Kuroko no Basuke // Father’s Day Special

L O L here i am posting this one day after Father’s day. i just didn’t realize how many freakign characters there are in knb, and this isn’t even all of them !! anyway, i hope you enjoy 🙂 for the characters i don’t know that well, they’re kind of short but i t r i e d :3

– Pocky

under the cut for length 🙂

Kaijo

  • Hayakawa does not know how to translate his  explosive enthusiasm for his kids into a calm and fatherly affection. His kids are sometimes nervous around him because he can get so intense, but it pays off when they want to play with him.
  • Kasamatsu wants his kids to think of him as both a friend and a father, and tries to spend as much time as possible with them. if he has a boy, he teaches him how to play basketball and how to respect (women) and act as a young man should;  if he has a girl, he treats her like an absolute princess and makes sure she’ll never feel neglected.
  • Kise a very doting father. He’s constantly asking his kids if they have everything they want, material-wise, and buys them everything they want. But he’s lacking in presence, his job needing him at all places around the world, and he rarely ever spends time with his kids. But when he does, his kids love it. He lets them dress him up and put makeup on him, he lets them climb all over him, sometimes even play fight with them, but he truly does love the time he spends with his kids.
  • Kobori is a gentle and caring dad who likes to take his kids hiking and do other stuff outdoors. He has experience with caring for children because he has a younger brother, who was super young when he was in middle school, so he feels as though he’s a fine dad.
  • Moriyama is a pretty textbook dad. The one thing he does to try and keep a special bond with his kids is to cook his kids’ breakfast every morning and sit down with them to eat and talk about what they were going to do that day.

Kirisaki Daiichi

  • Furuhashi is self conscious that he’s a boring dad because he doesn’t really do much and he’s too nervous to talk to his kid. However, one day when he was out tending to his garden, his kid wandered out and showed interest in learning how to garden, which started the bond between Furuhashi and his kid.
  • Hanamiya is a surprisingly good dad. No matter if it’s a boy or girl, he’s always looking out for them and injecting little life lessons into everyday events. He makes sure to be present, unlike his father, and he hopes they won’t turn out like him. But the moment he sees that they have a sharp mind, he knows he’s in for trouble.
  • Hara did not think he would be the one to coo over a baby, but he is the one who does that every time he sees his child. He thinks they are absolutely adorable and they are the world to him. Especially if it’s a girl, he is soooo protective of her—it’s insane but endearing. His kids constantly pop the bubbles he blows with his gum, often covering Hara’s hair and face in a sticky mess. Sometimes he gives his kids gum, but the other parent always scolds him for it.
  • Seto teaches his kids to be lazy from an early age. On any standard afternoon, Seto can be found reclining in the living with his kids right beside him, eyes blankly trained on the TV. Other than that, Seto is a pretty good dad when it comes to teaching his kids good jokes and comebacks. He’s gonna make sure they’ve got sharp wits.
  • Yamazaki is the kind of dad his kids can talk to about anything because he’s so open and honest with them. He’s really dependable.

Rakuzan

  • Akashi spoils his kids rotten. They have anything and everything they could ever dream of, and then some. But he also makes sure to spoil them with his love and affection and presence, making sure they never feel neglected. He’s kind of a dork of a dad, wanting his kids to feel comfortable and casual around him, so he tells a lot of “dad jokes” and does a lot of silly things around them. It’s super cute.
  • Hayama is an exhausting dad. He goes out on adventures with his kids almost daily, making sure they have the best time of their lives and teach them to live their lives to the fullest at such a young age. His kids love him though, and they especially love his seemingly bottomless energy for when they do want to play at 2am.
  • Mayuzumi is a quiet dad, but so are his kids, so they get along really well. Mayu loves to read with his kids, no matter if it’s a bed time story, a small tutoring session, or just casual reading. He loves to spend that silent quality time with them because he believes that growing in their wisdom together is the best way to bond.
  • Mibuchi is his kid’s best friend. Mibuchi makes it known right away that he is always there for them and that he will do whatever it takes to protect them and make them happy. He is both the mom and the dad, and his kid loves his cooking, often making the other parent quite jealous. If he has a daughter, she has a cute little crush on her dad and always says she wants to marry him when she grows up. Mibuchi thinks it’s freaking adorable because she just doesn’t know any better.
  • Nebuya wants literally a million kids, so he’s not disappointed when he has triplets. He loves them all equally and makes it a point to make sure none of them feel left out. He keeps them active by often going outside and playing basketball or any other sport they suggest, and always encourages them to eat their fill (or even more). Group hugs are a must. The house is never quiet. His kids hang on his arms and his neck and his legs because they like to be carried all around, and they know their dad is strong enough to do that all day if he must. The boys want to grow up to be just like him.

