Soul Evans

Soul hadn’t necessarily been concerned about being assigned a new meister after Maka went to be with her mom for the school year. He saw it as more of a business partnership rather than a potential friendship. But he didn’t realize when his platonic feelings had turned into romantic feelings. He didn’t notice when he’d start hanging around you more often than necessary. He didn’t notice when he’d started to walk you home out of fear something might happen to you. And he didn’t notice when he started to feel his heart thump just a tid bit harder against his chest whenever he’d be in your presence or see you smile. However, Soul isn’t a complete and total idiot, so when he did notice, all the feelings hit him like a truck; and then the single, dreadful thought that bubbled up to the surface of his ocean of emotions: he was already in too deep. And this is when all Soul could do was tilt his head back, give himself a reprimanding slap on the forehead, and sigh…

Oh, shit. What have I gotten myself into?

Death the Kid

The only way that Kid would agree to pair up with you was if you agreed to always maintain equilibrium in your weapon form. You weren’t necessarily a dual-wielding capable weapon, like his former partners, Liz and Patty, but you consisted of a bow and an arrow with a beautiful midline. Kid had eventually gotten used to having arrows instead of bullets, but if he was being quite honest, he preferred the arrows. He could shoot as many as he wanted a time, all he had to do was think of a number and arrows would be loaded. He often practiced with you, even when the both of you had days off; he would never admit that he likes spending time with you or enjoys your company, he had a reputation to maintain. Even if he does stumble a bit when he sees you or slightly stammer when he talks to you…Shinigami can’t fall love…could they?

Father, sometimes it feels like my soul is being pulled toward y/n whenever we’re together…and my stomach does this…unsettling fluttering thing. Could this mean incompatibility? Could I be getting sick? *meanwhile Death is chuckling at his oblivious son’s massive crush*

Black Star

Black Star was certain that nobody could be better than him at anything. Even though Tsubaki had somewhat humbled him, her absence proved to be detrimental to Black Star’s new meekness and he returned to his old ways. When picking out a new partner after Tsubaki had left to be with her family, Black Star wouldn’t settle for anything less than the absolute best; he’d compare every prospect to Tsubaki (because, even though he would never admit it out loud, she was the best) and turn up his nose to anyone he deemed unfit. When you came along, he was left with little room for complaint, seeing as you were a multi-form weapon, just like Tsubaki, and you were sweet and kind and tolerant of his childish behavior…just like Tsubaki. It didn’t take long for Black Star to warm up to you. He felt unusually comfortable around you and felt as though he could tell you his deepest darkest secrets in full confidence that you wouldn’t tell a soul. He’d never been this close to someone before, not even Tsubaki. He would sometimes doubt his obvious crush, but when approached by others about it, he becomes uncharacteristically flustered.

A crush? On y/n? Yeah, right. I wasn’t jealous that she was talking to Soul! I-I was just…I had been waiting on her for so long, I j-just wanted to get going! Gods don’t wait around for anyone, you know!

Dr. Stein

Let’s be clear on one thing: Stein did not want a partner. He didn’t even need a partner. So when Death basically forced him to pair up with you, he was not a happy camper. Even though he opened his home to you and let you live with him, he wasn’t very nice about it. But there were some nights when he was glad that you were there, glad that he could have a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen and a soul to connect to when he needed to feel something. But by the next morning, he’d act as though nothing had happened. He’d act as though you hadn’t saved his mind from tearing apart for the umpteenth time. The other teachers, though, had noticed something different about Stein since you had moved in. He seemed almost…happier, which was uncommon for the gloomy and grey DWMA professor.

I don’t think of Ms. y/n in that way. I’d say she’s a rather infuriating woman, and our resonance link could be stronger–we’d never get along like that.

(and they’d almost believe him, if they hadn’t caught a glimpse of a ghost of a smile playing on his lips as he thought of her while walking away)
