the lines, subtext and inference.

I also really love Iwaizumi (and not just cause homeboy has
FAB arms!). He’s an amazing senpai who for all his gruff nature really cares
about his team; including Oikawa. But with him, it’s different, they’re friends as much as they are teammates.
For all the blows he deals Oikawa and the teasing Oikawa gives Iwaizumi you can’t
help but see a genuine friendship in their interaction (I do not ship them romantically. To me they are bros now and forever
but that’s my opinion).

All that to say, I almost feel like if Iwaizumi has found
redeeming qualities in Oikawa beyond his abilities as a volleyball player, maybe
I can see them too.

I see his dedication to get better (borderline obsession but
it is what it is).

I see his focus on making sure all of his team are
succeeding. He brings out the best in all
of them.

I see him being good to his family (he’s spending his day off with his nephew. He could be
doing anything and he chooses to do that). I mean sure, he could have been
forced into it but knowing Oikawa if he was don’t you think he’d be complaining
about it? I do, so that tells me he made a choice to spend time with him.

I see him giving advice to Kageyama despite his dislike of
him. Yes, he’s petty in how he does it, but he still does it. If he really didn’t want to, he’d tell him to go fly
a kite.

I see him indirectly compliment Kageyama as part of the
weirdo duo when he’s speaking with Ushijima.

I see him directly
compliment Hinata after the Date Tech victory.

When you go back and watch again with the goal of paying
more attention to the “secondary” characters other than Karasuno, there is so
much revealed. I mean, I don’t know about anyone else, but I was focused solely
on the crows the first time around because that’s who the story is centered on
first. Those are my boys, I want them to win no matter what.

But then I watch a second, a third, a fourth time and I gain
new favorites, I love each character a little more.

Including Oikawa.

I will also say, my enjoyment of his character has stemmed
from reading probably some of the very same fics you’ve been avoiding. And I
get it, I do. If you don’t like a character, why read about them? But I think
if you were to give them a chance, you might be surprised how much you start
falling for him because there are SO MANY talented authors who draw out all
that subtext I mentioned earlier. They dive deep into his character and create
head canons (or maybe stay in canon with the manga for all I know about it)
that I find myself going right along with because they fit.

I’m sure this is a much longer answer than you were
anticipating and most of it probably seems like random rambling, but I hope it
in some way conveys why I am now a fan of Oikawa and think he does deserve
another chance.

If you have any further questions or want to talk more I’m
available through asks or DM.

That goes for anyone!

Thanks for asking my opinion, I’m humbled that you would
want it. 😊

HCs on Aomine, Kagami, Kuroo, Daichi and Ukai having a Bonnie and Clyde kind of relationship with their s/o

Aomine

  • If you’re threatened, he shoots first and asks questions
    later.
  • Will absolutely put himself in the line of fire to protect
you. He knows you can handle yourself but it’s in his nature to protect you.
  • Overall, leaves the leg work to his and your cronies; he
just shows up for the big show downs.

Kagami

  • Will quite literally give you the shirt off his back.
Anything and everything you need, he’ll provide (legally or not).
  • But he appreciates that you have a partnership. He may be an
alpha but when it comes to his mate he prefers looking to his side, rather than
    behind him for you.
  • That doesn’t mean he won’t still try to talk you out of big
jobs or rumbles. He can’t help but want you safe even if you both chose this
    life.

Kuroo

  • The two of you started out as best friends really, you were
the only one who truly called him on his bullshit. Over time, he fell in love
with your snark and ability to lead.
  • Thinks you look hot AF with a gun in your hand. Add a
cigarette and he’ll damn near swoon.
  • Trusts you to take care of yourself, but won’t hold back his
opinion if he thinks you’re being too reckless.

Daichi

  • Even though he met you “in the life” he strives hard to keep
you out of it whenever possible. He doesn’t mean to be chauvinistic, it’s
just his way of showing he loves you.
  • But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t respect you. He knows you
can take down an armed thug without a weapon no problem.
  • If the need ever arose, he would drop everything (including
volleyball) to go on the run with you. He never wants to be without you by his
    side.

