Cheating Prompts- Bokuto

serves-up:

For the cheater starters can I have “The way he looks at you.. I can’t believe you’re willing to ruin that.” with Bokuto being the one who’s being cheated on by his girlfriend? Up to you whether to have the other guy be anonymous or another Haikyuu character (double evil I know).

Bokuto: “….who is he/she?” ’,:<

A/N: Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm i h8 u (jk i love angst). I combined these two for obvious reasons. This time I just used Bokuto’s last name to refer to him bc I FORgot to use his first and I dont feel like changing it lol

‘Fuck, what time is it?’

You sat up from the soft, cream bed you were previously peacefully resting in and yawned softly. You rubbed your eyes, beginning to feel yourself release from sleepiness’s evil crutches.

You can’t be late for your date. Bokuto would be expecting you soon, and you really didn’t want to deal with his potential griping if you make him wait too long. You stood up, stretching your body, feeling the refreshing pop of your back as your muscles loosened up, and trudged to the vanity, siting down in front of it.

God, you look wrecked.

Your hair was disheveled and a bit frizzy, your makeup was smeared, and…were those hickies? You need to cover those up ASAP.

And this was all thanks to him. From what Bokuto knew, you were at work right now. Which you guessed wasn’t really a lie, sex is very hard work. You peered down at your legs, noticing your thighs were a littered with a few bruises here and there. Geez, you gotta let him know to go a bit easier on you from now on, or you two will definitely get caught. And speak of the devil, he walked into the room, holding a glass of water.

“Here.” He said, placing the glass on the edge of the vanity.

You looked up at him from the vanity, smiling softly.

“Thanks, Ushijima.”

He simply nodded in response and sat on the bed behind you, flipping out his phone.

You started your process again, attempting to make yourself look at least halfway decent. As you fixed your makeup, you realized this was a good chance to speak to man.

“Hey, ‘Shima.”

He gave a slight “hm?” in reply.

“Can you try to be gentiler with me next time? I have way too may marks, I’ll be rejecting Bokuto’s advances for the next two weeks now. He’s gonna be so fucking annoying.”

Ushijima looked up from his phone, looking into the mirror of the vanity to make eye contact with you.

“…He’s really not that bad of a guy. He’s not the one at fault here.”

You scoffed at Ushijima’s response. That man never holds back anything.

“Yeah, but still…it’s annoying and I hate having to deal with his moodiness because of it. And I’m not the only ‘evil’ one here either, you’re the one I’m fucking, and you know about my boyfriend. I don’t want him to catch on to what’s going on between us either. You really know how to work your hips.”

Ushijima’s eyes quickly darted back to his phone, a light pink dusted his tan cheeks.

“He’s a good man.”

You rolled your eyes at the brunette, why was he still defending him?

“And just how is this man-child a good boyfriend? I literally feel like I’m baby sitting him seventy-five percent of the time.” You asked, turning around to face him.

Ushijima put his phone away and made eye contact with you.

“What about the other twenty-five percent. I’ve seen how…pleased…he is to be around you…The way he looks at you…I can’t believe you’re willing to ruin that.”

Was Ushijima always this sappy? You could’ve sworn when he was inside you a few hours ago, he didn’t give a shit about how Bokuto was feeling.

You were silent for a bit, mulling his words over in your head. Why was he placing all the blame on you? He knows he’s at least half responsible too, right?

“Yeah…and I can’t believe you’re willing to help me do that.”

He sighed softly, busying himself with his phone again.

You got up, grabbed your things, and headed out the door. Fuck it, you could just finish getting ready in your car.

Thankfully, your date with Bokuto went smoothly. He was just as upbeat and naive as usual, things progressed just as smoothly as ever. Throughout the date, you couldn’t stop thinking about what Ushijima said. You paid attention to the way Bokuto looked at you, just as he mentioned. He always seemed so interested in what you had to say, no matter the topic, and his curious golden eyes seemed to brighten whenever you uttered his name. However, one look really etched itself into your memory. Whenever he thought you weren’t looking, he’d stare at you with the look of utmost adoration. His eyes became half-lidded, his cheeks a bright pink, and a small grin graced his smooth face. Anyone within a one-hundred mile radius could tell he was absolutely smitten. Bokuto really wasn’t a bad guy…he just wasn’t what you were looking for…or at least you thought.

Why were feelings so complicated?

You and Bokuto were at home now, and you were washing the dishes while he sat on the counter, excitedly talked about a funny infomercial he saw on T.V. earlier. For once, you felt content with him. The sonorousness of his voice and his overly emphatic tone wasn’t getting on your nerves, and actually, it was quite adorable. As he continued to speak, you felt your heart flutter a bit. He’s really…not that bad. The sudden chime of your phone interrupted your thoughts.

You removed your hands out of the water, weakly shaking your hands to remove the suds and water to retrieve your phone from your back pocket. Bokuto stopped talking and perked up, as if he just got an idea.

“Ah, I got it! Don’t worry, baby.” He hopped off the counter and made his way towards you. He put his hand down your pocket and leaned foward against your back. His mouth moved down to your ear, and you could feel the hot puff of his breath against your ear and neck. “Plus, this gives me an excuse to touch your butt~”. He gave your butt a quick pinch before sliding your phone out of your pocket and bounding over to the other side of the kitchen, barely dodging your fist.

You returned to washing a dish as he checked your recent text.

“Uh…hey…what’s this mean?” Bokuto questioned.

“Bokuto,” you chuckled softly, I won’t know unless you read it to me.”

His voice faltered as he read the text to you. “I need you..come over?”

Your heart dropped when he read the message, the shock making you drop the plate into the warm, sudsy water in front of you. Fuck.

“From…’Ushi’….he has so many hearts by his name….who is…this?”

You were at a complete loss of words. You turned around to face him, a look of complete astonishment on your face. Bokuto noticed quickly, his face gradually contorting into a deep frown.

“Are…you…cheating..?” A glint of hope still shone in Bokuto’s eyes, he was hoping you wouldn’t tell him what he was thinking. You wanted to preserve his optimistic nature, and you considered lying to him, but dismissed the thought quickly. Bokuto may be oblivious, but he’s not stupid.

“….I’m sorry” You didn’t know what else to say.

Bokuto took a sharp intake of breath, tears welling up in his eyes. His eyes were glazed over, and the brightness that usually shone like the sun grew dark.

“I…trusted you…” He muttered, his tone a bit higher than usual. Tears began to roll down his cheeks, no matter how he tried to hold him back. His breathing became labored as he repressed the choked sobs about to surface. “W-was it m-me?”

It all hit you at once. The guilt, the regret, the self-hatred. Bokuto had all the right to get mad at you, to yell and scream as much as he wanted. But he didn’t. You were too perfect in his eyes, and he felt he couldn’t compare. So he blamed himself.

You felt the need to cry, but bottled up the feeling. This wasn’t about you. You stepped towards Bokuto, in an attempt to comfort him. You wanted to tell him he was perfect, he didn’t have anything to apologize for, you were the wrong one. However, he stepped back with each step you took froward, shaking his head softly.

“I…need…go…Kuroo.” He was too upset to speak with you, and the choked sobs were audible now, breaking through his voice.

He grabbed his car keys and quickly beelined out of the house. He didn’t even slam the door. You stared at the closed door, before quickly breaking down yourself.

You took him for granted, and lost him. The sunshine in your life was gone, and sadly, you would never feel it’s warm radiance again.

And I’m heartbroken. Interesting choice on the other guy, I really liked it! I mean, stupid reader hurting Bo but it’s still a great piece!
