The problem with reading amazing fanfic…

…is it can give me a major inferiority complex. In as much as it can inspire, it can make me feel like anything write I afterwards is utter crap (or feels like I’m copying when I’m really not trying to).

I want to keep getting better and part of that is looking at what others are doing, noting WHY I like/love what they’ve written and seeing how to tweak my writing not necessarily to their style but to try something different.

I want so much to write longer, more involved stories again but I feel so stuck in the muck of my own making.

I don’t even know why I’m sharing this, all I know is what I’m experiencing isn’t necessarily writer’s block, it’s writer’s paralysis. I have ideas, good ones, but when I start to write, I feel frozen.

It’s is such a frustrating place to be.
