These were fun to write. I think I matured Yachi a bit but
hey, this is fiction so enjoy it for
what itās worth right?
Moriyama
It doesnāt take long for Moriyama to notice her. A cute
bubbly blonde with her hair in a side pony tail and blue star hair clips? How could he not notice her? Sheās in the front row, talking animatedly with her
friend, hands flying around. āHow
adorable,ā he thinks as he stretches.
Yachi doesnāt notice him, at least not yet, too invested in
her story. But when the buzzer sounds indicating the beginning of the game, her
head whips to face the court, eyes focusing in on the action; she prefers volleyball and is curious why her friend is so adamant about coming to this
game.
Moriyama sees his chance, implementing his unorthodox shot
and earning shocked gasps and cheers from the crowd. Yachiās eyes are wide,
completely caught off guard by his motions.
āEh?! Donāt they usually shoot like this?ā she asks her
friend hands flinging over her head in a shooting motion. Looking back to the court
she adds, āThat was amazing!ā
Moriyama is running by just as she says this, stopping in
his tracks and back peddling till heās right in front of her. Pointing to her,
he says, āThat shot was for you.ā She blushes furiously, the shade increasing
when he adds, āIf youād like, I could show you that shot up close after the
game.ā He winks and charges back down the court, Kasamatsu yelling at him to
get his head in the game.
Behind him, the shooting guard leaves a very bewildered and
flustered Yachi, her friend shrieking about how she has to bring her with her so she can finally meet Kise.
Izuki
Possessing a rather astute sense of his surroundings (he
doesnāt have the Eagle Eye for nothing) Izuki catches sight of a cute little
blonde screaming and shouting at the top of her lungs for the Karasuno
volleyball team. Izuki is at their game against Dateko, there to watch his
cousin play, though heās been on the bench most of the time since heās not yet
a starter. So the point guard doesnāt feel too bad allowing his attention to
wane, continuously turning to the girl in the stands. Sheās wearing the same
black jacket as the other pretty girl whoās on the bench.
During the court switch after the second set, one a piece
for Karasuno and Dateko, Izuki makes his way to the opposing sideās bleachers.
Heās able to squeeze in, taking a place beside the girl whoās garnered his
notice though her attention is steadfastly focused on the court.
The next set begins and Izuki chuckles every now and again
at how enthusiastic she is when cheering for her team. He wouldnāt mind having
some of that directed to him when heās playing to be honest. As the game nears its
end, he feels the familiar tingle of nerves; it doesnāt matter who it is,
approaching a girl is rather nerve racking.
The final spike hits the ground, signifying Karasunoās
victory and the girl jumps up but in her excitement, slips on the
ground tumbling backwards. Izuki is quick, hands shooting out to grab her and pull her
up, the motion unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask) resulting in her being pressed right against his chest.
Looking up, her eyes catch his and her face flushes crimson;
sheās the cutest thing heās ever seen. Before she can apologize he snickers and
says, āI knew the second I saw you that youād fall for me.ā
Yachi blinks, mouth opening and closing in shock before her
eyes crinkle and she snorts. Covering her mouth, she starts giggling and Izuki
can feel the vibrations of her mirth.
Smiling widely, he lets her go but adds,ā You know what this
shirt is made of?ā She shakes her head, eyes giving away that she knows
somethingās coming but she doesnāt know what. Leaning down, he whispers, āBoyfriend
material.ā Her blush is back, giggles more nerves than mirth filled but he does
manage to get her number, before the Karasuno boys are yelling from below, āLeave
our precious manager alone!ā
Of course you can! ⤠I really enjoyed writing this, so I hope everyone enjoys reading it too!
Prompt: āAre you really going to leave without asking me the question youāve been dying to ask me?ā Ā
For better or for worse, it was finally here.
Graduation day.
Honestly, it felt like it came way too fast. You told yourself, every single day, that you would finally confess to your 3rd year crush before he left.
