H and B for Kageyama?

Birthday: “Well go on Tobio,” you coo, finger crooking for
him to come closer, “don’t you want to open your birthday present?” The
blue-eyed setter’s adam’s apple bobs, fingers clenching into tight fists.
You’re sprawled out on his bed, covered only by a black silk robe and he’s
fairly sure nothing else. It’s simple yet elegant, something he appreciates;
anything with hooks, clasps or intricate knots would be too much for him to
handle. He may have steady hands on the court but in the bedroom, he’s all
nerves and butterfly filled stomach.

Taking a deep breath, he steps forward, shaking hands
reaching down to loosen the flimsy tie. Two quick flicks of his wrists allow
the fabric to fall away revealing you in all your exposed glory.

He swallows again, eyes wide and cheeks flushed as he drinks
you in.

“Tobio,” you sigh, closing your eyes and arching your back,
“if you don’t get naked right now and on top of me I’m going to start without
you.”

He blinks once, twice, then tears his clothes off. Just when
you think he’s going to climb in to join you, he takes a seat on the end of the
bed.

“Show me how to touch you,” he whispers.

Well now, this is a surprise…

Handsy: Kageyama feels a tingle at the very tips of his
fingers which turns into a full blown electric current burning against his skin
as he looks at you. The day is a hot one, so you’d decided the perfect place
for you and your setter boyfriend would be the beach. Only now, Kageyama is regretting
his decision to agree with you. It’s not that he isn’t enjoying the view
because you look stunning in your bathing suit. It’s that he’s not sure how
long he can keep his hands off you and given that you’re in a very public and
crowded area his arousal is morphing into frustration.

“Come on Tobio,” you chirp, extending a hand behind you, “let’s
go in the water, it’s too hot to lay on the sand!”

Shucking his shirt, he clasps your digits with his own, the
two of you sprinting into the water.

“Awwww, that feels much better!” you exclaim, dunking under
a mid-sized wave. The swells aren’t large here, just enough to provide
entertainment in the form of splashing about or bogey boarding if one were so
inclined.

Turning around, you swallow thickly. Tobio looks…perturbed. “Sweetie,
what’s wrong?” you ask with furrowed brows.

Without a word, Kageyama hefts you into his arms, carrying
you past the wave break. Being taller than you he’s able to still stand in the
mostly still deep water but you’re clinging to him desperately.

“What’re you doing? You know I don’t like going out too far!”
you squeal.

He seals your lips with his own, wrapping your legs tighter around
his waist. Pulling back, he rasps, “Now I can touch you all I want.”

For the supernatural at event, could I possibly get Hunter Ushijima tracking down and destroying the creature who either kills or kidnaps (your choice) his s/o?

Thanks again to Admin Red! Definitely has the vibe of an
episode of Supernatural but I really
enjoyed this one! Warning for violence and death!

“Wakatoshi, she’s gone, someone took her.” Tendou’s words
echo in Ushijima’s ears as he floors the gas, pushing the pedal hard enough
that he won’t be surprised if he breaks it. The needle of the speedometer
progresses, numbers climbing higher and higher as he attempts with every fiber
of his being to get to your last known location before the trail goes cold.

Pulling up to the motel, he throws the car in park then
surges to the room number Tendou provided, his heavy boot making quick work of
the lock. Inside, his red headed fellow hunter whips around, gun drawn but he
sighs in relief as he re-secures it in the belt of his jeans.

“Fuck, Toshi, you have to be more discrete,” he complains.

“Why didn’t you protect her?” snaps the olive eyed male.

Tendou’s eyebrows knit together as a scowl replaces his normal
jovial smirk. “She told me to get something for us to eat while she took a
shower. Would you rather I didn’t listen? Plus, she’s more than able to handle
herself, it must have been blitz attack.”

Ushijima has been in this game long enough to know he
shouldn’t be surprised that any number of supernatural assholes would be
willing to resort to underhanded tricks and dirty methods to gain the object of
their desire. He and Tendou have garnered plenty of enemies in multiple realms
of the earth’s underbelly for him to have no idea where to even start looking.

