This is gonna be a long one (I might have gone overboard with it), so strap in for the ride and maybe prepare your heart as well. This may or may not be based on real life experiences.

Well, I just realized after writing Iwaizumi’s part that I had read the request wrong. Sooo, I guess enjoy the kinda reverse request for his part even if it’s not exactly what you asked for.

Iwaizumi Hajime

  • From as far back as you can remember you, Iwaizumi, and
Oikawa had always been friends. From elementary, to middle school, and even
into high school, the three of you were always seen together apart from being
in class or the boys having volleyball practice.
  • You were very close to both males, however you did favor
Iwaizumi a bit more because of your crush on him. You had always admired the
dark haired male, but it wasn’t until your second year of high school when you
realized your admiration had transformed into a full blown crush.
  • Your crush didn’t affect your interactions with Iwaizumi too
much other than your heart beating faster whenever he smiled at you. And
luckily, or unluckily for you, it seemed he was completely oblivious to
anything out of the ordinary that you were doing.
  • However, Oikawa being the “Oh-so observant bastard” as you
liked to call him much to his dismay, noticed the shift in behavior. But boy
was he excited. He essentially made himself your personal cheerleader as you “go
seduce your beloved Iwa-chan!” You promptly whacked the brunet with your handy
textbook then hugged him right after. Having Oikawa supporting you through this
entire endeavor was probably the best help you could have ever asked for.
  • Since Valentine’s Day was just around the corner, Oikawa
suggested that you confess to Iwaizumi around that time to be romantic. You
laughed at the cheesiness of the idea, but after giving it a bit of thought you
decided that the cliché really wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
  • After much encouragement and some strong urging from a
certain annoying yet lovable brunet, you finally built up the courage to pour
out your feelings into a letter and brought it to school on Valentine’s Day
intending to finally tell Iwaizumi how you truly felt about him.
  • The romantic holiday soon comes and you’re feeling pretty
nervous about the whole thing you and Oikawa so painstakingly planned out, but
you had made up your mind that you were going to accept his answer whether it
was going to be good or not.
  • You don’t get the chance to give him your letter first thing
in the morning since he has early practice and the two of you don’t share the
same homeroom. But you are in the same class as Oikawa and he’s just as excited
as you are nervous. He’s practically beaming at you and completely ignoring any
of his fangirls, which earns you a couple dirty looks from some of them. But
there are a few who think the two of you are actually together and you can hear
them whispering about how great a couple you two make.
  • You take their words as a complement and it boosts your
confidence just a little bit. Throughout the entirety of the class, you’re
clearly distracted and unconsciously run your finger over the edge of the
simple white envelope you decided for your letter.
  • Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of class, you
mustered enough courage to go give Iwaizumi your letter during lunch, however
it’s the very guy that you want to confess to that throws a wrench into your
plans. When you and Oikawa get to the usual spot for lunch, the dark haired
male is nowhere to be found.
  • Oikawa, of course, offers to help you look for him, but
while you appreciate the help, you know his fangirls are going to swarm him way
before he can even get the chance to start looking. You go off on your own, promising
to go back to find him immediately afterwards and tell him all the details.
  • Now, full of hope and nerves, you set off to go find
Iwaizumi and after a while of searching, you find him near his homeroom. You’re
about to call out to him, but your voice is caught in your throat and your
chest tightens to the point of physical pain when you see another girl, someone
far more beautiful and deserving of Iwaizumi, confess to him.
  • You let out shuddery breath while clutching the letter to
your heaving chest, trying to keep in the building sobs from escaping and silently
leave. Walking away from the scene, you try to save yourself from anymore
heartbreak, but you don’t leave fast enough and hear Iwaizumi accept the other
    girl’s confession.
  • Just like that, you feel your heart sink to your stomach and
clasp your hands over your mouth. You bite your lower lip to resist the urge to
cry, but a few stray tears still manage to fall. Refusing to let yourself cry
over such a trivial thing, you rub your arm over your eyes to wipe away the
tears. The paper of the letter crinkles under your tightening grip and you
stare at it with distain. You grip the now wrinkled envelope with both hands,
intending on ripping it into shreds and throwing them away, but you stop
yourself just as a small tear appears.
  • Screw boys and screw everything. You weren’t about to
destroy something you poured all your heart and feelings into. You run your