Most students were either scared of him or disappointed that he wasnāt what they expect, but he was the most amazing person to you. Handsome, sweet, yet surprisingly easy to scare.Ā
Still thatās what made him so cute and endearing.
You had wanted nothing more than to just be able to talk to him more, to see him more, and thank him for all the times he helped you over the past 2 years you spent at this school.
And yet, here you are, an even bigger coward than THE Asahi, biggest coward in the whole school.
You could only sigh and watch from afar as he stood over by his friends. They were laughing together and he occasionally let a tear fall down his eye as they recalled all the fond memories they had.
It was useless now. You passed up any chance you could have had with him and you knew it. This was the last day you could even see him, and yet you could hardly even look at him anymore, feeling tears of your own welling up in your eyes as you slowly head toward the school gate, getting ready to leave.
āUmm, excuse me.ā
Upon hearing his voice, you jumped but immediately turned around. At first, you thought maybe you were being too hopeful. That maybe he was calling out for someone else. And yet you look up, and itās you heās looking down towards, with eyes seemingly a bit too open.
āA-are you crying! Oh- I-Iām so sorry, I didnāt mean to scare you! Itās just- my friend- he said that I should ask you a question and-ā
āItās fine, Asahi-san! Y-you didnāt scare me at all! Umm, what did your friend want you to ask me?ā
āReally?ā He let out a sigh of relief, āIām glad I didnāt scare you. Anyway, Iām not really sure what my friend meant, but he wanted me to ask you āAre you really going to leave without asking me the question youāve been dying to ask me?ā Or, uh, something like that, I think?ā
You look off to the side of Asahi to see Nishinoya giving you a thumbs up. Mouthing words that you canāt really understand, but you nonetheless get what heās trying to say.
You looked back up to Asahi and took a deep breath.
āAsahi-san, I wanted to ask you out all year, but I⦠I just couldnāt find the courage to confess. So ummā¦ā Ā You bowed low and quick, undoubtedly startling him,āC-Could I please have your 2nd button?!ā
There was a moment of silence and you couldnāt bear to look up again. Surely you messed all this up. You shouldāve just walked away, or made something up.
ā___-san, c-can I see your hand?ā
You immediately shot up, startling Asahi yet again. Your brain is running auto, You donāt even question him, just nearly punching him in the gut from shooting your hand out so fast.
He let out a nervous chuckle before gently placing one of his hands under yours before hovering over with his other, gently placing the button in your hand.
āThank you, ___-san, for telling me how you feelāā
āDONāT WORRY ____-SAN! IāLL GIVE YOU HIS NUMBER TOMORROW!ā
āN-NISHINOYA!ā
Awwww!!! This is so sweet! I love my handsome cinnamon roll! Thank you! Guys, go follow @@hq-hq-headcanons and request your fave Haikyuu character with a number from the drabble list!
With the exception of the scenario that wonāt be done til tomorrow, my ask box is empty! Feel free to send more stuff, even if youāve already sent asks, and feel free to send me prompt lists that you think will be fun! Just submit the link in the submissions box and Iāll reblog it!
THANK YOU FOR THESE WONDERFUL PAIRINGS! Because I love both
you get BOTH! Also, thank you for the congratulations and for following and
participating! š
Just for reference, Yachi is 4ā 10ā, 93.7 lbs
Murasakibara (Height: 6ā 10ā, 218 lbs)
How they met: Yachi got lost (again) and was waiting for a
train when Muraās shadow literally covered her. When she looked up, she fainted
because surely this monster was going to kill her. Mura took her to the doctor
(with Tatsuya in tow so no one would think he was kidnapping her). When she
woke up he gave her one of his lollipops.
Second encounter: Mura had picked up her wallet when it fell
out of her bag and shows up at her school to return it. Needless to say,
everyone now believes Yachi has ties to the Yakuza and no amount of correcting
is going to change that opinion. It would have ended there if Yachi, in her
constant need to pay people back, hadnāt offered to bring him cookies to say
thank you. His interest level was of course peaked.