“Ah!” Satori’s exclamation draws Wakatoshi out of his musings,
his narrowed eyes looking at his friend. “Found it.” In his hand he holds a
piece of the puzzle, a meaty, blood covered piece at that. Satori smirks. “Good
think we just bought all those silver rounds.”

Ushijima nods towards the door, steps hurried with Tendou
right behind him. If that pack has you, they don’t have a lot of time.

Can’t leave me alone
for ten minutes, fuck! What the hell kind of hunter am I anyway?”
you think
darkly, pulling at the chains binding your wrists despite the futility of the
action. Why had you not thought to keep your gun by you at all times? Because
you were exhausted and sleep deprived from your last hunt with the boys. It
wasn’t every day you went up against a creature who could give Freddy Fucking
Kruger a run for his money in terms of dream or rather nightmare manipulation
but really, almost three days without proper sleep would lull anyone’s sense of
guard.

Anyone except
Wakatoshi,”
you amend sighing. Wakatoshi, a man surrounded by his own myth,
a hunter’s hunter. And here you were, partner to said legend, kidnapped by a
bunch of scruffy fucking werewolves; how embarrassing. If you were to survive
this, you wonder if he’ll ever let you out of his sight again.

You’ve known each other for years, ever since you fell into
the hunter life thanks to a run in with a vampire in a dark alley; cliché but
some things can’t be helped. He’d saved you and you’d pledged loyalty to him.
At first, he ignored you, outright told you not to get involved and to leave
him the hell alone. But you were insistent, affirming that now that you knew
this world exists you wanted to do your part to contain it, to control it.

And you’d proven your worth over time, mostly on your own
until he finally relented to allow you to travel with him and Tendou.

Falling in love with him had not been part of the plan. Sometimes,
you think, just maybe he returns your feelings but even after so many long days
and nights by his side, it’s nearly impossible to read him. He’s put up a
strong, sturdy wall, the only one of whom has seen the other side of it being
Tendou and that’s only because they’re practically brothers, raised by a gruff
but loving widow who turned out to be one badass hunter herself.

A sudden cry pulls you out of your considerations, your
heartstrings pulled when you realize the sound is coming from a very young
girl. If she gets out of here alive, you have no doubt she’ll need years of
therapy just to function again.

“Stop crying!” booms the pack leader out of the darkness. A
startled cry erupts through the rest of the caged and chained humans caught by
this pack.

He stalks up to you, clawed finger stroking under your chin
making you hiss. “Be more like this one and maybe you’ll meet your end swiftly.”
Sounds of terror fill the room but he drowns them all out with his grating
laughter. His yellow eyes pierce the darkness drawing your gaze despite your
effort not to look. “Or maybe,” he whispers, breath ghosting over your face, “I
should tell you to be more like them!”
He punctuates his words by drawing a hint of blood to the surface of your skin.

You can’t help it, you spit in his face. “Like hell I will,
you filthy animal!” you shout.

“Bitch,” he roars and it’s the last thing you hear before
blacking out thanks to the strike upon your temple.

“So, I take it you don’t want to call for backup even though
we know there’s 15 in this den,” Tendou drawls out, sliding his clip into
place.

Ushijima answers simply, “No,” drawing his modified automatics.
He’ll put down every single one of these bastards to bring you home safely.

Satori smiles despite the dark tone of the moment. “She’s
probably just chilling out waiting for us to find her. She knows you’d never
let anything happen to her, at least, she would if you’d finally tell her how
you feel.” The slight blush upon his friend’s cheeks is enough to tell Satori he’s
hit the nail on the head. He’s gone long enough, he feels, not voicing an
opinion on the matter. “I tried to let things work out in their own time but
you’re ridiculously slow, Wakatoshi.”

“Let’s just get her,” Ushijima says firmly, cocking his
guns.

