Imaizumi’s character development is one of the best things about the series tbh. His relationship with Naruko is also my favorite (hardcore ship them, but that’s just me haha), just how they grow to accept each other as rivals and yet will help each other out, even if they’re super childish about it. And I’ve seen “Spare Bike”, I think it was, about how Maki and Toudou got into biking? (It’s been a while since I’ve watched it, tbh…)

Oh you’re right, helps if I get the name right lol.

I also love Naruko and his friendship, it’s so funny.

I don’t ship them, I don’t ship any characters together but that’s just my opinion lol.

The anime really surprised me with how it grabbed my heart right away, but it’s one of my favorites now!

Maki and Onoda’s friendship is one of the cutest things ever, I swear. I love Maki too, he was my favorite before Kaburagi came into the picture. But Kaburagi’s just such a little brat, I love him! I read the manga, and honestly at first I just thought he was super arrogant but there is so much more to his character and ugh I wanna hug him. And all of HakoGaku is just a disaster, like how can you not love that whole team?! (Especially with the OVAs after the ending song, they’re always so great)

I’ll put a read more here because my next sentences may have too many spoilers

I haven’t read the manga but I agree that at first he seems super arrogant but it’s cute how much he admires Onoda. Oh my goodness, the welcoming race in New Generation just tore me to pieces! How many more members they had trying out, how everyone was in awe of Onoda and he has NO IDEA how to be and the end is just heartbreaking.

Also, I LOVE Imaizumi’s development from start to where it is now. Like, he starts out SO SELFISH and single minded only become actually a really good teammate, friend and eventual senpai.

YES, I love HakoGaku! I did not like Arakita at all at the beginning (at least during his flashbacks because he’s so annoying) but now he’s one of my favorites, especially after he saves Onoda and Manami from the pack (which that whole idea was hilarious!)

Yes, the OVAs after the credits are priceless, I laugh so hard at all of them and watched the summary movies just to see more of them.

Did you happen to watch the OVA “Spare Bike”? It’s so amazing!

I like the Soft Boi™ characters like Makoto from Free! and of course Asahi and Yuri from YOI, especially when they’ve got a similar personality trait like I do that isn’t the best thing and they overcome it or at least learn to get better at it. I guess it’s almost kind of like a silly “okay, if they can do it, I can too!” type of deal. Which is super dumb now that I think about it…

It’s not dumb at all! That’s the beauty of imagination and admiring those we find common ground with! I feel a kinship with the older sibling types because I too protect and look out for my friends and want to do my best for them. So characters like Daichi and Kiyoshi are ones I really connect with!

Let’s scream about anime!

Hey all, I know I just did a post but I wanted to re-iterate separately that I LOVE hearing from you all even if it’s just to chat, so please, send me your favorite animes, characters, why you love them, or anything else you want to chat about.

I’d love to get to know you guys (even through anon). You’re all important to me and hearing from you is great!!

Who is your favorite from Yowamushi Pedal?!?! (I love that anime so much and the fandom can be a little hard to find, so I’m glad you said that you like it too. Kaburagi’s my personal favorite.)

I’m surprised it’s hard to find because the anime is SO GOOD and they’ve been out fairly recently.

Anyway, to answer your question, oh my gosh that is a hard one! I love so many for so many reasons (which is the bane of most of sports animes honestly).

But I have to say my favorite is Makishima. I just adore him. He’s cool but awkward at the same time and his hair is amazing lol.

I especially love how he comes a bit more out of his shell to Onoda (another favorite, honestly their friendship makes my heart warm).

I forgot to mention, I haven’t finished the current season of New Generation because I want to wait until the new season is released next year. I get so spoiled being able to binge watch full seasons but I’m super excited that they’ll be continuing.

Why is Kaburagi your fave? And thanks for reaching out!