First date: Was kind of an accident since when she showed up
to bring him the cookies it was near dinner time so he decided to take her
along as a thank you for coming all the way to see him. Conversation is pretty
much non-existent because Mura doesnāt talk much and Yachi was way too nervous but somehow, they both
left that evening having enjoyed the otherās company. They exchanged phone
numbers.
Start of Relationship: Again, mostly it was an accident. The
two of them text back and forth constantly, usually her showing him recipes
(mostly desserts) that she wants to try and him letting her know heāll be her
taste tester. Eventually, Tatsuya points out that Mura spends all his free time going to see Yachi and
that maybe he should just make it official. āBesides, you wouldnāt want her
baking for anyone else, would you?ā He asks her out that night promptly making
her faint yet again.
Relationship Dynamics/Habits
Quite difficult to hold hands given their size difference.
If they are walking together they either donāt or if Mura is feeling
particularly touchy, heāll sling her on his back, her tiny arms wrapped around
his neck.
He kisses the top of her head frequently.
Their first kiss? Yet another accident. She looked up to say
something, he bent down to kiss her head and instead hit her lips. Both blushed
furiously but Mura was the first to recover, offering a slight smile. āNe?
Yachi-chinās lip gloss tastes yummy,ā he said going in for another sample.
When relaxing together, Yachi loves to curl up on his chest
and stomach while they watch TV and he idly plays with her hair.
Neither of their respective teams completely understand how
this relationship works seeing as Yachi is a consistent fluttery mess of nerves
while Mura is unimpressed by pretty much everything. Then again, maybe thatās
why theyāre a perfect match.
Akashi (Height: 5ā 8ā, 141 lbs)
How they met: Akashi caught sight of a poster Yachi did
advertising a fund raiser for the childrenās hospital and decided not only to
donate but find the person responsible for making the color art. āYou have true
talent,ā he said when he found her, his intense eyes making her knees shake as
she stammered out a thank you. Heād not intended to be more interested in the
artist than her art but being Akashi, decided he would go after what he wanted;
and he wanted Yachi.
Second encounter: Akashi found where Karasuno would be
playing a match (he has his sources you know) and showed up to see her. He
ended up impressed with the team as a whole but focused his attention solely on
speaking to her after the game. When the boys tried to defend her, Akashi was tempted to use his Emperor eye to break through but Yachi assured them theyāve
met before and it was ok, even though her voice was quivering. When they left them alone, Akashi formally asked her to dinner. She was si stunned she just stood there gapping like a fish. āA non-verbal answer will suffice,ā he said and she
nodded.
First Date: Surprisingly simple because Akashi, of course,
understands right away that Yachi would not do well in any setting too fancy or
formal. But, ever the romantic, he plans a picnic at a large park, the meal
prepared by his chef. Yachi is in awe, blushing and stammering the whole time
feeling like sheās making a fool of herself. Once he asks about Karasuno, she
starts talking more easily, going on about the boys and all that sheās learned
from them. Ordinarily, Akashi would be annoyed to have his date expounding on
the good qualities of potential rivals but her words assured him they were, while
important to her, not romantic
interests; good.
Start of Relationship: After a few dates, Akashi decides
Yachi is just the ray of sunshine (wrapped in a nervous, overactive imagination
that he finds surprisingly quaint) he needs in his life in a more concrete
nature. A traditionalist, he acquires her motherās permission to date her. Madoka is rather taken aback by this young man, but believes him when
he says he will never allow harm to come to her daughter and will always
treat her with the utmost respect. Receiving her blessing, Akashi takes Yachi
out to dinner that same night, telling her to dress up a bit. Over dinner he
said, āI have a question, Yachi-chan, or rather a requestā¦make that two.ā When
she met his eyes he asked, āOne, I would like you to be my girlfriend and two,
I would like to call you Hitoka.ā After choking on air for a few moments, Yachi
accepted.