They’ve found the den thanks to information acquired from a
newly turned pup. How Tendou could guess at a creature’s identity is beyond
Ushijima’s understanding. Occasionally, he’s wondered at whether the red head’s
moniker of “Guess Monster” is closer to the truth than not but he’s never had the
nerve to ask him out right. Funny, considering he’s fearless when it comes to everything
else.

Save for the possibility that he may not make it to you in
time.

Taking a deep breath, he kicks in the door, two wolves
practically giving themselves whiplash when they look up the stairs at the
intruding hunters. A second later, blood erupts from their backs as two perfect
shots through their hearts hit their mark.

“Silver bullets are expensive as hell, but they certainly
get the job done,” quips Tendou with a sardonic grin.

A piercing howl announces their element of surprise is broken
but it doesn’t matter, Ushijima is a perfect shot and nothing is going to stop
him from getting to you, from gathering you in his arms, from kissing you and finally telling you how he feels.

Stalking through the corridor, Ushijima shoots every
werewolf he happens upon with unerring accuracy. From behind, he can hear
Tendou singing some inane song. “Shoot
them in the head, shoot them in the heart, doesn’t matter where you start, they
all end up dead.”
Sometimes he creeps Ushijima out more than that things
they hunt.

From behind another door, he hears wailing and kicks that in
too. The sounds become louder and coupled with them are the unmistakable sounds
of growling and yelps. As he descends, he happens upon three people coming up
the stairs. His initial reaction is to shoot them, but his eyes quickly take in
that they’re still human and none have been bitten. He nods in silent direction
for them to keep going and they comply swiftly, rushing out the door seeking
exit from this hell hole.

Another human, female and looking to be about twenty, rushes
up but this one he stops. “Are there any more down there?” he asks.

“Yes, there’s a young woman, a guy with black hair and a
brunette guy. They’re fighting that thing and told us all to run.”

Without another word, Ushijima launches himself over the
railing, landing and tucking into a roll so as not to damage his feet and
ankles. He’s upright in a flash, guns trained on the fight going on before him.
He can see the black-haired male struggling with a female werewolf, so he
shoots her once in the head before kicking her off of him and finishing the job
with a shot to the heart.

“Thank you,” pants the male before running out.

Glancing around the room, his eyes long adjusted to the
dark, Ushijima can see the carnage of a brutal fight. Blood splatters color the
wall a deep crimson while body parts lie in haphazard piles, previous victims
no doubt. The brunette, it seems, didn’t make it.

Lifting his head, he hollers your name, ears straining to
hear a reply. A cough draws his attention forward, eyes narrowing as he makes
his way towards the noise. Rounding another corner, his eyes widen at the sight
of you sprawled on the ground, clothes soaked in blood and bruises starting to
form on your face.

You’re the most beautiful thing he’s seen all day.

“Ushijima-san?” you grunt, doing your best to get upright.

He surges forward, skidding to his knees and drawing you
into his arms. “I’m here,” he says quietly.

“I knew you’d come,” you whisper, a soft smile on your face
as you look up at him.

One of your eyes is already beginning to swell shut and your
lips are cut badly but he can’t stop himself from leaning down to kiss you
gently. The action startles you, but you fight through the pain and increase
the pressure, thankful to finally know what it’s like to feel his warm lips on
your own.

The sound of steps breaks the moment and Ushijima wraps his
arm more firmly around you, his other raising his gun towards the entrance of
your confinement.

“Wakatoshi!” Satori calls, poking his head in to the
darkened room. It takes a moment but he whips his face in your direction and
you can’t help gasping at his gleeful smile as he sings out, “~They’re all
dead!~”

A sudden wince from you garners both boys’ concern. But
while Ushijima looks in your eyes, Tendou notices the wound on your leg and his
face falls. “Wakatoshi,” he says lowly, “she’s not going to make it.”

“Shut up, it’s just a cut,” Ushijima snaps but your touch eases
the heat of his gaze as he looks back down at you.

