Akiteru can’t believe his luck. Not only has he scored an
amazing job after graduation but he’s managed to meet the girl of his dreams at
the same time. The only challenge is, one coincides with the other and you’re
both hesitant to reveal your new status to the people you work with. A new
relationship, while fun and exciting, is difficult enough to navigate without
the added annoyance of work place teasing. Plus, neither of you are sure of the
policies surrounding inner company dating.
And yet, even with those potential pitfalls, Akiteru can’t
help himself from sidling up next to you, chest grazing your back as he
reaches above you in the guise of trying to get a coffee cup while his hand
ghosts over the curve of your rear.
“Akiteru,” you hiss under your breath, “stop that!”
“How can I help myself when you have such a fine ass?” he
questions against your ear.
Before you can answer, a voice belonging to one of your
co-workers asks, “What’s that about ass?”
Akiteru jerks away from your body almost dropping the coffee
cup in the process. He fights a losing battle of a blush as he stammers, ‘No..nothing
new, just my brother being an ass as usual, you know, kids these days.”
“He’s in college now, isn’t he?” you ask, eager to keep up
the farce.
“Yeah!” Akiteru answers a bit too loudly, “But, hey, he’s
still a kid to me.”
“Uh huh,” your fellow cubicle dweller responds slowly.
After a moment of silences, she goes on, “A word of advice, if you want to hide
the fact that you’re dating you might want to practice better subtly. Or, you
know, stop thinking you’re fooling anyone.
Everyone already knows.”
Akiteru groans, “Everyone? Including Mr. Ishima?”
She sends a sly grin over her shoulder. “You just helped him
win the bet.”