Relationship Dynamics/Habits
Akashi prefers to avoid PDA (which is fine with Yachi) but
will keep his arm wrapped securely around her shoulders if they are in thick
crowds; he doesnāt want to lose her or have her get hurt.
But he does love to kiss her hands, either one or both, when
he is showing more affection.
Frequently sends her little gifts so she knows heās thinking
of her when time with their respective teams, school and other responsibilities
keep them apart for any significant space of time.
She has her own room at the manor for when she visits so she
doesnāt have to take a late train.
They take up dancing lessons, or rather Yachi does being
taught by Akashi how to waltz despite her clumsy nature.
The Rakuzan boys adore her. Nebuya because sheās a good cook
and will bring them all homemade bentos for after practice when sheās staying with
Akashi, Mibuchi because sheās the cutest thing ever, and Hayama because he loves how much energy she has, just
like him. The boys of Karasuno are weary of Akashi but respect him and are glad
that he makes Yachi happy.
Aah thank you so much! This request was a bit tricky for me with some characters (might be obvious which ones lol), but was a ton of fun to do! I hope you enjoy it!
Hinata:Ā
Hinata is definitely Spiderman (and not just because heās called so in the show.) Both are known to be small fries in their respective series, are under estimated, but always prove themselves to be more than what you expect. Plus, Hinataās comment about beingĀ āfrom the concrete,ā is aligned with Spider-manās constant wise cracking.
Kageyama:Ā
In terms of personality and abilities, Kageyama is very similar to Scarlet Witch. Both tend to be hotheaded/easy to snap, socially awkward, yet well regarded within their talents (I mean, Scarlet Witch redesigned the universe when she got upset. She has the power.) Even so, both become slightly more open as time goes on, becoming viable parts to their team.
Tsukishima:Ā
Iron man. Sassy, taunting, and slightly indifferent to their responsibilities at first, both Iron man and Tsukishima can be hard to be around for some people, yet theyāre both invaluable and both experience a moment that completely changes their outlook on their responsibilities.
Yamaguchi:Ā
Considering his transition from being (an absolute cutey patooey) a character portrayed as weak and invaluable, to having a complete badass moment of pride, to being completely invaluable to the team, I canāt help but think of Yamaguchiās development as being similar to Captain America. Both are just so earnest and hardworking, and just wanted to be useful towards a cause they both believed in.
Tanaka:Ā
Boisterous, silly, hotheaded, and wanting to be with the ladies, Tanaka just screams Human Torch to me. Both are here to kick ass at what they do, are protective of those they care for, and can focus and get serious when the time calls for it.
Noya:Ā
I canāt help but see Noya as the Flash. Both are fast, wanting to be with ladies, larger than life dedication to saving the day, and outgoing personality that connects him with others. They take life at their own pace, which is a hundred miles faster than any other, while also taking the time to slow down just a little to give others a push forward when theyāre stuck.
Daichi: Ā
This might be cheating, but I gotta bring back Captain America. Both Daichi and Captain America are friendly and caring. Theyāre always pulling as much of their weight as they can for the sake of their teams, while also trying to keep the peace to stay united. Because of that, you better be ready for a stern talking to (or a shield to the face) if you do something you arenāt supposed to.
Suga: Due to Sugaās role in the story, I canāt help but choose a guilty pleasure of mine. Doctor Strange goes from an accomplished surgeon, to being lowered by an accident, to being the hardly known and often overlooked protector of the universe. I just canāt help but see them and theirĀ ābackseatā but important roles as being too similar for me to pass up. (That being said, Suga was luckily never a huge asshole like Dr.S was.)