“We both know that’s not true,” you say, smiling despite the
tears rising in your eyes. Looking at his other hand, you gingerly wrap your
hand around the barrel of the gun and guide it to your chest.

Satori clears his throat, rushing forward to plant a kiss on
your forehead, whispering, “Sorry kid,” before turning around and leaving the
room. You smile at his back, thankful he’s allowing these final moments with
Wakatoshi to be held in private.

When you meet your gaze back to his, he’s shaking his head. “I
can’t…we,” he pulls the gun away setting it on the ground, “we’ll find a way.
There has to be something we can do.”

“This is our only option, you know that,” you insist picking
up the gun once more to hand it to him but he smacks it away.

“I can’t kill the woman I love!” he shouts. You’ve never
heard his voice so loud, so full of passion and it breaks your heart while
warming it at the same time.

A mirthless chuckle leaves your lips. “Damn you, Ushijima
Wakatoshi, you couldn’t confess at a more opportune time?” you chide.

“Stop it, stop acting like this is the end. Don’t give up! We’ve
overcome so much, we can do this! I can save you!”

Your hands clasp his face, drawing him down into a long,
passionate kiss. The feel of his hand in your blood-soaked hair makes you moan,
heat pooling in your stomach, a longing to have him but there’s no time.
Drawing back, you murmur against his mouth, “I love you too, Wakatoshi. That’s
why it has to be you. I can’t…I won’t
become one of those creatures. I want to die as a human and you have to help
me. Please, help me before it’s too late. I can already feel the transformation
taking hold, it won’t be long now.”

And then, Wakatoshi does something you’ve never seen before;
he cries. It’s silent but you don’t miss the tears trailing down his cheeks. He
chokes out, “There’s got to be a way, there’s a cure for vampirism in the early
stages, there has to be one for this too, we just haven’t found it yet!”

“And knowing you, you will,” you input quickly, turning your
head to cough out more blood, “but it’s too late for me. Now, bring back the
badass I fell in love with and kill me before I change.”

Letting out a shuddering breath, Ushijima stands, picking up
the discarded gun and leveling it at your chest. His eyes go hard, but just
before he pulls the trigger he says, “I love you and I always will.”

The echo of the shot reverberates around the building and as
it dies away he’s left with your lifeless form, alone in the dark.

Outside, Tendou wipes his eyes, unwilling to not be strong
for his friend. He turns at the creak of a step, face set in a grime
countenance as he watches his best friend, his brother, carry your body with
tears rolling down from empty eyes.

The second 1000 km training camp had me screaming tbh. Teshima and Aoyagi get to shine and Koga and Danchiku and Kaburagi and just aaaaagghhhhh!!!!! (Hopefully you got past that part or that would probably make no sense haha. 😅) And the Sugimoto brothers are so freaking cute omg. I wasn’t a huge fan of Sugimoto but I quickly changed my mind when New Generation came out. Sadatoki is the sweetest boy and Terufumi is such a good big brother and tbh I live for familial relationships in anime.

YES YES YES!!

I paused watching New Generation just after the conclusion of the sprint at the beginning of the Inter High.

I LOVE Koga, I want more of him like now but then again I’m soft for megane characters lol.

Oh my goodness the Sugimoto brothers are precious and yes, the elder one drove me crazy in the first season but that first year race in New Generation, his moments with Imaizumi were both heartwarming and wrenching.

Ugh, it’s just so good. I’ve entertained the thought of adding those characters as ones I’ll write for but have hesitated since I’ve been so behind. Thought also of starting a new blog but I don’t want to run three at once.

I will probably end up adding them lol.

Honestly Manami is one of my favorite characters from YP too. Like he terrified me at first (he’s kind of a demon child tbh) but he’s so precious??? Like at the end of the In High, how he tries his hardest for his team???? Best boy, 10/10. And Idk if you got to the HakoGaku part of New Generation yet, but Manami just… I love him. And Ashikiba is so cute, omg. Giraffe child.