Ukai

  • Appreciates your no-nonsense attitude and the fact he
doesn’t have to watch over you 24/7.
  • Appreciates even more your ability to keep the gang of young
ones the two of you have taken under your wings in line. No one messes with
    “mama”.
  • Despite the above, he will hunt down without mercy anyone
who even threatens you and heaven help them if they manage to injure you at
    all.

This is for the bad boy Au. Can I request how Akashi, aomine, hanamiya, himuro, and kise would react when they whisper something extremely dirty to their s/o ear but they are really innocent and doesn’t know what their saying? You could make it NSFW or not is up to you. Either way I know I’ll love your writing like I always do. Keep up to good work, luv ya!

Awww! Thank you! I tried to come up with something clever but some of what I did or found just sounded like cheesy pick up lines! LOL So I decided to try GIF reactions for the first time. I hope you like them. I put them under a read more since the gifs are large.

headcanons/reactions/etc (idk the terminology lol) for s/o (who already has tattoos, not her first time) wanting to get matching tattoos with Lev, Bokuto, Tendou, Semi, Goshiki please if that’s not too many!

I went with reactions and pictures for this one because FUN!
I hope you like them.

Lev

He doesn’t remember exactly when he started calling you his “little
koi” but enthusiastically agrees to your suggestion to get matching koi fish
tattoos on your wrists. To make it even better, you decide to have his be “yin”
and yours “yang”.  You’ve complimented
and helped to balance one another so having a symbol of this truth out in the
open for all to see means a lot to him.

image

Bokuto

It was actually his
suggestion because he loves you so damn much that he wants a literal permanent
mark on you showing that you’re his and what better way to do that than not
just a tattoo but matching tattoos? Picks
out a simple owl design symbol that is inked onto your ankles with the words “owl
always love you” written beneath. Sure, it’s corny and in a place most likely
only to be seen by each other, but you don’t care, because you know it’s there.

image

Tendou

Initially is hesitant. His experience with relationships has
not been the most positive and despite you proving to him over and over you’re
in this for the long haul he still asks, “Are you sure?” what feels like a
million times. You finally shut him up with a fierce kiss, eyes dancing with
mirth as you threaten to pick out the cutesiest image you can find if he doesn’t
get a grip. He does, gripping you tightly and finally smiling. He opts for a
steampunk lock (for him) and key (for you).

image

Semi

Doesn’t want to seem too excited but is pretty much doing
backflips in his mind at your suggestion/request. Spends days designing the
image himself, completely set on making sure its unique to the two of you. When
it’s finished, he has the tattoo artist split the image so the dragon in on his
hand and the phoenix is on yours.

image

Goshiki

Pretty much loses his mind that you’d want to get matching
ink, dragging you to the tattoo parlor before the idea is even fully voiced. The
two of you spend hours pouring over all the options before finally deciding on
black swans, male and female, to be inked on to backs of each of your
shoulders.

Reaction to s/o being targeted by another gang with Oikawa, Iwaizumi, Bokuto, Yaku, Ennoshita, and Ushijima.

Oikawa– Most likely the gang will consist of his fan girls
so he arranges a meet and greet with them to set the rules straight. If they
cross him, they’ll be hell to pay.

Iwaizumi– Doesn’t mess around, keeps her close to him at all
times and if he can’t be there leaves Kyounti to watch over her until he can
take care of the problem. He’ll start with just talking but if they won’t back
down neither will he.

Bokuto– Asks Akaashi for advice because he doesn’t want to
make the problem worse and follows the suggestion to have a meeting with the
aggressors. If they can’t reach an agreement, things go from semi-friendly to
full on violent quickly. Bokuto will not risk losing her because he was too
slow to act.

Yaku– Kuroo doesn’t call him a demon for nothing. Overall,
Yaku is an easy-going guy (except where Lev is concerned because the tol bean
just pushes his buttons too easily). One such button if threatening his family.
Short or not, this member of Nekoma will lay his own body on the line to
protect her. Good thing he has such intimidating juniors to take with him as
back up.

Ennoshita– Tries for a peaceful resolution but make no
mistake, he’ll lay anyone in the ground who seriously intends to harm her.