Asahi:Ā
Strong, intimidating, yet as cute as a teddybear, Asahi can be no one else but Thor. They both are just kind sweetie pies who just happen to look like they might be gigantic jerks. Plus, Thor being the mightiest of Asgard definitely mirrors the importance of Asahi being the team Ace.
Bravo!!! I think you nailed everyone perfectly! Yama as Captain America?? I can see it! Smiled the whole time reading this. Hey everyone, go follow @hq-hq-headcanons! They are just getting started so go drop some asks and love in their box and the above is the quality content youāll receive!
What a cute idea! I hope
you donāt mind I took the liberty to add reader-chan as well!
Kuroko: Spending so much
time indoors (save for running during practice) Seirinās phantom builds a make shift tent
in the small backyard of his familyās home. Tetsuya #2 rather enjoys being able
to run about and roll in the grass while his master does his homework. When you
arrive to his place to go get dinner, you giggle at the sight of man and dog
asleep. Leaving them be, you head to Maji Burger, bringing a to go order of
burgers, fries and Tetsuyaās favorite vanilla shake back to the tent.
Mayuzumi: He doesnāt so
much build a tent, as a nest in his room, piled high with blankets and pillows with
his stack of light novels close by. When you arrive to visit, he does little
more than lift his arm, inviting you to climb into the mass of comfort.
Settling next to him, you open your own book, both of you releasing breaths of
contentment; itās nice to be with someone who doesnāt need to talk all the
time.
Kise: Thoroughly in tune
with his inner (some may say not inner enough) child, Kise gets it into his
head that erecting a tent in the middle of the living room is a great idea. Calling you up he exclaims, ā____-cchi,
come over, weāre going to have an indoor camp night!ā Bewildered you show up to
find heās made a rather large tent using multiple sheets, pillows and couch
cushions. In the middle of said tent are even more pillows and his laptop. āCome
on,ā he says eagerly pulling you in, āweāll watch a movie and eat snacks!ā
Midorima: When Midorima
hears a knock at the door, he thinks nothing of it until he hears his mother greeting
you by name. His eyes widen as you enter from the hallway, your expression of
surprise mirroring his as you take in the sight of his room overtaken by frilly
sheets and plushies. āItā¦thisā¦Iā¦āhe stutters only to be cut off by his little
sister adorably calling out, ā____-chan! Come into our tent and braid my hair!ā
Murasakibara:
Approaching your boyfriendās house, youāre shocked to see a pop up tent set up
with Mura lying flat on his back inside of it. Nearing the entrance, you call
out and ask him what heās doing. āEh? Oh, hi ____-chin, itās too crowded in
there,ā he answers nodding his head backwards towards his house. Ah, his siblings
must all be visiting. Crawling into the tent with him, you lie down as well,
discovering it has a sky light out which you can see the stars. Itās rather
romantic, until you hear Mura start munching on chips.
Looking at this one now, I probably should have edited to be wearing their clothes, but letās see what I can come up with.
Imagine Prompt #8 – Wearing Each Otherās Clothes
Aomine: Thereās one article of clothing you own Aomine allows
himself to wear: your worn in ball cap. Itās like the thing magically fits on
whoeverās head it sits upon and is the most comfortable piece of headwear heās
ever worn. You, on the other hand, absolutely love wearing one of his old
t-shirts, the cotton worn soft and some holes starting to appear in the seams.
It smells like him in all the best ways and is your go to for sleeping in.
Aomine loves that because he can tease that heās always in bed with you when
you where it.
Kiyoshi: Kiyoshi is
rather cuddly, so will have no qualms about wrapping one of your plushy scarves
around his neck when winter is in full force. He doesnāt even care if itās a āgirlyā
color; it keeps him warm and has your scent lingering on it. One of your
favorite things to wear is one of his sweaters which fits you like a dress. And
thatās exactly how you wear it, belting the middle, throwing on leggings and
boots underneath. Of course, Teppei likes it best when you wear it by itself,
your bare legs on display curled up near the fire.