More spoilers here for those who have not watched Yowamushi Pedal (please do and then come back here and scream about it with us because it’s amazing!)

LOL, demon child with wings, he’s so precious. I have seen a bit of him in New Generation and yes, his battle at the end was amazing.

And yes the giraffe, he is so awkward and weird but endearing, like, let me hug you, you tol softie.

I….love….Teshima in New Generation. Like, when I first saw him and Aoyagi it was like, “Back off my first years” but THEN Teshima shows up to help Onoda during the camp after he’s injured and is so encouraging and strong in his support of the team throughout the Inter High.

Then when he’s made captain, I swooned because HE’S SO PERFECT for it. Just, the way they wrote that whole arch of them getting ready for the Inter High again was beautiful.

AND AND AND, I SCREAMED out loud when Arakita and Kinjo ended up at the same university on the same team, like PLEASE give me more third years in university! Like that moment was so great!!!

Imaizumi’s character development is one of the best things about the series tbh. His relationship with Naruko is also my favorite (hardcore ship them, but that’s just me haha), just how they grow to accept each other as rivals and yet will help each other out, even if they’re super childish about it. And I’ve seen “Spare Bike”, I think it was, about how Maki and Toudou got into biking? (It’s been a while since I’ve watched it, tbh…)

Oh you’re right, helps if I get the name right lol.

I also love Naruko and his friendship, it’s so funny.

I don’t ship them, I don’t ship any characters together but that’s just my opinion lol.

The anime really surprised me with how it grabbed my heart right away, but it’s one of my favorites now!

Maki and Onoda’s friendship is one of the cutest things ever, I swear. I love Maki too, he was my favorite before Kaburagi came into the picture. But Kaburagi’s just such a little brat, I love him! I read the manga, and honestly at first I just thought he was super arrogant but there is so much more to his character and ugh I wanna hug him. And all of HakoGaku is just a disaster, like how can you not love that whole team?! (Especially with the OVAs after the ending song, they’re always so great)

I’ll put a read more here because my next sentences may have too many spoilers

I haven’t read the manga but I agree that at first he seems super arrogant but it’s cute how much he admires Onoda. Oh my goodness, the welcoming race in New Generation just tore me to pieces! How many more members they had trying out, how everyone was in awe of Onoda and he has NO IDEA how to be and the end is just heartbreaking.

Also, I LOVE Imaizumi’s development from start to where it is now. Like, he starts out SO SELFISH and single minded only become actually a really good teammate, friend and eventual senpai.

YES, I love HakoGaku! I did not like Arakita at all at the beginning (at least during his flashbacks because he’s so annoying) but now he’s one of my favorites, especially after he saves Onoda and Manami from the pack (which that whole idea was hilarious!)

Yes, the OVAs after the credits are priceless, I laugh so hard at all of them and watched the summary movies just to see more of them.

Did you happen to watch the OVA “Spare Bike”? It’s so amazing!

Who is your favorite from Yowamushi Pedal?!?! (I love that anime so much and the fandom can be a little hard to find, so I’m glad you said that you like it too. Kaburagi’s my personal favorite.)

I’m surprised it’s hard to find because the anime is SO GOOD and they’ve been out fairly recently.

Anyway, to answer your question, oh my gosh that is a hard one! I love so many for so many reasons (which is the bane of most of sports animes honestly).

But I have to say my favorite is Makishima. I just adore him. He’s cool but awkward at the same time and his hair is amazing lol.

I especially love how he comes a bit more out of his shell to Onoda (another favorite, honestly their friendship makes my heart warm).

I forgot to mention, I haven’t finished the current season of New Generation because I want to wait until the new season is released next year. I get so spoiled being able to binge watch full seasons but I’m super excited that they’ll be continuing.

Why is Kaburagi your fave? And thanks for reaching out!

Headcanons on Ukai finding out his girlfriend turns into a fairy at night who helps restore life to abandoned forests and heals people in the hospital?