hand over the parchment to smooth it out then return to homeroom without even
going back to Oikawa or for your lunch.
  • When the brunet does come back, with you untouched lunch box
in hand and a slew of fangirls in tow, he notices your dead expression almost immediately.
But you just stay silent thought his barrage of questions and give nothing
away. He’s finally forced to stop when the teacher walks into the room, but he
just can’t stop fretting over you. Even after being your friend for as long as
he can remember, Oikawa has never seen you look like this before.
  • The rest of the day passes as a daze and you manage to
escape from Oikawa after class before he could start worrying over you like a
mother hen. You leave school as fast as you can and you finally break down once
you inside the safety of your room. All the emotions you had walled away
    finally overflow.
  • Tears stream down your cheeks and this time you don’t try to
wipe them away. And that’s how Oikawa finds you, huddled in a dark corner of
your room with tears dampening your clothes and as silent as you had been at
    school.
  • He had ditched practice, something completely unheard of
from the volleyball obsessed idiot, and ran all the way to you house in order
to check on you. His heart is essentially shattered when he sees you in such a
destroyed state and he just wraps his arms around you.
  • Just having Oikawa there was too much. All the love and care
he was showing you was too much. Everything hurt too much. Finally, in the arms
of your best friend, you break down sobbing. And the two of you stay like that,
with Oikawa holding you tight and you clinging to the brunet as you sobbed your
    heart out.
  • It takes a while, but eventually your teas stop falling.
However, it doesn’t stop the ache in your heart. You don’t want to say it, but
you tell Oikawa about what you saw earlier. It wasn’t Iwaizumi’s fault. You
    were simply too late.
  • And so, your days of high school went on. You couldn’t just cut
Iwaizumi out of your life. He was still your best friend, but every time you
saw them together you slowly began convincing yourself that he wouldn’t have
even chosen you in the first place if there was someone as smart, beautiful,
and caring as the girl who confessed to him.
  • You continued supporting him and even so, your crush on him,
who was now the ace, never died. But when he broke up with her, you weren’t
even happy. You had fully convinced yourself that you had no chance at all. So
you slowly began distancing yourself in order to stop the aching in your heart
    whenever you saw him.
  • Your third year passed in the blink of an eye and soon
enough, you found yourself among so many new faces in a university lecture
hall. However, you never expected to see Iwaizumi himself sit right next to
you. The two of you saved the greetings until after class, but
you weren’t prepared when he asked you why you had avoided him. He even pointed
out that you didn’t realize the two of you had gotten accepted into the same
university. You struggled to find the words to explain, but luckily your senpai,
who had been looking for you, pointed out that the next lecture was starting
    soon.
  • That, however, wasn’t the last time you saw or even heard
from Iwaizumi. He started texting you daily and slowly but surely, the two of
you built back the friendship you once shared. But one day when you gave
Iwaizumi your notes, you accidentally gave him you years old confession letter
by accident. You had had kept that old thing for years, but now that old
feelings were starting to resurface you wanted to have a chance to confess.
  • You didn’t even realize that it was tucked in between all
the other papers, but Iwaizumi does when he looks through them. He inspects the
old letter and seeing that it was addressed to him, he opens it. And by the
time he finishes, he’s shoving all of his materials into his backpack and takes
    off looking for you.
  • He shoots you a text as quickly as he can and finds out that
you’re heading back to your apartment. Right now Iwaizumi is desperate to get
to you. He has to tell you that he felt the same way, but he never had the
courage to tell you. And he finds you in the hall to your apartment while your
senpai confesses to you. But he’s not about to let you go without telling you
    first.
  • You hear Iwaizumi calling your name, and the poor guy is
completely winded and completely hunched over from running all the way to your
place. You essentially ignore you senpai’s confession and rush over to help
Iwaizumi when he confesses to you out of the blue. Of course you’re shocked
until he pulls the letter out of his backpack and you realize that he read it.
Your senpai realizes that Iwaizumi is the guy that you told him about and he’s
happy for you and takes your answer in stride, leaving the two of you to have
    your moment.
  • After he catches his breath, Iwaizumi tells you everything
and you nearly break down in tears. He wraps his arms around you and says that
you have every right to not chose him, but you just shake your head and return
    the embrace.
  • “It has always been you and it always will be you.”