Kagami: Despite his gigantic
feet, thereās this one pair of socks you own which stretch for miles and he
loves to wear them because theyāre so warm. He doesnāt know how they havenāt
stretched too far for you to wear too but heās never heard you complain of him
ruining them. You enjoy wearing a pair of his basketball shorts, tying the
drawstring extra tight to keep them from falling. Theyāre especially nice in
the summer, allowing you to have your legs exposed without giving the poor boy
a heart attack because he can see your thighs!
Hi back! And no itās not
too much to ask, itās exactly what I was hoping to receive. Thank you for your
love, support and well wishes, they are all very much appreciated. Iām so
pleased you like my writing!
Imagine Prompt #20 ā
Heated Argument (brief NSFW theme for Aomine, not worth tagging post as such)
Aomine: This boy is
pretty confrontational and not afraid to speak his mind, sometimes quite
loudly. In all honesty, reconciliation will most likely occur in the form of
angry make up sex, whether it was you or him that was in the wrong. āHow can
you stay mad at me, when I can make you feel so good?ā
Kiyoshi: As weāve seen,
it takes a lot to get Kiyoshi angry
enough to react in any way one would consider heated. Most likely, heāll walk
away from the situation before he lets himself really rip into you if he feels
heās reaching his breaking point. Heāll only come back after heās calmed down,
hoping you have too, and resume then. āLetās both just start over and really listen
to each other, eh?ā
Kagami: Unsurprisingly, heās similar to Aomine in that heās
reactive to what people say to him. So if you say something that really hurts
or pisses him off, heāll fire right back at you. But, as weāve seen with his
friends, if he realizes heās in the wrong, he will apologize eventually. If youāve
wronged him, and are genuinely sincere in your apology, heāll forgive you. āCan
we just agree to disagree on somethings? Not everything has to be a fight, you
know?ā
Thank you for being such a sweetie
and dealing with my crazy behind! Realized after we chatted that singular
requests for the list work fine BUT I love your choices for this one and am happy
to do them. Thanks for being such an active participant on my blog!
Imagine Prompt #3 – Doing Laundry
Akashi: Letās be real here, homeboy
does not do his own laundry, heās got servants for such menial tasks. However,
he does draw the line with his
attendant picking out his clothes. Heās an (almost) grown man, heāll pick out
his clothes himself thank you very much.
Midorima: Excessively organized and
anal about color separation, going so far as to separate whites from off
whites. Each load is washed, dried and put away before the beginning of a new
week. His mother appreciates having one less child to worry about cleaning up
after.
Aomine: Could give a crap about
sorting, not that it would really matter considering he owns mostly dark
clothing made primarily of cotton. Waits until his hamper is pretty much
overflowing then shoves everything in all at once. As a result, not all items
end up fully clean or dry but he doesnāt care. Itās a miracle that he hangs anything
up really.
Kiyoshi: Having been taught by both
his mother and grandmother the importance of understanding domestic responsibilities,
Kiyoshi is satisfactorily adept at doing laundry, whether it just be his or
helping with the rest of the familyās. Heāll make a good husband one day, fully
willing to share the household chores.
Hanamiya: Surprisingly willing to
do his own laundry, mostly to hide from his mother the blood stains acquired
during his breaking of other people. That and he knows she works hard so having
one less chore to worry about is something heās willing to give her, she being
the only person in the whole world he cares about more than himself. Ā
Donāt be sorry! I love getting requests and Iām beyond pleased to be able to write in such a way that touches your heart so much. I love you too and thank you for the cookie hearts! Thanks for requesting our dear sensei, he really doesnāt get enough love so Iām glad to provide it!
Ittetsu Takeda – Prompt #58 ā āIāve been in love with you my
entire life. Ever since the day I first met you.ā
āTakeda-san? Itās so
nice to meet you, Iām ____ , ______.ā Heād never met someone so immediately
friendly and welcoming.