More thanks to @supern-a-vengers for the seeds on this one!

  • Ukai isn’t sure what wakes him up but when he finds his girlfriend
missing from his bed he isn’t concerned at first, she probably just went to the
bathroom or something. But as more time passes he grows concerned and goes to
    make sure she’s ok.
  • What he does not expect when he opens the door into the
hallway is to see her standing by an open window…glowing…with opaque wings
    sticking out of her back!
  • His voice is caught in his throat as she flutters those
sparkling appendages and leaps out of the window which he rushes to only to
find her soaring into the night sky.
  • He pinches himself hard, but when he realizes he’s not
dreaming he rushes to his bedroom to grab his shoes and jacket, though he’s not
sure if he’ll be able to see her by the time he gets outside. He’s also not
    sure why he’s following her.
  • Upon exit of his home, he sees a faint trail of what he would
have previously presumed was dust were it not glowing so brightly. Going for
broke, he rushes through the dark streets in pursuit.
  • When he reaches the edge of a forest, he gulps; it’s awfully
dark in there. But a momentary flash of light signals the direction to head and
    he charges forward.
  • As he comes upon a clearing, he sees she’s shrunk to the
size roughly of a humming bird, flitting from flower to flower, sprinkling
something over their petals. After a short glow, they seem to perk up. In fact,
the whole area seems brighter and more full of life.
  • She turns, a startled squeak escaping her lips and her eyes
are wide. How did she not notice him following her?
  • “Keishin,” she whispers, enlarging to her full human form,
though her wings are still present. “I…I…” she’s at a loss for words.
  • Swallowing his trepidation, mostly at the discovery that the
supernatural realm is a lot more real than he previously believed, he steps
fully into the center of the trees, arms open to her.
  • She rushes forward hugging him tightly and he keeps his
hands on her waist for fear of crushing her wings.
  • “I won’t ask the stupid question of why you didn’t tell me,”
he mumbles into her hair, “I just…wow, you’re so beautiful.” She pulls away to
look at him, tears hanging in her eyes. “I mean, I thought you were beautiful
before,” he flusters, cheeks red, “But this, you…you’re stunning.”
  • She sighs, leaning up to kiss him and he smiles against her
lips. “So this is why you took so long to stay the night with me,” he chides
softly, “you have a super secret, forest saving job.”
  • She giggles, tugging his hand towards the entrance of the
forest. “That’s not all I do,” she confesses. “I…I also heal minor illnesses
for people in the hospital. I can’t save the full fatal ones,” she goes on
sadly, “but I can help make sure those who have small diseases don’t get worse.”
  • He stares at her with wide eyes then pulls her into a more
fierce kiss. “I love you, I love your heart, I love everything about you,” he
admits and she blushes. He releases her, giving a confident smirk. “Get your
wings in gear, baby, I’ll be waiting for you at home when you’re done.”
  • She nods, kissing his cheek before soaring into the sky.

Aomine works as a soldier for Japan’s National Guard and their biggest challenge so far is the crime organization that’s working with aliens that invaded the planet. Aomine’s s/o was a genius scientist who was abducted by the organization and Aomine hasn’t seen her since. Years later he found out the org has been utilizing her extensive knowledge to help in the evolution of aliens and humans alike so he has no choice but to stop her. He also found out that the s/o is actually a clone. (1)

The real s/o was killed, but the clone was injected with her memories so she knows Aomine. Angst, and you get to decide the ending. Sorry this is more sci-fi than supernatural but I still hope it’s acceptable. Thanks and good luck with your AU event! ^^ (2)

So anon, I really like this idea but my brain took me in a different direction so while the essence of your request is here, I changed up a few things. Also, warning for violence and death. I don’t want to say who or how because it will spoil it more than it already has so if the idea makes you squeamish, skip this one.

As the dust settles, Aomine blinks. That was one hell of an explosion. Turning, he smirks at Kagami. “You really know your shit when it comes to being explosive.”