Seirin

  • Hyuuga is a strict dad. His kids don’t mess around with him. They know he means business. Be in bed by bed time, eat all their vegetables, kiss their mama and papa goodnight every night–they know the rules. But he’s never mean or unapproachable to them. He’s very much like the captain of his family, everyone respects him but loves him. It’s a good balance.
  • Izuki is such a goofy dad. He became the biggest clown when his baby was born because he loves when to make his children laugh. It makes his heart explode from love and joy. His kids ask him to tell them jokes 24/7. Instead of bedtime stories, it’s bedtime jokes. They all take turns telling good jokes, and the kids would be so excited to bring home a joke they heard from school. Making their dad laugh makes them feel so proud. DAD JOKES 24/7
  • Kagami is the scary dad, but not to his kids. He’s so protective of his kids that their friends, and sometimes other parents, wonder if his kids are being held against their will. But the kids don’t see their papa as scary, they love him to death. And the only thing they love more than him is his cooking, which they beg for every night–and Kagami ends up cooking for their 6/7 nights a week even when he’s exhausted. He’s such a good dad. Someone wife him.
  • Kiyoshi is a dad ?? No. He’s a literal grandpa. Always giving his kids candies, always letting them sit on his lap, always reading books to them, and always giving them presents. These kids live a good life, and they never ever want to upset their dad because he’s just so kind and understanding. It would break their hearts to ever get scolded by Kiysohi, which happened once, and Kiyoshi cried all night.
  • Kuroko is the best dad. First off, when his baby first came into the world, no one could separate him from them. He would sleep right beside the baby’s crib when they were brought home, cradle the baby when he’s not sleeping, and he would most definitely buy that baby sling and always carry the baby around with him when he’s doing errands/chores. He adores his children and they grow up to respect him and love him just as much.

Shuutoku

  • Kimura is the helpful dad. He always helps out around the house and offers to take care of his kids all the time. Growing up, his kids never have to worry when their dad is around, and they love his calm nature.
  • Midorima is the strict and professional dad. Or, at least he tries to be. He started out being strict, always telling his kids no to staying up late, having extra dessert, or playing too many video games. But his secret weakness is the unconditional love he has for his kids, so when they look up at him with those puppy dog eyes, he knows he’s lost. Midorima really really wants to learn to cook for his kids, and they act as his little judges whenever he does make them something. Sometimes his feelings get hurt. He gives them their lucky item every day before they go off to school, but when they were babies, he’d carry their lucky items around with him and never leave their side. He gave his first born his little frog plushie. CUTE AF.
  • Miyaji needs an award for effort. He’s got a super short temper and it’s often tough to not yell or scold his kids, but he can usually get a grip and calm himself down. His kids aren’t usually scared of him, but they know they shouldn’t provoke him, so that in itself makes them behave somewhat. Other than that, they love joking around with Miyaji because he can be so silly sometimes.
  • Otsubo tries to be a strict dad, but it doesn’t come off very well because his kids don’t take him seriously. They always laugh at him, climb on him, ask him to play, etc, because he’s got such a friendly nature. Otsubo decides that he’d rather be the fun dad that his kids love to spend time with.
  • Takao iS SUCH AN ENTHUISASTIC DAD. He’s so encouraging in any of the activities his kids want to do. They want to do tennis ? He goes and buys their first racket with them. They want to paint ? Guess what Takao is out buying the second he hears the wish come out of their mouth. He has a close bond with his kids because he also shares the same child-like wonder and playfulness that his kids have and he treats every day like a new adventure. He taught his kids how to play leapfrog and now they do it all the time and it exhausts Takao. His kids are best friend’s with Midorima’s kids and they call him Uncle Shin-chan.