Heyhey! (^-^)/ My last days were really terrible (T,T), so, can I have some “cute” little scenario, where Ushijima, Aone (my two big fluffy bears), Asahi and Kuroo just changin’ their clothes, and their teammates see the scratches on the boys’ back? (From their gf, of course. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) Their reactions?

hq-cuties-pls:

This request was super fun to write, and honestly a great study in team dynamics! Apologies if I (Admin Alyx) ruined Dateko, because I don’t write them very much!

-Admins Alyx and Emma

Ushijima:

“Jesus, Wakatoshi, what happened to you?”

Ushijima raised his eyebrows askance at Tendou, crumpling his practice shirt in his hands; “Nothing. It was a good practice and I am in good health.”

“No, you doof, your back!” Tendou exclaimed. “You look like you got in a fight with a drunken tiger and lost!”

“Yikes,” Yamagata hissed, wincing visibly when he caught a glance. “Looks like it hurt.”

Ushijima looked over his shoulder, catching the reflection of his back in the mirror. It was a nightmare–long, red scratches ran from the tops of his shoulders all the way to the taper of his waist, interspersed with the occasional bite mark. He felt the tops of his cheeks warm a bit at the memory of the previous night–the way you clung to him, the way you writhed under him, the delicious point of pain when you ran your nails down his back…

“Ah,” he grunted. “____ should probably trim her nails next time.”

“Next time?” Tendou tilted his head before narrowing his eyes in that weird, almost cat-like smirk of his. “Wakatoshi-kun, are you and ____… having some fun?”

“Satori! That’s rude!” Reon chastised. “It’s none of our business.”

“It’s a friendly question,” Tendou protested.

“It’s rude,” Semi said flatly, slipping into his post-practice shirt. “So long as you’re being safe, Wakatoshi. Are you?”

“Of course,” Ushijima responded.

“Ha! So you admit it!” Tendou exclaimed, thrusting his finger out in an exaggeratedly accusatory gesture.

Ushijima blinked a few times, quirking one of his eyebrows; “Admit… that ____ and I are having sex? I suppose so, but I figured the scratches spoke for themselves.”

Aone:

A loud wolf whistle echoed through the locker room.

The cause was obvious–Aone’s broad, pale back was absolutely covered in scratch marks, bright red standing out starkly against his skin.

“Man, get it, Aone!” Futakuchi said.

Kamasaki, who had joined them for practice that day, took a swing at Futakuchi, who ducked quickly.

“Not in front of the first years, you asshole! But… nice, Aone!” Kamasaki said, giving a thumbs up. Futakuchi cackled, clapping Aone on the back.

Aone, who had been silently watching the scene unfold, simply gave a knowing smile as he pulled his shirt on over his head.

“Doesn’t that hurt, Aone-san?” Koganegawa asked, prompting Futakuchi to dissolve into raucous laughter again.

“Yes, but–”

“WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT NOT IN FRONT OF THE FIRST YEARS!” Kamasaki shouted. “Aone! I trusted you!”

“It’s always the quiet ones, my man,” Futakuchi said.

Asahi:

“Yeah, get it, Asahi-san!”

Asahi froze when he heard Nishinoya shouting at him. He’d sort of… forgotten the number you’d done on his back the last time you were together. At the time, he’d loved it. At the time, it’d been a sign of your pleasure, and he’d loved rolling into your soft body like that while you dug into his shoulders and back, biting down on the muscle between his neck and shoulders. Unfortunately, there had been some very visible consequences. They hadn’t been such an issue until he forgot he had to get undressed in front of other people.

“You’re so crude, Noya,” Daichi chastised.

“You’d have said the same thing, Daichi, and you know it,” Suga teased. “Although… yeesh, it looks painful.”

“Bet it was worth it, eh, Asahi-san?” Noya pressed, nudging Asahi in the ribs. Asahi buried his face in his t-shirt, trying to suppress the groan he desperately wanted to let out. Of course this was how today was going to go. Because this was his life.

“What was worth it?” Kageyama asked, emerging from wherever he’d been hiding. Judging by the utterly blank expression on his face, he had no clue what anyone was talking about.