“Was that your bad attempt at a pun? You’ve been hanging around Izuki too much,” grumbles Hyuuga, shifting the weight of his semi-automatic.

“Hey, I resemble that remark!”

“Will you all shut up! We need to focus!” snaps Riko. The words are barely out of her mouth before gun fire erupts. Struck in the shoulder, she hisses in pain but she fights through it loosing off her own shots towards the advancing enemy.

“We need to get to the central core,” shouts Aomine over the fray, “Tetsu, come on, let’s go!” The ace shooter and shadow bob and weave around the debris, rushing through corridor after corridor as their squad covers them.

“This way!” Kuroko indicates, ducking around a corner only to come face to face with one of the aliens. He skirts back, unable to raise his weapon in time but a splash of blue and not red signals his partner has saved his ass.

“I swear, Tetsu, I don’t know how you’ve survived the war this long, you’re a terrible shot even when you do manage to get your finger on the trigger.”

“Thanks, Aomine-kun,” Kuroko breathes, heart still racing at just how close he came to death.

The two blue haired males continue on their way, the sound of gun fire echoing behind them. They can only hope all will make it out of this alive. Finally, they spot the door they’ve been searching for and rush through it before Kuroko grabs his barricader and slides it into the handles. “It won’t give us a lot of time, but enough to get this done,” he comments. When Aomine doesn’t respond, he turns, eyes widening. In front of them, stand hundreds and hundreds of pods, all filled with bodies.

“Wha…what the hell is this?” Aomine chokes out.

As they get closer, both notice the figures are grotesque, some with extra limbs, some missing limbs. Some have two or three heads while others have none. But the most terrifying realization is that the pulsing resonance in the room are heart monitors. All of these…things…are alive.

“Dai-kun?”

A feminine voice startles both males and they raise their guns towards the sound. Normally a shoot first and ask questions later kind of guy, Aomine hesitates at hearing his first name. No, not just his first name, a name he hasn’t heard in years. There’s only two people in the entire world who call him that, or rather called him that since he knew them both to be dead. As his eyes fall on the woman moving towards him, he frowns; he doesn’t know her at all so how does she know him?

“I can’t believe it’s really you,” she whispers, heedless of the heavy hardware trained on her.

“Who the fuck are you?” Aomine can’t help asking. “And stay right where you are!”

Blinking away tears, she keeps moving, propelled towards the one person in the whole world she never thought she’d see again. “It’s me, Dai-kun, it’s ________.”

Aomine narrows his eyes, trigger finger twitching. “Don’t you dare say her name, you bitch!”

She flinches, then smiles warmly. “Of course, I forgot, I’m….I look different now,” she comments, “but it’s really me. I know! I’ll prove it! Ask me something you know only _______ would know.”

Aomine can feel himself trembling. How long has it been since he heard her name? If he had his way, no one would think it let alone speak it aloud to him and here’s this bitch, their enemy, casually claiming to be the one person in the entire world he loved more than anything else; more than himself, more than basketball when he played it once upon a time.

Why hasn’t he shot her yet?

Kuroko opens his mouth to protest but Aomine is already speaking. “Where did we meet?”

“You were on the roof top at school. I’d just finished practice with the dance team and went to get some fresh air and found you. We talked and you asked for my number but I wouldn’t give it to you that easily.”

“What did I leave in your locker?”

She smiles, but it’s not _______’s smile, it’s the smile of a stranger. “A basketball with your number on it.”

Aomine wants to believe no matter how impossible it is, that this is true. That somehow, _______, the love of his life is within this unfamiliar shell. But these questions are too easy. He’d been warned, been threatened by the mafia who ran with these bastards that they’d get him. They knew he was a threat, that as an ace shooter on the Vorpal squad he’d be a menace to them and he has been. So it’s no wonder they’ve sent someone to-

“Aomine-kun.” Kuroko’s voice startles the taller male; he’d completely forgotten he was here. “We need to hurry.”