āTakeda-san! Letās
play house! You be the dad and Iāll be the mom!ā Ittetsu blushed furiously but
couldnāt deny you anything so agreed to the embarrassing game despite the rest
of the neighborhood boys teasing him.
āLetās sit next to
each other on the bus, Takeda-san. I always feel better when youāre close by.ā
Words spoken so innocently yet they filled the bespectacled boyās heart with
pride. Now if only he felt brave enough to tell you how he felt. But, he
reasoned, I have three years, surely before thenā¦
āCan you believe it,
Takeda-san? I got into my dream school! Iām going to America!ā Your news
shattered his heart that day but he smiled as brightly as possible, allowing
himself a little bit longer hug to ācelebrateā. Now he couldnāt tell you how he felt.
Ittetsuās hands shook
reading the invitation. A part of him heād rather not focus on was glad heād
have to decline; he just couldnāt afford the time or money to go to America for
your wedding. But he made sure to buy one of the more expensive items on your registry,
reasoning he was making up for all the birthdays and holidays he missed sending
you anything.
The day of your
wedding, Takeda-sensei is throwing himself more into work and trying to help at
practice with the boys more to distract himself. This was it, a lifetimeās
amount of love wasted because he was too chicken to ever tell you how he felt.
These memories come flooding back the moment Takeda lays
eyes on you. Heād no idea youād returned to Japan, much less that youād be working
at the same school as him. Stepping out of his haze, his hand reaches forward
of its own accord, his voice asking, ā_____-san?ā as he touches your shoulder.
Turning, your eyes go wide at the sight of your childhood
best friend. For a moment, youāre frozen but then forgetting where you are
spring into his arms, hugging him tightly. Your fellow teachers either scoff or
snicker at the very public display of affection between two people who they,
until a few seconds ago, presumed were strangers.
Stammering in shock and slight embarrassment, Takeda pulls
back to look at your face, forcing his hands to release your arms. āWhat are
you doing here?ā he asks bewildered.
āI came back!ā you say cheerfully, eyes shining.
Thereās not really time to get the whole story, not when
both of you have classes to teach but Takeda gets enough of his wits about him
to acquire your phone number, promising to call at the end of the work day so
you can make plans to catch up.
The day seems to crawl from that point on but eventually its
duties are done and Takeda is nervously dialing your number.
āHello?ā your soft
voice says.
āHello, _____-san, itās
Takeda. I wanted to see if youād still like to get together tonight?ā
Later that evening, Takeda arrives a little early, getting a
table for three near the back for privacy. Not too long after heās situated you
arrive, pulling behind you a tall, imposing looking man. How in the world did
you end up with someone soā¦serious?
Standing, Takeda bows his greeting, then extends his hand. āGood
evening, you must be Paul, Iām Takeda Ittetsu, itās very nice to finally meet
you,ā he offers. Paul shakes his hand firmly, murmuring a similar sentiment but
the Japanese teacher can tell heās just saying whatās expected of him. Which he
canāt exactly fault him for, since Takeda is doing the same thing.
As you settle into your seat, you and Takeda begin talking,
catching up on all the years of events and happenings since you last saw each
other. Youād tried to stay in contact after you left for America but both of
you had fallen short on your promise to stay best friends forever. However, as
he sits reminiscing with you and laughing, Takeda feels like no time has gone
by at all. Which is both great and awful, because he feels his long-buried
feelings for you bubbling to the surface.
Across the table, he can see out of the corner of his eye
Paul sitting back, arms crossed with a scowl on his face and wonders again how
someone as bright and loving as you could be tied to someone so obviously
negative.
To your credit, youāre trying to draw him into the
conversation but Paul isnāt making it easy, offering one word answers or grunts
in response to your questions or requests for opinions. Takeda works hard not
to frown at the man but itās getting increasingly difficult. He keeps his focus
on you, your eyes, your face, the lovely lilt of your laughter, all of it
pushing his heart more into a blender.