“Please, can I tell him?” Tsukishima asked with a laugh. “Please? You won’t have to get me Christmas presents for the rest of my life.”

“You’re all terrible influences, you know that?” Asahi exclaimed, yanking on his practice shirt with an indignant huff, although he did hiss when the fabric scraped over the scratches.

“You started this,” Daichi countered with a smirk. “Coming in here with your hickies and your sex-scratches… living up to your delinquent reputation, hm?”

Asahi quirked his eyebrows; “Only with ____, and only when she asks nicely.”

He was mortified, but seeing Daichi utterly lose any semblance of composure was totally worth it.

Kuroo:

“I didn’t need to see that,” Kenma said flatly, looking up from his DS with his nose scrunched in distaste.

“See what?” Kuroo asked, though the way he immediately spun around to hide his thoroughly ravaged back from view implied he wasn’t completely clueless.

“Your back is covered in scratches, Captain!” Fukunaga said straight-faced, one index finger raised. His wide eyes created the guise of innocence, but the way the corners of his mouth turned up said otherwise.

Kuroo’s face flushed bright red like someone had cranked up a dial. “Wha–I, uh, that’s weird, I have no idea–”

Mmrrrooooooowww,” Fukunaga interrupted in an uncanny imitation of a cat, lifting both his hands to mime scratching something.

The room erupted in roars of laughter. Yamamoto appeared to be crying from laughing so hard, while Yaku was snickering into his hand.

“Ooohhh, did your cat scratch you? Make sure you disinfect that!” Lev said.

The laughter only got worse after that, while Lev looked utterly confused. Kuroo yanked his shirt on to hide the incriminating evidence.

“You’re all terrible,” Kuroo said.

“You fit right in, then,” said Kenma. “Seriously, I did not need that image in my head, Kuro.”

“It’s not my fault, _____ just–”

“Nope! Not listening!”

Kenma quickly plugged his earbuds in, effectively checking out of the conversation.

“Okay but I was serious, though,” Lev said, remaining blissfully oblivious, “I had a cat scratch get super infected once! You should put some ointment on it, Captain!”

Kuroo turned around and slammed his head against the locker while Kai put a hand on Lev’s shoulder and said something to him in low tones. Lev’s eyebrows slowly lifted closer and closer to his hairline.

“Oooooohh!”

I am smiling SO WIDE right now! Asahi’s is my favorite!!

It’s Lana! I came up with one request so far, it’s fairly simple. Could I see either headcanons or an imagine of Tsukishima and Kageyama falling in love with their demigod! s/o? (Might be back later ;))

I approached these from the position that the boys don’t
know the girls are demi-gods. Once again, seeded by Admin Red, thank you!

Tsukishima and daughter of Minerva (Roman goddess of wisdom
and strategic warfare, and the sponsor of arts, trade, and strategy)

From the moment they first meet, Tsukishima is on his guard.
She’s way too informed about their opponents for him not to be. Sure, there’s
such a thing as scouting but she takes it to a whole new level. It isn’t that
he or the other crows don’t appreciate it but he can’t help but be skeptical as
to how she acquires her information. And it’s not as though he thinks himself a
saint or anything but aren’t there limits to what a person will do to gain
the upper hand? Especially in regard to something as simple as a club?

“Just how do you know all this stuff?” he asks her one day
after practice. He’s waited until everyone else has left, hoping she’ll tell
him the truth if it’s just the two of them.

“Women’s intuition,” she chirps, continuing to pick up the
volleyballs surrounding them.

He pulls the one from her hand, grabbing her wrist and
making her look at him. “And my intuition is screaming, bullshit.”

“Why do you care?” she snaps, wrenching away from his hold.
The question catches him off guard. Why does he care? Shouldn’t he just be
happy to have the information, no matter the method of its obtainment? But the
dark considerations he’s had fliting about in his brain won’t allow him to be
satisfied and it’s in this moment he realizes he cares not because of morality,
but because of jealousy.

