Daichi smiles warmly at you, taking your hand. “I’m glad, too. Sorry so much of the day was taken up by the party, but I knew my mom wouldn’t let me get away without having one.”
“That’s ok,” you assure, “it was nice getting to spend time with everyone. Hinata and Kageyama are always so funny!”
Daichi feels his eyebrow twitch at the mention of the troublesome first years but he smiles nonetheless. “I’m glad.” Looking over the city lights he sighs. “I’d love to watch the sunrise with you, by the way. Let’s get some coffee from Ukai’s shop and find a good hill to sit on.”
So that’s what you do, settling at the top of hill with the perfect view to watch the sun crest over the horizon. As the light beings to cover you both, Daichi taps your shoulder. You turn, surprised when his face is right in front of yours and his lips press against yours.
Pulling back, the faintest blush on his cheeks, Daichi says, “Happy New Year, _____-chan.”