Suddenly, in the middle of his story about Hinata and
Kageyamaās fight, Paul leans his forearm on the table, other arm wrapping
around your waist as he says bluntly, āYou know, I finally figured you out. Youāre
in love with my wife, arenāt you?ā
Itās so unexpected that both you and Takeda sit staring with
wide eyes and slightly gapping mouths.
Youāre the first to recover, smacking Paulās arm, tone split
between incredulity and embarrassment, āWhat are you talking about Paul?
Takeda-san and I are just friends!ā Your emphasis on the word āfriendsā causes
Ittetsu to flinch, an action not missed by the hyper aware husband.
āHa, friends my ass, he wants you so much and youāre just
feeding him, the poor bastard,ā he goes on.
Now your tone is angry as you reply, āPaul, stop it! This is
not the time or the place or the person to be jealous of!ā
Your words make Takeda believe this isnāt the first time
Paul has accused someone of being interested in his wife but he oddly hopes itās
the first time heās been right.
Youāre going on but Paul cuts you off, āAre you really so
stupid as to not see when someone wants you? Or do you just not care and like to
lead them on and piss me off by playing dumb?ā
Clenching his firsts, Takeda stands up, slamming them on the
table. āThatās enough!ā he says firmly, drawing your gaze away from your
husband to his face. Paulās expression is smug satisfaction. Looking at you,
Takeda takes a shaky breath. āIām sorry, _____-san, but I wonāt say itās not
true. Iāve been lying to you for so long but I wonāt lie anymore. Iāve been in love with you my entire life.
Ever since the first day I met you.ā He glances back at Paul, eyes
hardening, āYou donāt deserve her and how she ended up with someone so arrogant
and selfish Iāll never know.ā
Throwing down some money, he steps away from the table.
Bowing low to you he says, āMy apologies, ______-san, but Iāll be going now. It
was lovely to see you again.ā
Walking purposefully, other patronsā eyes following him,
Takeda makes it outside before his entire body starts shaking. How could he do
that? Itās obvious Paul has jealousy issues and now any problems in your marriage
resulting from them are just going to get worse because the two of you work
together and-
āTakeda-san?ā
Ittetsu whirls around at the sound of your voice, eyes
widening at your face drenched in tears. He doesnāt hesitate, surging forward
and gathering you in his arms. āIām so sorry,ā he whispers in your hair.
āDonāt be,ā you hiccup, pulling back to look at him. āThings
have been going downhill with Paul for a while now. Heā¦he cheated on me and
even though weāve been going to counseling he keeps waiting for me to retaliate
by cheating on him. So any man who shows even the remotest interest in me,
whether Iām aware of it or not, he harps on. I had hoped coming to Japan would
help, you know, like a fresh start?ā
You shake your head, more tears falling which Takeda thumbs
away. When had he moved his hands to your face? But you donāt seem to mind, leaning
into his touch. āTonight was just the last straw. Heā¦heās going back to America
to file for the divorce.ā
āOh, ______-san, Iām so sorry,ā Takeda says and he means it.
He may not like Paul but he can see this is hurting you badly.
āItā¦it wasnāt all bad, you know?ā you choke out, fresh tears
pouring down. āWeā¦we were really happy for a while. But I wasnāt enoughā¦I tried
so hardā¦but Iām not enough.ā
Takeda leans down, pressing his lips to your forehead before
murmuring against your skin, āYou are more
than enough, youāre perfect.ā
Sighing, you wrap your arms around his waist, face nuzzling
into his chest. Takeda almost stops breathing at the action but pulls you
closer. You stay like that for a few moments before drawing back, arms still
gripping one anotherās.
āTakeda-san, Iā¦I donāt know ifā¦if youāre willing to wait
but-ā
His finger covers your lips, eyes focused on yours. Smiling
he says, āIāve already waited my whole life, a little bit longer is nothing.ā
