Iwaizumi blushes a bit under your eager gaze but he finally gets over his nerves enough to remember to smile. That and the elbow against his ribs from Oikawa snaps him out of his frozen stature. Smacking him on the back of the head, he nonetheless answers, “Of course, _____-chan, I’d love to.”
The two of you walk away from the whining setter, chatting amicably about how your years have been.
As the light fades and darkness settles, you both take hold of sparklers. Iwaizumi lights his first, blushing again as he draws near to you to light yours.
While they sparkle and pop he slowly reaches out and touches his fingers to yours. “Can…can I hold your hand?” he asks quietly.
When you nod, he smiles, interlocking his fingers with yours as you both turn your attention to the sky where blasts of color light up the night.