She startles him with her next words, seemingly able to read
his mind. “By the way, I’m insulted that you think so lowly of me Tsukishima-kun,
I’m not a whore.” Her tone is solid, not a trace of guilt or untruth to be
found. “I just happen to be exceptionally skilled in the art of strategic
warfare.”

“Warfare?” he questions, unable to keep incredulity out of
his tone. “We’re playing volleyball, not marching onto the battlefield!”

“Now that is some
mighty fine bullshit,” she spats whirling on her heel and getting right in his
face. “You boys are no different in your quest for victory than my mother’s
troops were! Thankfully you don’t kill each other, just the ball!” The fire in
her eyes lights something deep in the pit of Tsukishima’s stomach and before he
knows it, his arms are around her waist, hefting her into a strong embrace. Her
eyes are wide at his actions and he barely remembers to breathe. “Tsukishima-kun,
let me go,” she orders but her voice is soft.

He swallows once, releasing her but just as she turns to go
back to her task he can’t stop from grabbing her hand. “Don’t…don’t go,” he
mumbles, “I…I’m sorry.” She turns, gaze meeting his again, eyes full of
surprise. “There…there’s something different about you and I just…” he trails
off, irritated that she can make him as brainless as Kageyama.

“You what?” she asks quietly, taking a step towards him.

He touches her cheek, his own heating up as his lips form
the words, “I…I like you.”

“Funny way of showing it,” she chides but there’s a playful
glint in her eyes now. He frowns but his eyebrows turn upwards when she reaches
on tiptoes to kiss his cheek. “I like you too, you salty dumbass.”

Kageyama and daughter of Apollo (recognized as a god of
music, truth and prophecy, healing, the sun and light, plague, poetry, and more)
[Aged up to college age so it makes more sense for her to be in a medical
profession. Also, this ended up just being the meet cute rather than the actual
fall in love part]

His first encounter with her is less than preferred as he happens
to be bleeding profusely from his nose thanks to an errant serve from Hinata.
Kageyama has enough trouble dealing with girls as it is but to have one so
beautiful and kind fluttering about taking care of him is almost too much for
the nervous blueberry despite his transition into adulthood.

“Just sit tight, I’ll be back in a jiff,” she says sweetly,
hurrying from the room.

Kageyama sighs, tilting his head back to hopefully stem the
flow of crimson. When it finally seems to slow down, he resumes a neutral
position, eyes meeting the mirror and he winces at the sight he makes. His
shirt looks like a costume piece for a slash horror film. Grumbling about
killing Hinata, he stands, whipping the stained material over his head and
makes way to the sink.

From behind, he hears a gasp and the clatter of items hitting
the floor. Turning, his face flushes red all the way to his ears but his embarrassment
is momentarily forgotten when he sees that her
nose is bleeding now.

“Are these contagious?” he asks loudly, horrified to think
of the exposure his teammates had to him.

She blinks, confused by his question until a soft plunk against the tile floor draws her
eyes away from the smooth skin and defined muscular lines of the male before
her downward. Eyes widening in dismay, she covers her nose quickly, rushing out
of the room to gather new clean supplies since those she’s brought are now on
the floor.

Using her minimal healing powers, she quickly takes care of
her own issue before heading back to the exam room where she finds Kageyama
seated, still shirtless, on the table.

“Are you ok? Should I get another attendant? Do I need to be
quarantined?” he asks, voice rising in his panic of not knowing what’s wrong
with him.

She can’t help giggling which further confuses him but the
tension in his chest is released when she shakes her head in the negative. “No,
Kageyama-kun, there’s no need. I apologize for the mishap. Here, let me take a
look,” she goes on, gently examining his nose. He winces but otherwise stays
still. “You’re in luck, it’s not broken,” she confirms, “but there will be bruising,
and you’ll have to be extra careful with any strain.”