Touou

  • Aomine is literally not even a dad. He’s the cool older brother, unless his kids do something that the other parent wags a finger at, then he has to become the dad. But most of the time, he’s the one encouraging their rebellious behavior because he believes childhood is such an important part of discovering passions. He pushes his kids to being basketball players, but he wouldn’t mind if they fell in love with something else. He lets them ride on his shoulders alot, and one can always see a huge smile on his face when he’s with them. If he has a daughter, she is not allowed to date until she’s 40.
  • Imayoshi is the kind of dad who encourages his kids to try all sorts of things. He wants them to grow up well-rounded in their education, sports, and extra-curricular, so they are often busy. But Imayoshi also knows the importance of quality time, so when they’re all not busy, Imayoshi will take them on a little fishing trip that always turns out to be a fun time.
  • Sakurai is a very scared dad. He doesn’t want to assume his fartherly duties because he doesn’t want his kids to hate him if he has to discipline them. But he learns to bond with them through activities such as drawing and painting. His kids grow to love art, just like he does and he is so relieved.
  • Wakamatsu is such a good dad. He’s gentle when his kids need disciplining, a good listener when they’re upset, and a fun dude when they want to play. He taught his kids how to ride a bike and for that they trust him more than anything because they know he’ll always be there for them if they fall.

Yosen

  • Fukui is the super super fun dad. He’s always coming up with cool and new ways for him and his kids to do stuff. He loves to take them outside, especially in the winter, so he can teach them to snowboard, which he loves to do.
  • Himuro is the dad that all the other dads aspire to be. His kids ADORE him. He’s cool, calm, collected, but a fun guy who loves to spend time with his kids. He mainly likes teaching them things that are “useful”, like how to properly roast a marshmallow, how to build a sturdy pillow fort, etc. He actually has taught them useful things, though–he taught them how to tie their shoes, how to tie a tie, and how to get on their other parent’s good side.
  • Okamura IS THE MOST EXCITED DAD. HE’S ECSTATIC THAT HE HAS A KID OF HIS OWN AND HES GOING TO DROWN THEM IN LOVE AND AFFECTION AND FATHERLY OBSESSION. He’s so happy that the kid has his sturdiness because that means he can teach him to play basketball and he’s just so excited. Someone help him. LOTS OF PIGGY BACK RIDES.
  • Murasakibara is the kind of dad that gangs up on the other parent with his kids. Basically, he’s not really a dad unless his kid(s) comes to him with a problem, or they need advice, or any sort of parenting. He enjoys fatherly duties more than he thought, though, because he’s never felt that kind of responsibility before. This little life depends on him for survival, and he’ll try his best. Even if it’s not much. His kids love his hair. They pull it all the time.
  • Wei is such a conFUSED DAD. Poor THING. but he tries his best. he wants his kids to like him so much so that he seems clingy because he’s always around and lurking, just in case they need anything or need him. He is so pure, and the other parent needs to constantly reassure him that their kids don’t hate them. Sometimes he’ll pick his kids up so he can talk to them face to face without having to bend down or have them look straight up.

Other

  • Haizaki does not know what a kid is, neither did he ever want one, but here he was…a father. It may seem like he’s not trying, but he really does try to at least spend some time with…it. Mainly by playing sports or going out to eat. But that’s basically eat. The kid grows up thinking Haizaki is their older brother.
  • Nijimura is the ultimate dad. He’s responsible, he’s sort of strict but also fun, he’s amazing at giving advice, and he’s always there for his kids when they need him. Honestly, the kids could have never imagined having a greater dad. He bakes every weekend for his kids and they absolutely adore the mochi he makes them. Seeing their faces light up every time he’s making treats for them warms Nijimura’s heart and sometimes he thinks he might explode.

Father’s Day love for the KNB boys!!

Thank you!

Guys I’m so friggin happy and appreciative of all the likes and reblogs of my father’s day headcanons! Like, I’ve been gone for so long (at least in terms of new content) so to post something and have so many of you support it is very encouraging.

Thank you all for your patience, I wish I could write things faster but my abilities are stilted right now.

And I’m “working” on a multi-chapter OiYachi fic that I really want to be great and so am taking my time (and that of some fellow writers so gracious as to give me feedback as I go) to get it right so that also is taking time and energy.

