Oh ho! Daiki’s gonna get jealous….
Clutching the flowers in his hand a bit tighter, he swallows his nerves. It was one thing to deal with Aomine and his piss poor attitude on the court, but now Wakamatsu is downright playing with fire.
He’s harbored a fierce crush on you ever since you started coming around more to Too’s practices and of course their games, always cheering loudly for them but focused more on their resident brat than anyone else.
But Aomine isn’t doing anything about it and so Wakamatsu decided he would!
So here he is, standing before the door of your house, sweltering in the suit he’d drug out from the back of his closet and realizing he probably should have had it dry cleaned. Oh well, too late now.
Extending his fist, he knocks rapidly then stands stock still to wait.
The door opens, your face betraying your surprise to see him of all people standing on your stoop.
Clearing his throat, Wakamatsu begins, “Hey, _____-chan, um, I’m sure this is kind of odd, but…would you, uh…that is…I was wondering if…”
He huffs, narrows his eyes and thrusts the flowers forward, finally managing to get out, “These are for you and I’d really love it if you’d consider going on a date with me. Tonight,” he clarifies quickly.
You look up at him with wide yes, fingers loosely taking the bouquet from his hands. After a moment you finally manage to find your voice, saying softly, “Wakamatsu-kun, I’m flattered but…it’s just that-”
“Look,” he says, tone a bit gruffer, “I know ok? I’m well aware of who you want but is he here?” He pauses, extending his arms and looking over both shoulders for dramatic effect. Shaking his head he goes on as his eyes land on yours once more. “No, he’s not, but I am. And all I’m asking for is a chance, one chance, one date, to change your mind.”
You take in a deep breath. One thing’s for sure, it took a lot of courage to do what he’s doing and say what he is. That should count for something, shouldn’t it?
Finally, you smile and nod. “Ok, Wakamatsu-kun, you’ve got yourself a deal.”
He snorts. “I’d rather have a date.”
Your giggle makes him smile finally. “Fair enough,” you concede and gesture for him to come in. “Just give me a few minutes, I’ll go get ready.”