“Go on then, I’ll be right there,” Aomine replies.

“But-“

“Just go, Tetsu!” he snaps.

“Be careful, remember, they’re tricky.” Kuroko moves past the woman, her heedless of where he’s going and why. She knows she should care and a part of her is positively screaming to act, to kill them, to protect what she’s worked so hard to create but she can’t. Not now that he’s here.

“I never thought I’d see you again,” she murmurs but at the look in his eyes she pauses again. “I can see you’re still not convinced, ok then, ask me something really, really personal. Something you know for sure no one else in the whole world would know except for _________.” It feels weird speaking about herself in the third person but if it’s what Dai-kun needs to move forward, to understand, to believe that’s it’s really her even if it’s a different body, then she’ll do it.

Aomine takes in a deep breath, his mind racing trying to think of something while at the same time berating him for even playing this game. No doubt this is a delay tactic, a way to make sure he doesn’t complete his mission but he’s missed her so much and he’s heard about this. Heard about people running into strangers who claimed to know them, claimed to be someone they weren’t, but it always ended up the same way; with someone or something dead.

Swallowing, Aomine looks her in the eye. “What did I say to you after the first time we had sex?”

She sniggers, the sound foreign in his ears. “Oh Dai-kun, of course your mind would go there,” she chides. Settling herself, she returns the intensity of his stare. “You told me that I beat you and it was the closest thing to a confession of love I’d ever get.”

Pain slams through Aomine’s chest at the remembrance, at the feel of her beneath him that first time, of her scent surrounding him, her lips on his, his hands on her. He’d forgotten, forgotten all of that until now, the memories too painful to allow to the surface so he pushed and pushed and pushed until he tread upon them, until they no longer haunted his dreams. How could this…. thing know so much about him and his ________?

“How?” One word filled with so much.

“I…when I was taken, they tried to make me work for them. Torture, you don’t know the meaning of the word but I wouldn’t give in. They broke my body trying to weaken my mind but I wouldn’t give up. I…I wouldn’t betray my own kind.” Her voice quivers and he has to stop himself from drawing her in. He can’t, this can’t be real!

“So,” she goes on, tears spilling on the ground, “eventually they decided if I wouldn’t comply in my own body, they’d put my mind somewhere more controllable.” Aomine’s gut clenches, whatever food he’d managed to shove in his mouth today wanting to erupt back out of it. “They removed my brain and fused it with one of their kind. That was three years ago and I’ve…well, you can see.” When her arm extends behind her, Aomine clenches his fist.

“You made those?! Why, what purpose could they possibly serve?” he roars. “My _______, would never….could never do that!”

His weapon clatters to the ground, hands fastening around her throat. Wide terrified eyes stare into his. “I don’t know what the fuck you did to her to get the information you did or the purpose of doing it, but one thing I do know is you are going to die. If she’s still alive, I’ll find her, but I doubt that.”

She chokes out, “Dai-kun….I….I’m right here. Stop…please…”

“No more lies!” he bellows, squeezing harder, feeling her pulse thunder against his fingers. A garbled noise of pain leaves her lips which are rapidly turning blue, her nails scratching and clawing at his skin but he’s relentless, eyes full of rage and hate and death. Because he’s fully dead inside now. He’d always hoped maybe he’d find her one day but that hope is gone. He knows she’s dead.

Just like the woman who’s now on her knees, eyes rolled in the back of her head. When he releases, her body crumples to the ground in a heap.

“Aomine-kun, we-“ Kuroko stops short, eyes wide at the sight of his ace standing over the very dead body of the woman he’d seen before.

When Aomine lifts his head, Kuroko almost shrinks back. There’s no more light, no more life, just empty vacant pools. “Let’s go, Tetsu,” he says lowly, stepping into the corridor and shutting the door. They begin running again, Kuroko pressing a button on a remote once they’re clear and another explosion rocks the foundations of the compound.