Ushijima– Sends Tendou to assess the seriousness of the
situation since he’s better at reading people. Doesn’t ask questions when the
red head returns with a dirtied shirt and simply tells him, “It’s been
taken care of.”

Aomine, Momoi, Imayoshi, Wakamatsu, Sakurai as gang leaders (preferably in one gang), headcanons for their position, assigned tasks, rides, etc. Thank you!!

Since they are all in the same gang I’ll substitute the word
“leader” for “members” since there’s really only one leader usually. If I
misunderstood please let me know. Also, I’ve been noticing a lot of what I’m
coming up with feels more “mafia” than bad boys but really isn’t the mafia
just a more sophisticated kind of gang? Oh well, we’ll just keep rolling.

Imayoshi – Leader

  • Decides who, what, when, where and why things either happen
    or don’t.
  • His ride is a black BMW with black out tint and bullet proof
glass, most often times driven by either Wakamatsu or Sakurai.
  • Weapon of choice: switchblade.

Wakamatsu – Right hand man

  • Steps in when Imayoshi is preoccupied, next to ascend to
leadership if something happens to him.
  • Somewhat of a body guard, usually found with Imayoshi at all
    times.
  • If he’s not playing driver to Imayoshi, he can be found in his
    classic red Camaro.
  • Weapon of choice: Beretta M9

Aomine – Enforcer

  • Not involved in the day to day “work” of the gang because he’s
    too damn lazy.
  • Sent for “negotiations” with rival gang members or infiltrators
    to Too’s territory.
  • Shoots around town on his black and red Yamaha 750cc sport
    bike.
  • Weapon of choice: His fists

Sakurai – Sniper “The Regretful Reaper”

  • Despite his timid nature, Sakurai is one of the most feared
members because of his top shot.
  • Roll is to annihilate targets either through a hired job or
    retaliation.
  • Doesn’t drive the same vehicle twice to avoid possible
detection. Usually steals one, does the job and leaves a note with “I’m sorry”
    written on it.
  • Weapon of choice: sniper rifle

Momoi – The Source/Intel Gathering

  • Handles all the nitty gritty details of payroll (yes, they
get paid because they don’t have time to have jobs), target acquisition,
accepting payment for jobs and gathering intel on friends and enemies alike.
  • Keeps the gang in check (even Imayoshi from time to time) to
    ensure things continue running smoothly.
  • Has a cute little scooter she uses to shoot around town.
  • Weapon of choice: Blackmail

Also ‘HCs for what their role/job in the gang is’ for Haizaki, aomine, hanamiya and kagami thank you soooo much! :3

I combined two asks since they were for the same group of people (totally cool, it’s just how the randomizer chose) so that makes room for another to be added to the schedule. Thanks for sending them in!

Haizaki

  • How he joined the gang: Classic scenario of no stable home
life he joins the gang to be a part of something that plays into his violent
    tendencies.
  • You’ve heard the term professional asshole? Look it up and
you’ll see a picture of Haizaki as its definition.
  • Takes immense pleasure in stealing and is often sent on
collection missions of the stealth variety.
  • Brawler and sneak attacker, he’ll get his targets cornered
    efficiently.

Hanamiya

  • How he joined the gang: He gets off on the power of fear and
manipulation. Harnessing his intelligence and ruthlessness to extort wealth in
its various forms is to him more worthwhile than the treasures themselves.
  • Tactical genius and extortionist extraordinaire he uses his
superior intellect and vast network of informants to gather intel on his
    enemies.
  • Master of stealth and concealment, he never gets his own hands
dirty and has the foresight to blockade his people from being identified.
  • Will ruin the competition/enemies through blackmail and
    manipulation just for fun.

Aomine

  • How he joined the gang: Kind of accidentally gets initiated
when he saves Momoi from rival gang members. Imayoshi recognized his talents
and played to his love of doing what he wants when he wants (so long as he gets
    his jobs done).
  • Deadly gun master sent for jobs that need a special touch.
  • Also known for his fighting skills, only ever being beaten
    once: by Kagami.
  • Natural talent coupled with arrogance makes him incorrigible
to a lot of people but despite his tendency to be a dick, he’s an asset to Too,
even if his motivation is self-centered.