I guess this is really just a simple thank you for still being here and still showing you enjoy what I’m putting out.

Hugs and kisses!

Haikyuu Father’s Day Headcanons

I woke up feeling domestic today so in honor of Father’s Day I put together some random headcanons for some of the Haikyuu boys. I hope you enjoy them and happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!

Karasuno

Daichi has been teased for being the “dad’ of his group for years so it’s no surprise he takes to fatherhood officially like a fish to water. He is the king of shoulder rides and tickle fights.

Sugawara is the best at bedtime stories, often coming up with “multi-chapter” renditions he continues one night after the other. It’s his ploy to get the kids to bed. “Well, if you want to know what happens to Marxa and Meddy, listen to your mother and get ready for bed.” Works. Every. Time.

Asahi cried when his daughter – the first born – came into the world. He couldn’t help it, she was just so tiny and perfect and a piece of you and him that he was overwhelmed. He was a bit afraid to hold her at first but once that sweet bundle was nestled in his arms it was over for him; he didn’t know he could love two people with an equal level of devotion in such different ways.

Tanaka loves all that being a dad entails. He’s there for his kids first bike ride, roller skate fall, getting stuck in a tree and needing daddy to save them. He chases away monsters from under the bed or in the closet and is always the first to kiss a boo boo and make it feel better. He’s their hero.

Nishinoya’s energy is able to keep up with his brood – four kids – rather well. He loves “tagfest” the most, running through the park as his kids squeal with glee and “daddy, catch me” sounding over the fields.

Ennoshita documents every little bit of his children’s lives that he can, for posterity (and a little practice). But he makes sure to set the camera down and actually be in the moment with them, frequently caught off guard when he’s editing later to find his wife sneakily grabbed the camera and got some scenes with him as the main star.

Kinoshita is the best breakfast maker and loves doing it with his kids. They make a mess of the kitchen but the end results are usually delicious. They horse around a bit during the cleaning and it’s a bit loud but the job gets done.

Narita enjoys reading with his kids. They’ll pile on his lap either in bed or on the couch and he’ll pop open the book of the day, reading aloud and doing voices and sound effects much to his children’s delight.

Kageyama wasn’t sure at first if he wanted children, afraid he wouldn’t be suited for the roll of “dad”. But once he does have them he does well. Unsurprisingly, when they’re old enough, he’s the first to encourage them to try out volleyball but if they don’t want to, he doesn’t love them any less. He just tries to understand whatever they are in to.

Hinata is another energy filled dad, able to play for hours with his kids without seeming to break a sweat. He’s frequently seen with his “little crows” at official matches, swelling with pride whenever he hears squeals of encouragement whenever he scores.

Tsukishima tried to be firm in regards to keeping his kid out of his and his wife’s bedroom; that is their sanctuary. But when his little girl came crying during a loud and violent storm, he simply lifted her up, kissed her cheek, laid her between himself and her mother and snuggled away her fears.

Yamaguchi frequently plans playdates for his kids and those of his former teammates, usually on Sunday mornings or afternoons when most of – if not all – of them are available to get together. Occasionally they’ll go to an amusement park or zoo or some place similar but most of the time the dates consist of the dads chatting over simple sandwiches while their children run about a park and play together.

Ukai wasn’t sure he wanted kids since taking care of his “little rascals” was already so exhausting but eventually he decides he does want to and when he does he’s never lacking for willing babysitters, all of “his boys” from that first year of him coaching offering their help to raise his twin boys.

Aobajosai

Oikawa loves taking his two little twin girls shopping. Buying them cute, matching outfits just makes his day. They have way too many, but that doesn’t stop him from doing it. When they get older, they’re more resistant to it but will make sure to go at least once a year – on Father’s Day – and let their dad pick something for them.

Iwaizumi enjoys cooking and his Father’s Day tradition with his kids is finding a traditional dish – either from their country or another – and trying it out together. Whether it comes out right or they like it or not, it’s the experience of cooking together that they love. And if it doesn’t come out right, they just order take out.

Matsukawa frequently tortures his children when they are older with typical dad jokes, especially around their significant others when they start dating.

Hanamaki likes to do family outings / experiences with his kids on Father’s Day rather than have them buy him stuff he doesn’t really need. One year, when they were in middle school, he planned a volunteer day at a local shelter. At the end of the day he said, “Now that you have some of an idea of what it takes to take care of a dog, do you still want one?” When they all agree they did he told them to work together to pick one to take home.