Akaashi Keiji

  • You and Akaashi had been friends ever since birth. Your
mothers were good friends and just so happened to live right next to each other,
so the two of you obviously became good friends too. The two of you almost did
everything together and most likely if one of you was out, the other wasn’t too
    far behind.
  • Akaashi was always loved by everyone around him because of
his gentle mannerisms and brilliant mind, but he only ever had eyes for you. While
you on the other hand only gained the attention of teachers due to your hard
work and academic diligence, but you never had any guy ever come up to you
    besides Akaashi.
  • You always looked around and saw guys with other girls, and
you wondered why no one ever came and talked to you. Was it was because you
never talked to anyone unless they talked to you first? Or maybe it was because
you were just not pretty enough.
  • You never though your own beauty standards were a problem.
It wasn’t like you didn’t make an effort to make yourself look presentable, it
was because you thought spending you money on makeup and the time and skill it
took to apply it wasn’t worth it. But after seeing all the pretty girls with
faces all done up getting all the guys, maybe you had to give it a try.
  • So for one day, you wore makeup to school. And nothing
changed. No one still noticed you. No one still talked to you. Nothing out of
the ordinary happened. It was like any other normal day at school. But there
was one person who noticed your new look and complemented you immediately.
    Akaashi.
  • He saw you when you first left the house and a faint pink
dusted his cheeks when how the simple makeup you had put on brought out your
eyes and accented your cheeks perfectly. But you just brushed it off as something
he would normally say. He would always say that he liked you or he would always
stay by your side, but you only ever though he was saying that because he was
    your best friend
  • On the outside, the setter looked the same as he always did,
but on the inside his heart was doing flips. You were so beautiful. His mind
was working overdrive, going through all the scenarios that were possible if he
confessed to you right now. But by the time he had gotten through every possible
option, the two of you had already arrived at school. And that little smile you
shot him as you were leaving did nothing to stop his heart from pounding even
    harder.
  • Every moment of that day he spent thinking of nothing but you.
However, the next day when he came to pick you up for school you seemed…off. Your
smile was strained and you seemed to always be deep in thought or spaced out.
But you just brushed off his concerns, leaving Akaashi even more worried about
    you.
  • He loved you, he really did. And not in the platonic way. He
wanted to be in a relationship with you. He wanted to take you out on dates and
do things that couples would do. But most of all, he wanted to make you feel
loved for the person that you were. You on the other hand, had other things in
mind. That was the last morning he walked to school with you.
  • You no longer came to his early morning practices and you
were no longer there after practice was over either. Akaashi chalked the first
few times as just accidents or due to sickness, but he started to get worried
after the first week and came over to see you. Like usual, you brushed off his
concerns for you and just made up some lame excuse about upcoming exams and
    university.
  • Akaashi didn’t buy it for a second, but it seemed like this
was all you were going to give him. So for the rest of his third year, he spent
more time with you and found out your dream college. Why? In order to go with
you so you would never be alone. And so he could work up the courage to
actually confess to you in a way that would make you understand that there was
    someone who truly loved you.
  • Luckily, he got into the same university as you and he began
planning the perfect way to confess his feelings to you. He knew you wouldn’t listen
to just his words alone and even if you did he had to do it in a way that would
make you like him back as well. Poor Akaashi spent weeks coming up with all
kind of scenarios and stressing over which one would be perfect for you, when
he realized that White Day was coming up. You hadn’t done anything on Valentine’s
Day, but that didn’t matter to him. That day would be just for you.
  • You were once again alone watching guys give girls return
presents and you heart ached. You wanted to feel the same way they did. Just
when you were about to walk past all the happy couples and sadly make you way home,
you heard Akaashi calling you name from behind you. And to your surprise, he
was holding a beautifully put together bouquet of lilies, daisies, and red
roses which he handed to you. You wanted to say something, anything, but he
    stopped you before you did.
  • “I want you to listen to me, __________, and I just want you
to listen until I finish. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved you with
all my heart. I remember telling you time and time again, but you though I was
saying it as a friend. But I meant it every time. Those people in high school
who didn’t pay you any attention were all fools. I watched you grow up into the
beautiful woman that you are today, and I finally mustered up the courage to
tell you this. I love you, ________. I want to make you feel loved. I want to
always be by your side and give you the happiness you deserved for all these
years. Would you be my girlfriend?”
  • You had ended up crying near the end of Akaashi’s speech and
you essentially flung yourself into his arms when he finished.
  • “I love you, _________. Since
    then, to now, and forever.”

I’m a sucker for unrequited to reciprocated love! These are great!!!
