Hcs for the Karasuno first years!!
– help from the senpai jumpstarted the (br)OT5
> Daichi mentioned final exams approaching and Suga suggested the first years form a study group
> it took a 2 on 2 match to decide where they were gonna have their study group at (TsukiYama vs KageHina with Yachi as a conflicted cheerleader)
> winner decides where they go but they end up rotating through everyone’s houses (the order goes: Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, Hinata, Kags, Yachi)– the parents / siblings of each household love their child’s new friends and often have snacks prepared after a few visits
> Yams’s parents are excellent cooks and soon enough they have each of the kids’ favorite meals down and prepared for them when they walk in
> Akiteru opened the door to find his presh baby bro with… what? Friends besides Tadashi? He becomes the dreamy older brother everyone besides Kei wishes they had and he drives them places after study sessions
> Natsu LOVES when her brother brings his friends over, she gave them all special hair clips to keep their bangs out of their face and they always wear them whenever they’re over, even during school but Tsuki will deny it if asked (star polka dot for Yams, strawberry for Tsuki, smiling sun for Hinata, ribbony pink barrette for Kags, and Natsu’s most prized heart-shaped clip for Yachi)
> Kags’ parents aren’t home often but they’ve come home to find their son in a sleeping pile of him and his friends, they wrap blankets around them until they wake up later (they also take pictures and place them around the house and the 5 become super confused)
> Yachi’s mom lowkey scares the carp out of the boys cause she has that intimidating aura when her daughter suddenly comes home with 4 guys but she’s a great advice giver and always orders takeout for them– in their second year, Capt. Ennoshita took the team for a road trip to visit the now college birb thirds and the back of the bus was Tsuki and Yams, and Kags and Hinata with Yachi in the middle
> the ride there was full of picture taking by Tanaka and Noya, moments include:
> Hinata throwing up, Kags yelling at him, Yams and Yachi running to get the first aid kit, and Tsuki facepalming himself to conceal the death of his faith in humanity (also cause he’s camera shy)
> Hinata, Kags, Yams, and Yachi all trying on Tsuki’s glasses while he’s sleeping before they all subsequently start screaming cause he’s suddenly towering over them when they’re looking at the pictures
> the 5 of them all falling asleep on each other for the latter half of the ride– second year Yachi having a rebel phase cause she got to know Saeko from all the times she came to watch her brother play, so she can keep them all in check
> it wasn’t so much of a phase more like a prank that Saeko and Yachi played on them all
> Saeko taught her of her slang and a bit of her confidence rubbed off on Yachi too
> all it took was some skull hair ties and some tough love talk and the first years never went against Yachi again, even after she told them it was all a joke
> Tanaka tries to keep his sister from influencing Yachi from that point on– ever since the road trip, they’ve used each other’s first names
> Yachi was the first to start the trend when she asked if Tsuki’s first name was “Kei” or “Hotaru” (they both mean firefly) she was like “Oh… Kei!” and then Yams was like “haha, sounds like ‘okay’!” Yachi thought it was funny, Tsuki was unamused, Kags and Hina didn’t get it (from there, Tsuki and Yachi both started calling Yams by his first name too)
> the next time Kags began playing particularly well, Ennoshita quoted Suga saying that he looked like “a fish in water” and Tsuki began calling him “Tobiou” (Yams and Yachi called him “Tobio”)
> Hinata started calling Kags “Tobiou” too before Kags threw a volleyball at him like “I’ll ShowYOU a flying fish, boge!” “Tobi-OH SHIT!”
> it was on Yachi’s anniversary of becoming Karauno’s manager that the boys made her a thank you card and signed it to “Hitoka” and called her that for the day, then the day turned into weeks and months and years and now they all call her Hitoka– they go ALL OUT for each other’s bdays, particularly Kags’s cause he’s the baby
> Hinata’s the eldest brother no one ever listens to, Yachi’s the literal “little” sister who gives great older-sister advice, Tsuki is the problematic middle child, Yams is the sweet younger brother, and Kags is the temperamental bby (only when Tsuki “coddles” him)
> Hinata declares September to be Yachi and Tsuki’s birthday MONTH even tho their bdays are like 20+ days apart
> Yams gives THE BEST presents cause he always knows just what you want even if you didn’t know you wanted it
> Yachi makes pretty, custom-designed cupcakes and cards that she has everyone sign using sparkly pens
> Tsuki is the one to suggest throwing surprise parties because he claims “it’ll be funny to watch them scream” but deep DEEP down he wants to do something nice for them all on their special days
> Kags always gives birthday punches to everyone (except Yachi, she gets hugs) he also spikes volleyballs at them when they come to practice and the ball says “Happy Birthday” on it