Yahaba spends time with his kids doing art projects. They want to color? He’ll color with them. Paint? It’ll be outside with drop cloth and smocks but sure, why not? Sidewalk chalk and hopscotch? He’s there. Watching his kids be creative is one of his greatest joys.

Watari’s kids love to snuggle with him. They’ll crawl in his lap to watch a movie or beg him to lay with them during nap time when he’s home.

Kindaichi is rather competitive so he has to watch himself whenever he plays games with his kids not to get too into it. He won’t just let them win, though. They have to learn the agony of defeat, even in Mario Kart.

Kunimi – because of his dislike for loud, energetic beings – struggled through his kids toddler and young childhood years. He was there for them but it was a tough go. He does exceptionally well during the latter school years frequently being a source of help for them during homework time.

Kyotani is – unsurprisingly – fiercely protective of his kids. He can be a bit harsh with them but his attitude has mellowed out and they know above all else that he loves them. God help the boy who tries to date his daughter.

Nekoma

Kuroo is also fond of the dad jokes or science puns and frequently uses them to diffuse arguments with his kids, either between each other or with him.

Kenma – shockingly – loves playing video games with his kids. His proudest moment was when his son asked for his own PSP for his birthday.

Yamamoto, when they are old enough, teaches his daughters self defense to protect themselves from the numerous boys he just knows will be after them. They roll their eyes but do as told, teasing him with tidbits uncle Kuroo and Yaku told them about his own high school days. This only encourages him to increase the training, must to their chagrin.

Kai is the party planner for his kids’ birthday parties, taking whatever theme they want that year to the extreme and creating a wonderful experience for their guests and themselves.

Yaku loves baking with his kids. He’s always finding new recipes to try and they laugh their way through techniques they don’t understand, learning as they go and eating the fruits of their labor. After clean up, they go for a run or bike ride together to “burn off the sugar” before crashing for a nap.

Inuoka does finger puppet shows for his kids. He lets them make the characters out of arts and craft supplies then uses a stage box he built himself to put on productions for them. Sometimes they write the stories together and sometimes he makes it up for them to simply enjoy.

Lev is a master of hide and seek and his kids frequently challenge him in it. When his youngest managed to hide for over an hour it prompted him to put trackers on them, linked to their mother’s cell phone so he can’t cheat.

Other Team Favorites

Bokuto gives the best “horsey” rides, willing to get down on all fours and properly run about and buck, his children squealing with joy as they ride. It usually ends with Bokuto collapsed on the grass and his kids piling on top of him in fits of giggles.

Akaashi is a master at getting his babies to sleep. He rocks them gently, trailing his fingers over their forehead and down their eyelids prompting them to close. When they’re asleep, he lays them in their crib and watches them sleep for a little, a soft smile on his face.

Aone is a human jungle gym for his kids. They love to climb all over him, hanging from his strong arms or neck. They also love to wrestle with him, frequently ganging up to try to take him down. Aone just smiles quietly through it all, enjoying the time playing with his kids.

Koganegawa is just as entertained as his children watching animated movies. On Saturday nights, they cuddle together on the couch with snacks and drinks, pulling out of a hat what movie they’re going to watch from their massive collection.

Ushijima struggled in the beginning of fatherhood due to the unpredictability of children; babies in particular. But once he got the hang of the basics, he began to enjoy the experience more. The first time his son cuddled up and fell asleep on his chest he was a lost man; fatherhood, he decided, was the best thing to ever happen to him.

Semi is the dad whose kids can talk to him about and tell him anything. He takes their opinions, thoughts, ideas, worries, fears, arguments all in stride, allowing them to have their say (respectfully, there is no reason to be rude and it just makes you look stupid). When they’re done, he offers his advice, opinion or answer depending on the nature of the discussion. They may not always like what he says but they respect him because he respects them.

Tendo was quite nervous to have children to be honest. Would they like him? Would they think he was scary? Then, his daughter was born and all his fears melted. He might have shed a few tears, but he’ll never admit it. He gets her into manga when she’s older and the two of them will spend hours fanboy/girling over their favorites.