Kagami

  • How he joined the gang: Similar to Aomine he falls into the
life when his protective nature kicks in. He saw a shopkeeper getting harassed
by Hanamiya’s men and stepped in. Once he finds out what their up to, he sought
out Seirin, a newer gang who rose up to take back their city.
  • Definitely the brawn to his comrade Kuroko’s brains, he
instilled fear and respect just through his looks alone.
  • Earns the reputation of being a wild man because he took
    Aomine head in a fight.
  • Fiercely loyal to his gang, he’ll put himself in harm’s way
    to protect them.

Nijimura, Haizaki, Himuro, Mayuzumi, Imayoshi for the Bad Boys AU: headcanons when their s/o blurts out in front of everyone in her family’s company party that she don’t intend to inherit the family business but instead wish to find her own path in the world with her boyfriend

A/N: I tried to write head canons but this situation felt more
suited to reactions so I hope you don’t mind.

“I have an
announcement to make,” you say, voice quivering slightly. Meeting your eyes to
your boyfriend one last time, you address the board of your elders. “I have no
intention of accepting the inheritance of this business.” You raise your voice to be heard over the din of disapproval, “Because I plan on leaving with the man I love, to pursue our own path
together.”

Nijimura

Nearly bites through his lip in irritation; how could you
handle something so delicate so carelessly? He shifts in his seat, eyes closing
as he thinks of how to redeem the situation. He has no intention of leaving
you, but he also won’t allow you to walk away from the safety and stability of
your family and its business. Looking first to you and then your father he says
quietly, “I believe there’s been a misunderstanding, could we please meet in
your private office to discuss this further?”

Haizaki

Barely keeping a lid on his temper, Haizaki rushes to your
position at the head seat practically dragging you to the balcony. The second the
door is shut he snaps, “Are you fucking stupid? Do you think I’ve put up with
all their bullshit just so you could throw away everything?” He curses when you
stutter out that you thought this was what he wanted, to be free from the scrutiny,
the backstabbing, the lies and the cheating. “Do you even know me?! That’s what
I’m good at, dumbass! Now, go back in
there and claim momentary insanity or something because there’s no way in hell
we’re leaving until you’re back on the fast track to leading this dump.”

Himuro

His heart races, shock pulling up waves of adrenaline as he
lets your words settle in the room. A moment later, the expected uproar hits
like a tidal wave but he sits silent, allowing you to handle the situation as
you see fit. He really wishes you would have discussed this with him prior but
now that the damage is done, he’ll stand by you. After all, you’re doing this
for him.

Mayuzumi

Rolls his eyes and sighs as he sets down his book. “Why must
you make everything so over dramatic?” he asks with a huff. Thankfully this was
only your test run, the meeting you intended to spout this at occurring the
following day. “Besides, hadn’t you heard? Akashi-san already bought your
family’s company, so whether you wanted it or not, it’s no longer yours.”

Imayoshi

You can’t read his expression, which is nothing new despite
all the time you’ve been together. Even with you, Imayoshi is guarded,
secretive and cunning. Which is why it really shouldn’t come as surprise when
he stands up next to you, coughing a bit in seeming embarrassment but that you
can see through for the facade it is. “As much as I appreciate your…adventurous
spirit, this supposed undiscovered path has already had its foundations laid
here.” He opens his eyes wider, meeting your gaze. “Your father signed the
corporation over to me this morning, so neither of us will be going anywhere
for some time.”

ah, bokuto!!! I just wanted to ask if maybe, we could hang out after your done with practice? ^^” I just got this new video game and my dog is dying for some attention. -def not Yena

*Bokuto nods enthusiastically, gathering you into a big hug* “That
sounds awesome Yena-chan! I’ve missed you and your doggie so much since I’ve
been soooo busy! Akaashi!!”

*The setter looks over from where he’s standing beyond the net* “I’m
going with Yena-chan, see you tomorrow!” *Akaashi
waves to you before Bokuto slings you on his back, walking down the street and
chattering a mile a minute about how well practice went today. You just sigh,
holding him around the neck firm but not too tight, a smile on your face.”