He sighs in relief, hand on the back of his head. “That’s good,
thanks…”

“_______,” she supplies with a smile. A couple quick
scribbles of writing provides him with a prescription for strong pain killers. “I
know you’re a volleyball junkie,” she teases, “so this stuff won’t put you to
sleep.”

“Thanks again,” he says and grabs his soiled shirt.

“You know, hydrogen peroxide may help get that stain out,
but it may be better just to trash the thing entirely,” she offers.

“Yeah,” he grumbles, shucking it into the trash bin.

“So,” she goes on, taking out another piece of paper and
handing it to him, “if you feel like getting a woman’s input, give me a call.”

Kageyama stutters, blush growing on his cheeks, but he
somehow manages to put one foot in front of the other to exit her exam room,
though his eyes remain on the number scrawled in hasty writing. Taking out his
phone, he enters it before typing out a text.

In the student clinic, the chime of her phone draws ________’s
attention, and the text upon it makes her smile.

Does tomorrow night
work? – Kageyama

Headcanons on Ukai finding out his girlfriend turns into a fairy at night who helps restore life to abandoned forests and heals people in the hospital?

vball-baes-bball-babes:

More thanks to @supern-a-vengers for the seeds on this one!

  • Ukai isn’t sure what wakes him up but when he finds his girlfriend
missing from his bed he isn’t concerned at first, she probably just went to the
bathroom or something. But as more time passes he grows concerned and goes to
    make sure she’s ok.
  • What he does not expect when he opens the door into the
hallway is to see her standing by an open window…glowing…with opaque wings
    sticking out of her back!
  • His voice is caught in his throat as she flutters those
sparkling appendages and leaps out of the window which he rushes to only to
find her soaring into the night sky.
  • He pinches himself hard, but when he realizes he’s not
dreaming he rushes to his bedroom to grab his shoes and jacket, though he’s not
sure if he’ll be able to see her by the time he gets outside. He’s also not
    sure why he’s following her.
  • Upon exit of his home, he sees a faint trail of what he would
have previously presumed was dust were it not glowing so brightly. Going for
broke, he rushes through the dark streets in pursuit.
  • When he reaches the edge of a forest, he gulps; it’s awfully
dark in there. But a momentary flash of light signals the direction to head and
    he charges forward.
  • As he comes upon a clearing, he sees she’s shrunk to the
size roughly of a humming bird, flitting from flower to flower, sprinkling
something over their petals. After a short glow, they seem to perk up. In fact,
the whole area seems brighter and more full of life.
  • She turns, a startled squeak escaping her lips and her eyes
are wide. How did she not notice him following her?
  • “Keishin,” she whispers, enlarging to her full human form,
though her wings are still present. “I…I…” she’s at a loss for words.
  • Swallowing his trepidation, mostly at the discovery that the
supernatural realm is a lot more real than he previously believed, he steps
fully into the center of the trees, arms open to her.
  • She rushes forward hugging him tightly and he keeps his
hands on her waist for fear of crushing her wings.
  • “I won’t ask the stupid question of why you didn’t tell me,”
he mumbles into her hair, “I just…wow, you’re so beautiful.” She pulls away to
look at him, tears hanging in her eyes. “I mean, I thought you were beautiful
before,” he flusters, cheeks red, “But this, you…you’re stunning.”
  • She sighs, leaning up to kiss him and he smiles against her
lips. “So this is why you took so long to stay the night with me,” he chides
softly, “you have a super secret, forest saving job.”
  • She giggles, tugging his hand towards the entrance of the
forest. “That’s not all I do,” she confesses. “I…I also heal minor illnesses
for people in the hospital. I can’t save the full fatal ones,” she goes on
sadly, “but I can help make sure those who have small diseases don’t get worse.”
  • He stares at her with wide eyes then pulls her into a more
fierce kiss. “I love you, I love your heart, I love everything about you,” he
admits and she blushes. He releases her, giving a confident smirk. “Get your
wings in gear, baby, I’ll be waiting for you at home when you’re done.”
  • She nods, kissing his cheek before soaring into the sky.
